I wonder why a CUDA version of OCL vanitygen never got made? Surely, it would better on NVIDIA cards.

Strange. I have oclvanitygen.exe and it's working great with my integrated Nvidia GPU on the laptop.

Already had some fun with the proggie...

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pros and cons of Wallet.dat and Priv Keys on: August 28, 2017, 05:37:39 AM
My wallet.dat file was generated on an offline pc. The wallet encrypted with a 54 character password, stored in an encrypted usb stick, encrypted in a file container. Same file container also encrypted with a different 54 character password and also stored on a cloud service.

To remember the password a hint was written via nfc to nfc sticker tags hidden in places I only know of. (not that I really need a hint for the password as I have been using it for years.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Will happen if all bitcoin already mined ? on: August 27, 2017, 09:58:56 AM
There are only 21 million total bitcoins that can be mined, what will happen if all bitcoin is already mined?

nothing will happen, there can only be 21 million bitcoins mined, after the last one is mined
there will be business as usual, only the miners will be solving blocks to recieve transactions fees, not the block rewards
very soon, after 3-4 block reward halvings, this will be the main source of income for them anyways

so keeping a miner connected to the network will be a good idea?
