But why so emotional? Why do you get mad when someone disagrees with you?

You say you made a great move for selling at 0.005 BTC and I say so far it seems that way... but in the life of DASH, relatively speaking, you did sell at the bottom. And I would guess, that the odds are, that DASH will revisit 0.01 BTC this year and likely even much higher. Do I know for sure? No, but don't get mad at me. Perhaps what you bought with the DASH you sold will perform better or just as well anyway.

But it's the high emotions and the supposed 'reasons' people have that make many cryptos so profitable. If you can keep your emotions in check and buy when people are so negative and sell when people are so positive, you'll do much better than most.
I have to mark here you do not have sense of reality. Afbit, Tok, me and so many, many others are people that DASH needs ( well, not in yor universe ). And you don't get it,  we are not that emotional. Rather we are clear minded, now even not wondering anymore why you don't get it.
Or let's make it this way: you are doing yourself favor ( maybe ) , and doing us NOTfavor.

If you wanted to understand - you can find our posts here dating long long ago and supporting until lately, since we see a PROBLEM. You do not see a PROBLEM. You say everything is GOOD, Marketcap and other parameters are UNIMPORTANT, one day DASH will... etc... for us that makes it clear you lost sense of reality.

To Paint it ( Tok's style ) : this all looks like Titanic floating and we are few left on it and yelling " ICEBERG!" ... ( and many others jumped off already )

Don't get me wrong, it's not bad to have emotions. But emotions will more often than not lead you to bad financial decisions.

Unless you, afbit and tok are the 3 Wise Men, your shared opinion is just that, an opinion.

The reason I find the 3 of your responses here so emotional is that I could probably chart your negative (and positive or no) posts to the price of DASH. When DASH was $120+ it was eerily quiet in here... when DASH dipped below $110, panic troll posts started to appear and within the hour of DASH falling below $100, toknormal revisited after a 2 week hiatus. Then you guys quickly piled on with the same negative rant.

You supported DASH with positive posts so faithfully years ago when the price looked better by the day and now that you deem it to be in freefall you only post negative things about DASH. That seems emotional to me. Price is dictating your mood. Of course you say you have reasons. But that's been discussed ad nauseum now. Nothing substantially has changed with DASH's economic model since masternodes were introduced. So either the problem has always existed and no one was smart enough last bull run or you are exaggerating the significance of the reward change. Generally speaking I don't think people are smart enough when it comes to money. They let their emotions drive their decisions (hidden behind "reasons"). Selling low and buying high is an emotional outcome.

Is DASH's economic model perfect? Nope, never said that. Can it be improved? Perhaps, but not by berating people that disagree with you.

I seem emotional? Well I admit annoyance when qwizzie starts posting shit about me! Trying to create an impression of me to discredit. That is why I describe him as low.

However that is nothing to do with making emotional trading decisions as you seem to imply. I've been round the block a few times, ridden a few speculative bubbles. I don't regard my desicion to sell as emotional in the slightest. I'll give you a heads up, not all coins maintain their peaks, some keep heading down the ranking. Will Dash be one of those? Perhaps. IMO it is a risky investment, might work out, but is risky.

My decision to sell dash was based on two main factors.
1) the reward allocation and in particular Ryan's proposal that was accepted by the network to give more of the dash supply for masternodes and less for miners making bad economics worse. The vote looks bad and is bad..

Did you sell at those times? If you sold at 0.005 BTC it seems that you did not. But I do agree that the masternodes voting themselves a higher reward is a bad look and not worth it especially when it amounts to 0.04 DASH or something so negligible.

2) an important support line was breached. The technical analysis looked aweful and to me only reinforced my suspicions about point 1). I would have preferred dash to bounce from that support, bounce hard and give me a chance to get out higher but it is what it is.

Now that one makes more sense in when you actually did sell. XMR sits on it's important support and looks likely that it won't fall below it. However, I invite you to look more closely at the LTC/BTC chart and see how LTC breached a very important support in it's first bear market vs BTC. Many thought it was to be left for dead too. Then within a week or so, LTC went up 7x and was only down 50% from its ATH vs USD. Funnily enough if DASH does something similar in its first bear market against BTC, it will also be at about 50% of its ATH vs USD.

Note that the alt season has not started yet. Only minor rumblings... last time BTC went about 15% above its previous ATH before diving 30%. On the recovery alt season started. This time BTC went over 100% over its previous ATH to about $41K and it just recently touched about $28K (30% down). Seems some alts are recovering faster than BTC now. Are we only weeks from altseason?

You think dash will hit 0.01btc this year??

I'm not sure why you pick 0.01 which seems a bit arbitrary. That would mean dash breaking out of its multi year bear channel.

Yeah, I think that's inevitable. If DASH had fallen off page 1 of CMC or even out of the top 50 you would have a stronger case. But the fact that it's still in the 30's despite CMC now double counting BTC (by including WBTC) and there being about 5 stablecoins ahead of DASH means that DASH is still a top altcoin. It's not like it fell to $6 like someone else predicted.

Hahah , EVERY assumption you made ( regarding me ) is - WRONG. That makes me thinking... must be right the rest...

Man...last  I sold was at 0.008 and now can buy back a lot more but that is not what we are talking about. Than I was thinking about buying back but didn't. And now I am glad that didn't. That is sad, DASH is great coin. But lost that old Cyberpunk spirit, MN owners now behave like government, DASH is their state. I  ( hmm, we ) just moved elsewhere. And I just stopped talking about DASH ( to my many many friends that I invited to crypto ).

I get what you are saying but to me its all about the reward allocation.

To qwizzie I am interested in Dash, whether currently invested or not. If masternodes owners see sense and vote for something like an allocation described by toknormal recently a 'sweet spot'. I would like to invest in dash.

I am negative because the direction is wrong, it is frustrating to see a project that ticks all the right boxes fail so badly on such a 'simple' thing to fix. Dash works, could work, should work, the people making decisions doesn't

qwizze what i dislike about you is so many things you shill, you accuse people who believe in dash but have different opinion than you of being trolls. You quote my name and my supposed bad decision to sell but then can't argue when i call you out. You think you are helping dash with your input you are not. What you do now. Thank me for boosting this thread page posts ? Threaten me with ignore? Remind everyone I sold? You are low. Very low

Reward allocation IS direct result of what I am saying.

some time ago many ppl here discussed it and many opposed - i didn't understand why. Now I do.

AzzAz : sold most of his Dash during last bull market and moved on to other coins (BTC & ETH)
Afbitcoins : sold most of his Dash during this bear market, when Dash price was really low
toknormal : ramblings about the blockreward reallocation change for many many many months now, most likely sells his Dash at first opportunity (first big pump) as he posted in the past

You said it was the bottom, Dash was above 0.005bitcoin when i sold. It was not the bottom. Dash is now 0.0032. I could have half a masternode extra now for every masternode sold then

I don't know why anyone would listen to you. You give worst ever advice

I'm still puzzled by DASH miners. Who mines it? Must be somebody that has free energy and free equipment. And nothing else to do.
Is here at this forum any DASH miner? Hello?

if any whales here.... do something and get Dash to 18th again (even if for 1 day) so people can get out of this nightmare

We had a big whale named otoh hodling about 500BTC worth of DASH, but it was manoy years ago.
I think I should get the clue and sold when otoh left.

...and that was at the time when BTC forked and split ( that made DASH attractive )! LTC, ETH, ETC have whales, DASH have only MN owners...

I have that problem, virtual memory in 40.000.

Try to add -gser 2

SAME BRO, same problem

you need to find the optimal value for the -gser command for your gpus.
Example:
PhoenixMiner.exe -pool eth-eu2.nanopool.org:9999 -wal wallet.rig -gser 2

or

Perhaps your drivers have been automatically updated. You need to roll back the drivers to the version on which the program works stably.

In config.txt add:

-rvram -1

And add more virtual memory in windows 16 to 32Go, Me for 6 * RX580 i have 65635Mo virtual memory for no problem

Same problem, delete all and paste what you write and same vram problem, today was working fine, i did not update nothing and stop mining

go back and read few post, I had same problem post #7311 ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.msg56049534#msg56049534 )
Also, windows 20.4 with PM 5.4c and AMD 20.11.2 working nice

...................Those rewards were 100% mined...................

Wat? We are not in 2014 premine stage, its 2021 and masternotes have majority reward and dictate.

Well I could of worded it better but no, they were not actually all mined already :-p I meant to say, there is no proof of stake thing going on here. Nakamoto consensus is the baseline, masternodes don't mint coins out of thin air and the mining schedule is fully known. Bitcoin has nodes, dash has nodes, distribution is better in dash.

As for dictate, I have no idea what you're talking about. F?ck the reward, I'd be here if it was 25% or less. A lot of MNOs are still here even when they took a 95% hit. You might want to say thank you for supporting the network when end users were free to sell at any price without penalty. Masternodes are not some magical entity, they are the same as bitcoin nodes except they are collateralized to build a reputation network.
You talk about some things right, then you miss some , then you draw conclusion.  Well, problem is those you missed. And conclusion is wrong.
Take it from somebody who is here from xcoin times and is ex MN owner. Happy ex , sorry. Still watching and waiting for changes.
Changes in right direction that day by day are more and more far away...
To all MN owners: take one minute to think about greed. A specific DASH MN owners greed. That is holding a great coin down.

Hi ! same here... My Sapphire RX470 8GB suddenly stop mining.

hi what is the best way to increase performance on 1080 TI's,

are people still downloading ETHlargement pill and similar, or is putting  -straps to 3 or 6 sufficient ?

Would be great if someone can post their stable settings with 1080 TI, do you also use nvmem <n> ?.. Thanks
eth pill with cclock 50 or 100, memclk +50 or 100 too.  limit power if electricity  is expensive. @210w this gives 47Mh, @150w it is down to 41...

- cant give 50% of coins with 0 cost and expect to be store of value.

Nobody outside of masternode holders has any difficulty with understanding this and it has therefore exposed a major flaw in the governance system. Turkeys & Christmas.

Its technological advances were ruined by disastrous economic decisions.

Indeed. Since there's no point in being a means of exchange without being a store of value first.

Letting MN owners to make decisions on how reward is split is conflict of interest by definition, as is letting Ryan to propose it. Except this, DASH is almost great coin.

Guys, like most of you, I've been using Claymore for years and loved every single minute of it.  My 32 gpu's hashed away beautifully.   Since Claymore miner stopped working, I have decided to give PhoenixMiner a try.

I'm hoping someone here can help me makes sense of this.

I've got four (AMD 580 8GB) rigs Mining ETH totalling 32 GPUs.   All are hashing away (according to phoenixminer) between 29-31 mh/s per card, just very similar to what I was getting with Claymore's Miner.

I'm used to getting well over 1000 mh/s worth of shares with those rigs.  In fact, Nanopool is showing that my reported hashrate is about that as well, except my Current-Hashrate and 6-hour average hashrate hovers around 730 mh/s and my shares reflect that.

I've tried undervolting, not undervolting, adjusting my clock speeds from super high to super low and I"m getting essentially the same results no matter what.   Been testing this for well over a few weeks.

My concern is the amount of shares I'm getting with my little mini-farm.   After hydro expenses I'm left with peanuts.
All that mining equipment I feel is going to waste.

It just seems suspicious and depressing that pointing 32 GPU's (roughtly 1000 mh/s) at a pool with cards that were all performing perfectly for some time are generating substantially less shares, to the point where it almost makes it not all too worth it to mine anymore.   getting about 33.3% less shares, and unfortunately hydro costs are up here in Canada making my 'profits' super bleek and light.

Anyone know of another miner or any tricks I may be missing to get my fair share of shares for hashpower.

There's gotta be a more viable solution to make use of several thousands of $ in mining equipment with re-occurring monthly expenses.

I'm using the latest AMD drivers and the latest PhoenixMiner.

Is anyone here at all perfectly happy with the performance of their 580 8GB rigs?

Image shows what I was getting with Claymore and then with PhoenixMiner

Image shows what I'm now getting with PhoenixMiner

Wake up, difficulty increased by 33%
and there are new much more efficient GPUs, not to mention ASICs so time has come to sell ( doubt solar is of any help in Canada ). Maybe use ( if you have it there ) low tariff during night...

DCG Head of Marketing
https://blog.dash.org/dcg-head-of-marketing-52fa56619eac

Quote
Dash Core Group is officially kicking off the process to select a Head of Marketing.

I honestly think that Ryan is wrong to continue 'focusing' on South America. His stuborness on this strategy is worrying. No matter how well intended it is, it is wrong to put too much focus on a market in an underdeveloped region.

We need someone who is present in the crypto space and promotes the hell out of Dash and I have much doubt that this new head of marketing will be able to do so.

I understand Ryan's reasoning, but he needs to face up to reality and that is that crypto still is a speculative asset and therefore you need to primarily attract speculative investment where it is available!

Honestly, everyone involved in Dash needs to step up and do their part in promoting Dash on all his available channels. Promote Dash on social media (Twitter, Youtube, Reddit, Facebook ...). Use your existing accounts or make new ones to talk about or promote Dash. Get active. Add comments about Dash to popular crypto videos, but also on Dash's official videos. Get the number of views and comments up. Add comments about Dash on tweets. Make memes. Whatever. Make noise. It will have much more effect than the 'Venezuela' adoption strategy. Hundreds, thousands of Dash holders spreading the message is far more powerful than what any single 'marketing' person can ever achieve.

It's been more than two years since I said that, and nobody paid attention to me.

I always put the same example. I have traveled to South America, and there they perfectly accept euros and dollars, do you know why?

Well, because it is the currency that is used mostly in international trade in the first world.

Do we want Dash to be used in South America by precarious and weak economies or for it to be used in the first world and then spread to the rest?

I have nothing against projects in South America, there are people and projects with potential there, but to sell something popular, you have to promote it where there are large movements of people and capital.

Make Dash go mainstream in countries like the USA, Europe or Japan, and I guarantee that South America will run after dash and not dash after South America.

Absolutely my take on this, but the DCG CxO level persists and it seems most MNOs are still following along. Adoption needs to come more naturally and not through subsidizing. We likely? have something good going there, I respect the work and effort that has been put in it, but it does not (seem to) create the network effect we are after.

Vote accordingly.

I've again provided this feedback to Ryan directly on the Dash Talk discord. I've already done this over a year ago, but it had no effect.

Give 1000 Dash tomorrow to random wallets in South America, and I guarantee that all Dash holders, as soon as they know how to convert it into dollars, will do it quickly.

They won't even wonder what Dash is, if it's a coin, a reward for being smart, or a McDonald's promotion.

And this I tell you because I know it, and I have seen it.

Not only happens with Dash, the same happens with LTC, BTC ...

Countries with significant needs for essential consumer goods do not think of investing or maintaining a long-term investment when they can convert it into dollars that they need for yesterday.

Masternodes do not vote in a coherent way, after long years of throwing money into a bottomless pit, we can openly say that masternodes vote without thinking or evaluating the project.

I have always said that if there is no good project, it is better to burn the dash in an address without a private key than to deliver it to a bad investment.

Imagine if all the Dash thrown in bad projects had been invested in gold for example on behalf of the holders.

For each Dash to have, for example, 1/20 part of an ounce assigned ... wouldn't this have been better?

My whole life has been dedicated to investment, and venture capital, and I have seen enormous stupidity here when it comes to distributing the budget.

I still remember Ryan spending thousands of dollars to change the Dash logo when a 14-year-old photoshopped it just as well.

Then people like F. Gutierrez who passed through the Dash Core Group with hardly any noise.

Years ago I asked please to hire a global marketing company, and they told me no, it was better to wait for the product to be finished.

While the product is being finished, the price drops from $ 500 to $ 60.

Good product, bad management, that's Dash.
Amen

There"s still 50% incorrect shares. My rig is 4 x 580 8 GB, Windows 7, blockchain drivers, 4 GB ram. Before one month everything was perfect with version 5.0b. What is the problem now? Now I'm using lol miner, only it works.

It's that your configuration is bad

Thank you for this really efficient reply which really help. It worked like charm for 3 years, 24/7, and phoenix miner stopped before one month.

post config man :/ -

OK. 4 x RX 580 8 GB Sapphire Nitro, Windows 7 64 bit, 4 GB ram, hdd 320 GB, virtual memory 40 GB, blockchain driver (Robin Hood). I have several same rigs as above, only MB and cpu are different, but everywhere is the same problem, around 50% of incorrect shares. It works like charm for several years, but problem starts before one month. Only lol miner 1.16 work well, Claymore don't, Phoenix don't (all versions, but I used Phoenix 5.0 and everything was good until November). I guess Windows 7 is problem now, but I don't want to change to Windows 10 until I am forced to do that, because lol miner works, even with 2 MH less per card.
I'm asking developer to tell us if he/they will solve this problem, or?
Thank you.

it is old OS, old driver, if old miner stop - there is no help, cause new miner works on new OS, new driver...
also DAG grows hence need for new miner etc...

Hi!
I want to buy ASIC under Ethereum.
I only mined on the GPU.
Question does ASIC already have the program sewn in?
Or will Phoenix need to be specially configured for ASIC? Huh
 Thanks!
ASICs usually have linux based OS and you just need to do basic setup

again, mining DASH is so very unprofitable. WHO are miners?

Hello,

I switched to phoneix 5.3, but I notice an increased energy consultation.

I have platforms 2x6 shapshire rx 470 8g - 350 mh / s, 1900watts! at cleymore 15 - 1500watts
1x 5 rx 580 powercolor - 150 mh / s / 920watts - claymore 15 800watts

please advice and settings.

I may have put something I shouldn't
They were not used for a very long time and worked only on Claymore. Please tell me which one to remove or put on to reduce electricity consumption

Settings of afterburner:
core voltage - /-98/
power limit - /-16/
temp. limit - /78/
cclock - 1150
mmclock - 2100/for rx580/; for rx470 - 2050

1. download and install and drivers 19.9
2. open and settings go to every gpu and witch from graphics to compute mode
this should work... I guess you are using the 17 blockchain beta driver now

Dear all,
I changed the drivers, but there is no change in power consumption?
If you have other suggestions, the cards consume over 110 watts
cclock 1131 or 1141 or 1151 ( check watts ), mclock 2100, cvddc 860, mvddc 875, fanmin and fanmax remove, afterburner remove,, use tt 63 and ttli 70, and 20.4.2 driver ( that depends of windows version ) ...  - mine 470's do over 30Mh and under 110w ... dont know about 580 Powercolor's

I really hope Claymore issues an update soon.

I'm getting far less shares with the same hashrate using Phoenix Miner than I was with Claymore's legendary v15 - Something around 15 percent less shares.

Sad times at the ol' rig farm.

Often lowering your clocks a bit helps
