21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: any good bitcoin trader accepting PayPal? on: May 18, 2014, 03:08:44 PM
I've used Virwox before a few times without any problems,  but the rates arn't always the best.

There are other places,  I think some guys on localbitcoins do.

Why does it have to be paypal?  Sureley if you have a paypal a/c you have a bank a/c too.

If anyone gets a moment take a look at my website I made, I have been learning HTML for 2 months and would like some advice on it please:

simplycoin.co.uk

Check it out and let me know.

Cheers!

23  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which Bitcoin Exchange do you use and why ? on: May 17, 2014, 12:57:55 AM
Hi

I use a number of exchanges from time to time usually btc-e if I can get the funds transfered.  If I want quick coin I use bitbargain as I am in the uk and it's quick and easy.

I've been learning HTML and CSS for ~2 months and I made a website to practice and get experience.  It has some info on exchanges.

It's at:  simplycoin

I'm looking for feedback and advice on it if anyone gets a moment.

Thanks.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help getting my son started {unemployed} on: May 16, 2014, 09:45:50 PM
Hi

I got asked if it was convenient for me to take time off work as they weren't that busy(it wasn't convinient). Fed up, I went to my government careers adviser and said I wanted a career change and was thinking about IT.

I had done a few tutorials for html but didn't know much.  They got me onto a 5 day coding course and have made me a few introductions to employers.

I have been learning about 2 months in total now I have produced a website for beginners to cryptocurrency. It's at: simplycoin.co.uk please check it out if you have a moment and give me some feedback.  I am hoping to show it to potential employers at a couple of interviews I have coming up. (hope I get it finished in time!)

Sorry to hear about your son, if he finds something he really enjoys doing he should look for some help it is out there somewhere.  I have found so far that tech professionals really go out of their way to help people if they sense a genuine passion.  As you can see from the more experienced guys on this site they are very helpful.

I hope something comes good for me soon and your son.  It sucks to be out of work.

Good luck Thanks

Hi,

I would suggest mining of some sort.

I made a website to practice my coding.  I have only been learning about 2 months so it's not the best but.....

It's at:   simplycoin

It's aimed at newcomers to crypto who would like some info on the absolute basics.

Check it out if you get a moment.  let me know your thoughts.

Thanks
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I buy bitcoin same-day? on: May 16, 2014, 08:59:58 PM
Hello

I have been learning HTML and CSS for about 2 months now and I created a site called:  simplycoin that I could show to potential employers to help me get a trainee job.

It is aimed at helping newcomers to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

Check it out.  Let me know what you think.

Thanks.
27  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Price per GHS. Cloud mining vs Asic on: April 06, 2014, 11:47:18 PM
Thanks for all your advice and comments.  The mention of Bitmain and PB mining led me to stumble across this thread;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=539862.40

Plenty of food for thought for me on there.

I'll give it a more thorough read tomorrow as it's late here now.

Thx Grin
28  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Price per GHS. Cloud mining vs Asic on: April 06, 2014, 10:54:57 PM
Hmm... PB mining that's interesting, I took a look there.  I note that contracts are fixed term i.e. 5 years.  presumably that's long enough though right?  I mean in five years time things would have moved on so much your mining equipment would need to be replaced anyway?

/*edit*/

Would the 5 year contract make any difference to say ghash.io where GHS is "indefinite"?  I guess after 5 years with difficulty increase and if the price continues south, I wouldn't get much of a return on my initial investment (selling GHS) anyway.

You have to be a member of that cloud hashing site to mine at their pools.

No problem.

Don't worry about it. Smiley
30  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Price per GHS. Cloud mining vs Asic on: April 05, 2014, 12:05:32 AM
In the past buying an ASIC as opposed to the price per GHS at cloud mining sites such as ghash.io was a no brainer.

However, with the price dropping recently as low as; BTC 0.01 per GHS the gap seems to have narrowed considerably.

With factors such as:
  • difficulty increase
  • BTC/USD price fluctuations
  • electricity costs
  • resale value (used mining equipment vs. cloud GHS
  • lifespan of mining equipment
to take into account. (I'm sure there are many more factors to consider, please let me know)

Investing in Cloud Mining is looking increasingly more attractive.

My question is:  At what point (if ever) will Cloud Mining become more profitable than investing in a new ASIC, and for a small investor like myself would I be better off cloud mining now?

With so many variables I'm confused.  Does anyone know of a formula or where to find data that would answer this question for me.

Hi

I'm in UK and I'm interested, I can only stretch to one unit atm.

I'm a bit confused about the specs of the various gridseed products could you confirm the specs of this unit.  Also what other hardware or attachments would be required to get started ie. Power suplly / controller leads etc.

Sorry but I'm a bit new.

Thanks

It's sad but inevitable that people will stoop to these dirty tricks and fake news campaigns.

I hope those responsible are made to face the consequences.

thebitcoinnews.co.uk should be questioned on their reporting ethic at least.

As for the guy who started this thread +1 IMO.  It helped me steer round the BS when the link was posted on btc-e seemed to calm alot of nerves.

*edit*  or should I add the answers in the forum from trusted members helped me see the news was fake.  Thanks guys.

40  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Announcing a new bitcoin exchange with UK banking - www.bit121.co.uk on: December 15, 2013, 06:05:43 PM
Hi

Good news.  I signed up today.  Still not worth my while transferring GBP there as prices are high and the £10 deposit fee is a little off putting.

I'm sure I will use it at some point in the future maybe against the arbitrage or for  a faster GBP - BTC conversion.  How long does tranfer take BTW is it instant UK - UK?

Any plans for LTC or more trading options in the future?

Great to see a UK bank to BTC route again it's been long overdue.  Smiley
