1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] Free EU bank accounts that you can be opened directly online on: October 22, 2018, 10:39:44 AM
Hi all, i just found this:

https://www.streber.org/list-of-offshore-banks/list-emi-digital-banks/

I think it's useful but I did not have the time to try all of them at the moment.

At the moment i use Mistertango but I am not happy with the fix monthly fee (I had no problem with their variable fees last year....)

I also used Leopay but they closed the bank account (so much for Malta being the land of crypto...)

Hope it helps
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocities.net - your opinion? on: February 15, 2018, 04:42:10 AM
Hi,
today I randomly found new "game" built on top of ETH. It's similar to Cryptokitties but it should have fixed supply(I can't verify that yet, but I have written question to one of devs on discord).

https://cryptocities.net/

What are your thoughts about this project? Do you think it can live for a while?

If it has the same success of Cryptocountries... you better start buying...

This I don't understand:

Quote
Disney built a blockchain, and now its creators are trying to turn it into a commercial platform to compete with Ethereum [unquote]

so you compete with ethereum by.... being and ERC20? does not make much sense unless the blckchain is actually another one and the ERC20 just represents... what does it represent?
 Huh
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 29, 2017, 12:37:46 PM
Hi all, I was seeking a confirmation of this fact: XEM is a cryptocurrency which is NOT a fork or some sort of Bitcoin. Is it correct?
Should be like that reading the materials from the official sources, but if someone can doubleconfirm I would appreciate.
THX!

That's actually a funny question, only because when NEM was coded from scratch there was only one Bitcoin, and I don't think anyone anticipated the multiple forks it's having now.

NEM was originally going to be a clone of NXT. NXT was the first of what was called the second generation of cryptocurrency back in the day. Rather than proof of work mining, it confirmed blocks through a process called forging. The entire coin was released at once in a genesis block so the forging address would get any coins that were transaction fees. NXT had some initial technical difficulties which NEM was going to address. And then the developers decided to just code the whole thing from scratch. NEM is a complete original.
Also, don't forget the proof of importance protocol instead of pure proof of stake. That's something unique to NEM as well.

Thank you all for this. I really wanted to add something original to my portfolio but I was finding only btc clones of sort. Glad I'm in!

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 28, 2017, 10:20:49 AM
Cool, these days the price goes up, is this because there is an impact of the bitcoin hardfork issue so many users are diverting to altcoin including Monero? Huh

I like to believe that Monero is just one of the best coins out there.
And one of the few that is actually different and not a fork of bitcoin of sorts.
Other factors matter but this should be the core reason for people to buy XMR
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: TaaS — Tokenized Closed-End Fund on: November 28, 2017, 10:15:59 AM
Have any of the investments made a return yet or have all profits been from trading alone?
The people that bought in at ICO paid $1 per TAAS and received two dividend payments which together are well over $0.60 per TAAS. All they need to do is sell to make huge profit, but why should they when they can make their investment back in less then a year, over and over and over, for doing ... well... absolutely nothing.

Theoratically, since part of the profit gets reinvested, dividend should grow larger since total investment grows as well, yet the amount of TAAS is fixed.
Two tactics you can follow: buy now at low price and sell just before dividend payout, or go long term and focus on dividend payouts and reinvest your payout by buying what traders dump.
The second is slow but fairly secure (as if anything crypto is ever secure...), the second may get you more profit faster but a growing number of traders aim to do exactly that, so competition will push margins down by a lot.

That's a good analysis on how to play TAAS. MAYBE WE CAN DO A BIT OF BOTH. Buy a few in the lull, sell before divvies are paid out and also buy on the dips to grow the stash long term. I might try to play this 50/50 but now I am so outta funds it's a joke lol. I do think TAAS is a long term hold in general though.

I am thinking to do the reverse, sell during the close date of dividend payout, this is where the price will be all-time high and buyback during the dump after the dividend is received. In this process, I might lose the dividend at one time but gain more taas for the next dividend.

Yes, that is the idea I am having also ATM. Need to wait for  the next dividend announcement though.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: November 28, 2017, 10:11:35 AM
everything is growing, even all shitcoins, but i hop a good signal for ETC. Beware of the correction, this will happen this week sure , this growth is too high.. even monacoin, +50% in 2 days ...

I almost believe that people are worried of triggering some serious sales wall at 10,000 USD per BTC, that is why we see this dumping from BTC to altcoins...
I agree that like this cannot last for long.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PIVX] - PRIVATE INSTANT VERIFIED TRANSACTION - POS 2.0 - ZEROCOIN PROTOCOL on: November 28, 2017, 10:07:45 AM
Wow, what is happening to Pivx?

Stayed quiet even if major milestones were achieved on the technical side of things.
Now it's PIVX turn even if what we saw today was a big whale that threw some BTC at PIVX on bittrex.
Still believe it's a very good buy at 4, 5, even up to 10.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] MONETHA - Decentralised reputation with built-in payments on: November 21, 2017, 05:47:05 AM
Actually, before investing in MTH, I thought carefully because in just 18 minutes all the tokens were sold out. Most of the tokens were shipped to whales and big investors and as the effect of the price increase of MTH soared and most whales sold all MTH at that time to make a profit and now the price of MTH is very low.

This is what I should have thought too, you are correct. MTH shipped ALL to big investors (not necessarily whales, that's a BTC term). Knowing this plus knowing that a token is not equity should have told me something since I am an accountant in my daily life... anyway...
Well... now i know best now, lesson learnt. Waiting for Monetha to come up with something. Thir project should not be over complicated compared to others...

Hi all can anyone inform me how many coins for a weekly stake at this moment, give or take ...

Cheers

Hi there,  for a weekly stake I think we're talking tens of thousands ppc on the wallet. May be 20k? I think so at least,  if anyone has got better estimations please feel free to add.

maybe not all ICO scam, since some of them are simply con artists. if you want to see ICO is not a scam, you need to examine who's the campaign supervisor from the project. all of this is dependent only on people who wish to take part in a task they believe isn't a rip-off.I think you need to you examine once again in Announcements (Altcoins) lots of really promising tasks there.

The fact is that it is so simple to get creative with the accounting of these ICOs.
Put it together with human greed and I really would discourage anyone in doing any ICO.
I've never done one for once. And look, statistically, how many coins w/ ICO slump as soon as they come to the market: too many (say 90%?).
It means that most ICO are well studied ways of getting money of so called "investors".
Do not ICO guys. The only ICO I wish I did was ETH, but such a chance will not repeat very easily, sorry.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ ATB Coin - the world’s fastest and most secure cryptocurrency ★★ on: November 10, 2017, 02:54:59 AM
To be honest I don't understand how people could not see this is a scam. I remember i subscribed my email in their mailchimp just to see how the vibe of an ICO was, without the real intention of buying in whatsoever.
They even wrote in one of their marketing emails that they would list in Bittrex (!!Bittrex!!), but the rule number one in coins is that you don't mention the exchanges you're gonna be into before you are actually into that exchange...
Really just marketing full of rockets going to the moon and all. No substance.
How can anyone fall for this I don't know...
There are many more out there that look scam to me, be careful and think long term, not rockets.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] MONETHA - Decentralised reputation with built-in payments on: November 03, 2017, 09:07:41 AM
How many of you were in crypto gor 4-5 years. I had many experience and i am sure mth will be back to ico price

I believe you. That is why I have never sold.
I just hope that the investors that don't mind selling at loss plus the weak hands are over and now only purchases flow in instead of sell orders.
Look at what happened to BCH: reach the floor, can only go up.
I hope we're there today. Growth finally seems healthy.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX: Making Blockchain assets spendable on: November 02, 2017, 09:42:50 AM
The price of shit is 0.00021, the shit goes to zero! Julian took our investment!!!!!!!!!!1

Julian himself told us that TenX token price right now is way too overprice. Check on youtube. Wink

Then I kinda disagree. it's funny... I bought PAY the first time at 0.9 USD, then it shot to 5 / 6 and there I sold because yes, up there it was overpriced.
But right now I don't really see how this can be overpriced since there are having successful cards distribution, a congested network for payments (meaning many payments) and all.
Sooner or later they will declare the payout and we'll see if it's really overpriced...
If it goes back to 1 USD I certainly buy more.
BTC after B2X will deflate since no more "serious" forks on the horizon.
good prices to return to the source again, you can enter the mountain and prepare for growth, really worth to wait for confirmation of reversal and not to buy a falling knife.

Makes, sense, DragonETH. Let's see if first it goes to 1 USD, then I'll take the decision.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] MONETHA - Decentralised reputation with built-in payments on: November 01, 2017, 04:56:32 AM

Unfortunately they might if what I am thinking it's true. But as I mentioned before, long term this project should be all right.

One things  certainly learned with mth is that I've never done an ico before,  will never will. Only regret is to have bought this item Ken triple the price than now,  but it  learned a lot...

I know its painful for ICO investors and i  totally blame Monetha for this spectacular fall. They instantly gave an impression after ICO  - "Ohh God !! we somehow raised $37 million now lets find out how to start work". Monetha was so technically under-prepared but credit to them they still managed to raise loads of money.

i am not sure what Monetha is currently thinking but any more negative publicity from now on will impact their hunt for Big Merchants. If market starts talking all shit about you then guys like FairBank & Eric won't be able to help.

Well the fact if that merchant look at the balance sheet of monetha (the company) ,  not the market cap of the token itself. The equity (or whatever an ico is called in the accounting books) stays in the balance sheet at cost,  while the value of the tokens itself is something not registered in the books of monetha.

So yes and no,  the value of the token will not necessarily affect the customer finding process.

That's what I failed to recognize before. But I know now.
Luckily I did not ico (and after this lesson,  never will), still I used some eth on etherdelta too much ahead of time to get a bag of mth. I could have waited...

It will hit the bottom $0.01 very soon. Thanks god, I sold all of them.

wishing thinking....i dont think majority of investors are idiots to sell at anything less than current price....

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: October 31, 2017, 10:27:04 AM
I am really puzzled about BCC... it seems to me a bomb ready to explode (like many other coins yes, but this is special). 120% or more annual ROI can mean only hyperinflation... but then i see that the maximum supply is almost reached? And what then?

Seriously, I don't want to FUD, but can you help me understand? May be you've got a useful link to explanations?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] MONETHA - Decentralised reputation with built-in payments on: October 31, 2017, 02:04:37 AM
Yes, and no. Monetha was #74th position on Coinmarketcap without Binance and Kucoin exchnges. What really makes me worried about Monetha is how price can go down each week. How can you sell Tokens with loss?! it just doesn't make sense.
It's called smart use of capital. If you don't think Monetha is going up any time soon and you believe that another token is going to go up, you are better off to sell at a loss and jump into the winning trade rather than ride the loss. Does that make sense?

Smart use of capital  Smiley  Grin
Yep, that is true, very good definition. Lesson learned with Monetha for me.
Luckily smart use of capital should mean that the project is legit for the long term...
