Had to cycle power a few times, but finally, cube is up and running at a steady 32 GH/s on low clock speed.

Initially, upon power up, cube would turn on but about three seconds later, I hear a click and everything turns off. Cycling the power a few times seems to have done the trick.

Canary,

You'll need a label per unit correct?

Thanks

-J

For shipping, each cube will be in it's own 8x8x8 box. each box is 7 pounds. you should consider insurance, it's up to you...

so if you have 2 cubes on order, you'll send 2 labels, 1 for each cube.
3 on order, send 3 labels etc... etc...
6 Cubes ordered, please send 6 labels.

One Cube.

Transaction ID: 10f2cdbbebdaa5617f67d0bfe1dd721b09f848a141eea924473c7bcd36a9be5a

Will await label instructions.

Label sent, but...

Messed up item #3 (tracking number) and #4 (signature) on the email I sent (accidentally sent tracking num & signature from a previous purchase from you); however, I immediately sent a follow up email with the proper tracking number and signature. Let me know if you encounter any issues with emails I sent.

Waiting on friedcat... Sent several PMs for tracking info etc...

I guess the days of same day shipping (ships once he gets payment) by the cat from China are long gone. He's not the holy cat in my book anymore.

Sorry, first time bitcoin miner buyer here. If I understand it right the process is:

1) Send BC to address listed in OP
2) Post amounts bought with transaction ID
3) Wait for shipping instructions via PM (which also involves message signing using address used to send the BC payment)

Am I getting the gist of it right? Sorry for being a newb at this. Thanks.

Canary will most likely post shipping instructions here as a post, rather than a PM. Once we have all that, we will need to get a label created, the tracking number signed and the whole thing emailed to Canary as noted in the OP.

-edit.  use bfgminer as the proxy, works very well with blades and cubes!

Anybody with experience running BFG as stratum proxy on a Rpi? I was using slush, but wanted to make the change. Any shared tips/faqs/gotchas appreciated.
8  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Scammers on Ebay on: November 25, 2013, 03:35:32 AM
Let me share one example which may dissuade some of you from engaging in selling on eBay, given the real risks involved which eBay will never tell you.

I sold off my FPGA miners on eBay in May, when I started to transition to ASIC. Then in July, one of the buyers filed a bullshit chargeback with their credit card company, citing undelivered goods or something along those lines. Paypal pulled the amount from my Paypal balance. After I provided Paypal with the tracking number and the proof of delivery in the form of a signature form which I requested from USPS, Paypal gave me back my money.

I thought I was in the clear.

Fuck No.

The criminal buyer and his equally criminal credit card company ignored the proof that Paypal sent to them on my behalf. The credit card company refused to reverse the chargeback.

So guess what?

Paypal once again pulled the amount from my Paypal balance. I'm out the miner and I'm out the money.

I checked with eBay and Paypal to see how I can set up my listing so that next time, I can prevent people from paying using a credit card through Paypal and potentially abusing me again. Both eBay and Paypal said they can't and won't do that. So, I told them to fuck themselves. I have a 100% feedback on eBay and have been selling since the year 2000. Despite that, I walked away from the eBay/Payal platform that shifts all risk to the seller.

The chargeback example I provided above is just one of several scams enabled by credit card companies, eBay and Paypal. I've had enough and am not selling on eBay anymore. Frankly, after all the fees and shit they take from the seller, the margins really aren't worth the inevitable headache. Sellers take all the risks. Everyone else benefits. Well, it's high time I got out of that unbalanced, pathetic model.

9  Economy / Auctions / Re: [FAST AUCTION] 8 Bitburner Fury boards ~50 GH/s IN HAND on: November 24, 2013, 10:47:12 PM
Dammit I gotta get some sleep and the auction ends in 3 hours. Ohwell, I guess my last bid will be 2.15 x 8 ..if I win I win if I lose I lose (most likely to the deep pocketed Truman hehe)

You could buy them for 1.5Btc each, not long ago, when BTC price were lower.
Good luck anyway.

True, until the btc price made everyone scamble for additional hashing power. They were overpriced then they are overpriced now. The only reason I'd be willing to pay 2.x is to replace my power sucking heat producing Avalons - which most likely I'll sell to cover some of cost of these miners. I have heard that cryptx provides no warranty for these so I'm a bit concerned about that. Not even a 30 day RMA period in case the boards contain a defect?

Nope. No RMA. No communication. Nothing. Once he sells you the board, you are on your own. He will not respond if you tell him you are having problems with your board. One of my boards died within 36 hours. I sent PMs, I posted on his threads, I sent email to the shop, no response. But he is quick to put up auction after auction. It's all a money grab.
10  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: BitBurner Fury IN STOCK MAJOR PRICE CUT SOLD OUT! on: November 22, 2013, 05:18:47 PM
Got 7 boards. 1 dead on arrival. Still working out what could be wrong with it. Never powered on. Don't have a multimeter to test until tomorrow Sad

...

I'll be very happy when I sit down tomorrow with some tools and my hardware buddy and figure out what's going on with the dead board!

I also have a dead board. The fuse is ok but there is a short on the board. Cryptx doesn't answer to my emails. Has anybody an idea what I can do now?

Similar situation here. One of my Bitburner Fury boards died shortly after it began hashing. It didn't even last 2 days. Maybe 36 hours. Now it is dead, no lights, no nothing. Just dead.

I left a PM for cryptx, but so far, no response.

I followed up with an email to info@asic-hardware.com, and I await a response.

By the way, I purchased these boards before the price was dropped to 1.5 BTC.

Let's just say I paid almost double that. Last week. I'm not pleased at all.

Cryptx -- I would appreciate a response. Thanks.

Hi,
Referring to order no:1509, upon receiving my 3 bitburner fury boards,1 of the boards does not power up/malfunction. Not any single LEDs are lit. I emailed info@asic-hardware.com and got replied which direct me to contact burninmining, which has not responded. Please help. Thank you.

Okay so there are some chips which have Beta printed on them and there are some chips with Bioinfobank printed on them. Some people claim that the chips which have Beta printed on them have slightly better quality.

Good to know. Thanks. Now I'm curious to see what is printed on my BitFury chips on my Belgian boards.
15  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: BitBurner Fury IN STOCK MAJOR PRICE CUT on: November 20, 2013, 05:09:32 AM
Received my order today, but I'm not happy with it:
1. USB port at one board has soldering paste all over it and USB plug does not fit it, I need it because I want to use the board alone without CAN bus
2. other boards hash at 33-38 GH/s (mean: 34.25 GH/s) mean ~42 GH/s with parameters "--avalon-options 115200:16:10:d:256 --bitburner-voltage 1230"

I tried various parameter settings with latest cgminer from git (https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer) as well as the one linked in the instruction manual (https://github.com/someone42/cgminer.git).

so: one board unusable, others way below "46-52" GH/s Sad this is not acceptable

Do your chips have Beta symbol or Bioinfobank ?

Goxed, I am confused. Given the BioInfoBank labels on them, is this somehow related to what tytus et al have been building? I realize they are also working with Bitfury chips, but is the private label attributable to them, and if so how did it end up in a board in Belgium? By the way Fex, that soldering job is utterly hideous. I hope cryptx can replace or refund that board.
16  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: BitBurner Fury boards for sale ~50GH/s on: November 13, 2013, 06:13:59 PM
Can anyone comment on the longevity of these boards? I trust the boards shipped to customers will begin hashing with no issues when they first receive it, but what happens a month from when the customer first uses it? Or three months later? I like the specs of the board, and I would appreciate it if someone can share their experience, preferably over a month's worth of experience with the board. Thanks in advance.

any pics of this cube thats coming?   i'd like to know if i should start saving for one or just keep adding blades Smiley
if we were to have them pics, we'd post 'em...

friedcat is usually the one who posts product releases with specs and pics...

Does anyone know what these are? They sure look like the much-rumored AsicMiner Cube.

I see USB, a reset switch, ICSP (for PIC?), LAN, Power, and a return to automobile-type fuse.
Also, this thing looks like it is comprised of a main board (which has all the connectors, etc) and a series of hashing boards. Similar conceptually to the Bitfury M-Board, H-Board setup.

Edit: Pics Removed. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303640.msg3571239#msg3571239 for better Images.

18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter Blade (New Model)]Low Price, Limited Quantity on: November 09, 2013, 06:56:30 AM
Anyone interested in an open-air case for ASICminer blades?

Each blade is secured to the tray via a custom plastic bracket.  The beam that the brackets and fans are attached to could be mounted on the opposite side.

Any comments/suggestions?

p.s. Does anyone have an accurate drawing of the backplane mounting holes?

Interested. My biggest concern is that 1000W PSU that I have plugged into my backplane. Right now, it is supported by the wall, i.e. leaning against the wall. Really a bad solution but I have no other options. If you can add a frame around your open air case to provide support for and securely prop up the PSU, I'm in.

Also, maybe an option to have a push/pull fan arrangement, so fans on both sides? A fan exclusively on one side of the blade may not be enough. My blades run very hot.

heading out to USPS in a bit

Canary... what box do I need for the cube? Ok, so I'm jumping the gun a bit  Grin
Let's revisit in a couple of weeks.
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official ASICMINER Hardware Information on: November 04, 2013, 03:35:49 PM
I for one am looking forward to a 2 btc 38gh cube.  but it needs to plug n play with bit minter's java client.   They will use 120 watts vs 300 watts that the usb sticks use to mine  the same gh.

120 Watts? If so, that is good news. Source?
