41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: February 22, 2018, 12:51:36 AM
The only issue is that Vutalik Buterin has been observed to have some very concerning comments that do not seem to be the apex of stability...
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080 started smoking on: February 21, 2018, 08:33:49 PM
Although it is a possibility, actually litting up fire is a very rare occasion with pc hardware.

My college roommate from Taiwan bought a DIY system at FRY's and mounted his new motherboard to the back of his case.  I asked him a few times if he knew what he was doing, and he was very confident, until he motioned me over to take a look.  He turned it on, and grey smoke began to billow out of the case.  The main bus had melted along the center of the motherboard.

Later, he was in wonderment when we returned it to FRY's as defective.  Explanation of issue?  "It melted when we turned it on."   Grin
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Check your risers, miners... on: February 21, 2018, 08:26:17 PM
It's always the connector, from my experience. They tend to be cheap and dangerous.

I switched out all my adaptors/connectors and use straight PSU to the riser, have never had a problem since.

This is good advice.  Thanks!

My risers came with adapter cables for sata, and I was using them, and wondering if they would really be sufficient.

Hope you guys can help with some clarification or instructions.  I've had LTC in Coinbase prior to the fork, did I miss out on LCC here?  I can't seem to find any coherent info as it relates to Coinbase.  Thanks in advance.

I can't be the only one in this situation... Can someone suggest a better place to ask this question or find the answer?  Coinbase support has been no help. The instructions on Litecoinca.sh state to wait until after the fork, which seemed to be the safest option.  But, I'm still up against not having my private keys. Thanks.

Coinbase did not support the fork.   You will not get any LCC.   Better luck next time!

Uhhh i tried googling this coin, and can't find it current value nor on CoinMarketCap, and maybe im little lazy(don't want to read 70 pages). Can someone tell me what is its current value, and which pool are you using? Thanks in advance!

Considering most of us cannot transfer LCC except to some of the more exotic exchanges, it's difficult to determine.

Crazy....LCC is at $5.67 at 1325 EST.....

What are the odds it's less than $0.50 by the time I've claimed my LCC?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to power a 2nd 1080ti on: February 16, 2018, 08:53:54 PM
Hi,

I was able to connect the 2nd 1080ti aero. I used the two 6+2 connectors to power each 8 pin of the gpus and the double molex to 6 pin adaptors to power each 6 pin of the gpus. I have one image here:

https://imgur.com/a/2PhHp

The gpu directly connected to the motherboard is mining zcash at 700 sols and the gpu connect with the riser is mining zcash at 670 sols. Is this difference normal? I have an image here:

Also, I have average temperatures of 83ºC in each card, is this ok?

Best regards,
Pauçp

It's interesting that many people told you not to do this, and you ignored them.  Yet you come back and ask is 83C is an abnormal temperature?   Roll Eyes

Hi,

I have send LUXCoins to Cryptopia and they have not been transfered to the exchange, but they are gone from my wallet. What is weird transaction id is, I can say, false? I am not able to track it, even though it has 677 confirms, it is now past 24 hours sind makeing the transaction. Anyone had the same issue?

If it is not on a block explorer you might be screwed.  Lot of people have complained about Cryptopia and Lux too.  I'm no longer mining until the wallet issues have been fixed. Still a HODLer tho.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt v3.8.2, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: February 15, 2018, 11:01:06 PM
I've read about 20 pages and the readme on the download, but I can't seem to find some decent Windows command line examples for AES-NI and non AES-NI CPU's.

Basic configs to start would be nice.  What algo's are most efficient for this miner?

Thanks!
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What happened to siacoin mining profitability? on: February 15, 2018, 10:14:29 PM
Bitmans A3 antminer (830 gb) but it will be even more bad when Halong Mining releases there 3.5 terahash (yes) siacoin miner that will not end well.

I would mine other things and buy SC if you want SC.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: February 15, 2018, 05:28:45 PM
In file EWBF's cuda 0.3.4b - have a trojan virus - BTC miner 982.  Be careful !

This is hilarious: miner is infected with miner. What's next? Windows is infected with windows?

This one is too smart, we have to sweep him up.  Notify the Windows Windows Virus devs!
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 09, 2018, 06:36:32 PM
Tested this.  Version 9.7 works fine.  Upgraded to 11.0 and my 1080 Ti works, my R280X works, but my r380 crashes immediately after allocating memory, and hashing never gets above 0.

I have the same 380 card working fine in Zcash, or older Claymore.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: February 09, 2018, 05:01:56 PM
If I am reading the numbers correctly, only Supernova & Minertopia are mining BTG.  When you look up BTG on coinmarketcap to get to a block explorer the global hash is 68.1 MSol/s.

Miningpoolhub is mining BTG as well.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash/BTG GPU Miner v12.6 (Windows/Linux) on: February 09, 2018, 04:35:36 AM

Experimental data. I posted an extensive list of parameters for this setup on the previous page. I wish overclocking GPU RAM increased hashrate too, but it didn't.

I was really hoping I could get 280h/s out of my 380X's using the settings you shared for your 280x, however, they lower my hash rate to about 209h/s per card. For me, setting my GPU clock to 900mhz and my RAM clock to 1625mhz produces the best result on the 380x in terms of performance/efficiency at 220h/s. Sure I can overclock my GPU to bring them up to 228h/s if I increase the ram to 1640mhz and uses an 1100mhz gpu clock as you suggested, but it uses so much more power I'm worse off. Just increasing the GPU to 1100 from 900 does nothing for me. I truly think this maybe a card dependent question.

@Claymore, my offer still stands, how much ZEC will it take to get you to make some improvements for the R9 380X (Tonga) in your next release?

I run both of those cards on one system using the 15.12 drivers and am getting 289 H/s on the 280x, and 217 H/s on the 380.  It doesn't appear that the power management functions are working on the command line either.  I might try the new drivers to see, but it could be a hassle for nothing.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: REAL NOOB DESPERATELY NEEDS HELP WITH MINING! on: February 07, 2018, 11:53:29 PM
I recommend you read any thread that talks about Claymore.  His miners are easy to configure, and tend to work right out of the box.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does mining in America die with net neutrality? on: December 15, 2017, 05:17:57 PM
Net Neutrality is about as much about it's name as the Patriot Act is about patriotism.

Besides, Obummer stuck a pen in his butt and said that Net Neutrality was important and decreed it to be so.  If you want real Net Neutrality, congress will have to act.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 12, 2017, 04:17:09 PM
I followed all the insturctions to mine Bulwark but for some odd reason, when I launch the exe file, it connects to an xmr mining pool which I believe is Supernova.

There is a difference between following instructions and understanding them.  Learn what your wallet address and your stratum address are, and then modify your config.

Are there serious investors looking at BCH?
