2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What bitcoin adoption really is. on: August 04, 2020, 11:13:53 PM
More people believe that bitcoin has value, more valuable it becomes; that's a simple rule of a store of value. So, bitcoin adoption is in level of people's trust. The higher level of trust bitcoin has, more adopted it is. I think while bitcoin keeps its properties, it will earn people's trust and become more and more valuable. In 20 years, no one will ever doubt that it has value and the exchange rate will reflect it.

Bitcoin as a store of value is pure an added advantages of bitcoin because when you go through the official whitepaper of bitcoin as published by satoshi Nakamoto more than decade ago, the true purpose and value of bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that give true freedom to people over their financial activities but sadly, majority only cares about bitcoin as a store of value in prder to gain when it experience price increase
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Illegal mass adoption on: August 04, 2020, 11:08:11 PM

I wonder what will happen to ATMs and what is their number, I hope the state will appropriate it and allow people to use them with reduced commissions.  Grin

without any doubt, the cryptocurrency ATM service will be suspended since US dosen't really support the activity of cryptocurrencies. I'm sure Mohammed will be giving quite a lenthy sentence since he's being charged with cases relating to money laundering. This should serve as a lesson for every crypto enthusiasts not to run a registered exchanges in countries where the activity of cryptocurrency is not fully being supported
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Covid crisis & evolving phases on: August 04, 2020, 10:57:53 PM
As the covid crisis is evolving step-by-step, started as a health crisis it is bending towards economic crisis which is showing an elevation from physical to digital.
Does Coronavirus pandemic will permanently change consumer behaviour towards digital currency?  Huh

No doubt, there will be a massive shift towards the use of digital currency for transactions because this pandemic has lurk around for quite so long but make no mistake, physical cash will never dies off. We all expected people should start using bitcoin fpr day-to-day transactions due to the pandemic but reverse was the case as there wasn't any feesible increase to the adoption of bitcoin because people have learned to use mobile bank apps and debit cards for transactions
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Always consider and be a wise investor! on: August 03, 2020, 09:23:57 PM
In 2019, it might be rather difficult to distinguish trends in knowing which types of projects might be a big success because there are many factors that need to be considered, but we hope that above all investors are more mature, more demanding and more discriminatory. Once again consider before investing in a project and don't give bait to the scamers out there!

No doubt, no matter how much a person try hard to do research and vet a project before investing in it, the ones that will turn scam will turn scam but doing proper research limits the number of scam projects one will participate in and that is Why It's so sad that many people are still falling scam for even the projects with no prospects at all... By the way, thanks to top exchanges who seems to be listing IEO'S on top exchanges, it drastically reduce failure of start up projects thereby preserving users investments
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you fear the president of your country, one day, making Crypto illegal ? on: August 03, 2020, 09:04:41 PM

What if, for example - like after that twitter hack - the President wakes up (in a bad mood) and decides with an executive order to make all crypto illegal in the USA?

Of course this probably will never happen in today's world, as the there is big money is invested into crypto currencies; but do you ever think that it is even remotely possible...

Or the next elected president is so "old school" and decides that crypto needs to go?

I don't mean only America, what about in your country; do think that a future ban on crypto currencies is ever possible in your country?

Yes i often do worry that the government of my country might decide to ban crypto one day because the media promotes how bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are being use for bad deals and considering how people are perpetuating scam with cryptocurrency, there is greater chance for governments to consider banning the usage of cryptocurrency around here! I just hope some members of the cabinet will know the good side of crypto well enough to debunk such idea when it get raised
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PlusToken Ponzi Goes To Jail on: August 03, 2020, 08:58:20 PM

It is not yet known whether the most important persons of this Scam have been arrested, but the fact that the scammers are systematically sent to prison makes me happy.

This is indeed a good news, defrauding people of more than $3 billion is a huge scam which should be frown at every sane level and it's really great seeing Chinese authority takes up the mantle to make sure the Mastermides behind the scam are taking behind bars.  I hope the scam victim will be compensated no matter how small
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What more can a project teams wish for ??? on: August 03, 2020, 08:48:42 PM
It's always for the best interest of the project if they use top exchanges to raise fund, there will be better results

1. Enough money for future developments
2. High trading volumes and enough liquidity
3. Exposure to more investors and whales and even traders

what more can a project team want?

This is why I've Zero my mind that serious projects will always aim for top exchanges, the results are already clear as crystal

I agree with you, Good exchange provide teams with lots of opportunity centered around fundraising and good tokenomics and it also contributes greatly to the future development of the project but not let's forget they need to have a well defined visions, aims and objectives in order to be able to deliver the product because i've seen many projects abandoned their project development after raising huge funds and got listed on exchanges
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can a corrupt team cook a blockchain? on: August 03, 2020, 08:42:29 PM
I have some suspicion a coin I'm staking had a team take over it that "cooked it's books" somehow.   The wallet keeps stalling and will not sync, and there are others on the thread/channel that say they are able to sync and stake. This has happened a number of times since a person took over the development.  The blockchain their new coin creates never works for more than a few weeks but supposedly for a couple people it does. Many chime in on the thread that they are not able to sync.

I know behind the scenes at the code level (or maybe node level) there is a lot of control a developer can have.   Is it possible for a corrupt team to make it that only certain people are getting stakes?

It's possible, nothing that teams can go around with... A friend of mine once had a similar case such as this and the project later fold up and that's why it is always advised that if you notice any foul play from team, you should just sell off your bag and move away from the project. It has been a common strategy use by teams to deceive investor and users, they will enable activities on the wallet of some people associated with them to give out testimonies but froze up investors accounts
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Bitcoin Wallet? on: July 27, 2020, 09:43:25 PM
I have been using Copay as my main BTC wallet for about 5 years now.
I never thought about changing to a different wallet, because I never had a problem with it.
But out of no where, I got curious about which wallet other people are using.

What do you think is the best wallet out there for BTC? (Other than cold hardware wallets like Ledger)

To be honest, this is the first time I'm hearing about this copay wallet, I've been in crypto space for years and i do use Multicurrency wallet for my btc, here are few examples of the ones I've used; blockchain wallet which can be accessed on both web and mobile app, another one is coinomi which is also a multi-currency wallet for other altcoins. I also do use atomic wallet, it has been rated multiple times to be the best Multicurrency wallet in the w hmm ole industry currently
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin replace Gold someday? on: July 27, 2020, 09:37:30 PM

Do you think that Bitcoin will be able to replace Gold someday? As we shift into the "intangible" world, people will "ditch" physical stuff in exchange for digital items. Bitcoin can become the new digital Gold which serves as a safe-haven asset (store of value) in times of need. COVID-19 will greatly encourage people to adopt Bitcoin over Gold as their next store of value of choice. Thoughts? Huh

Nope, bitcoin can never replace Gold because they are two distinct assets serving different functions in as much as they both serves as a store of value. Gold is almost as old as mankind, lived through different civilization and because of it preciousness, it will live to see more and more to come because people will always love to possess it. Bitcoin might properly holds more monetary value than Gold some day but that won't justify in any way that bitcoin can ever replace Gold
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM's in europe - ID limits on: July 27, 2020, 08:09:14 PM

https://coinatmradar.com/bitcoin_atm/13915/bitcoin-atm-general-bytes-budapest-edenkert-abc-0-24/

This looks promising if the 12000€ no id limit is true... But the info on that seems to be outdated quite often.

Where should I be headed?

There's only one way to confirm the authenticity of that information which is by trying it out even with little amount since they don't request for any form of identification! It is always difficult seeing an established platform that offers the sales and buying without kyc process or any identification but however, there are local vendors in my country that do buy and sell without identification but they are not on large scale, maybe you should ask your crypto friends around, they might know of a place
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of America now treats BTC and ETH as Cash on: July 21, 2020, 07:54:45 PM
Reportedly US Banks are going the treat Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and all crypto purchases same as Cash. In the crypto economy, this move is going to be a milestone. Cool

By merely going through your write-up, i don't think this news is authentic beside you didn't back it up with any source. Let's even assume it happens to be true, i don't think it is actually a milestone for this industry. We are pushing for mass adoption and recognition but definitely not like this one because if the bank of AMERICA should ever treat the purchase of cryptos as a cash, we will definitely lose the good side of crypto besides i see this as a way of feds trying to milk out from crypto enthusiasts

I agree with you, this is indeed not a good news even if it's true becuase it is a way of the government trying to control the activities of bitcoin and if that happens, bitcoin will lose its original use case which is meant to be a decentralised digital assets without no central authority. Next time, posters should always attach a good reference source so that we would be able to verify the originality of the news
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will NEVER reach it's ATH anymore. on: July 21, 2020, 07:51:32 PM
I totally agree with you, a lot of people sees bitcoin as just a quick get rich investment option where they can see their investments increase beyond imaginations within a blink of eye, it is not really healthy for the true use case of bitcoin. We need to see beyond just the speculative aspect of bitcoin and promote it's use case of decentralized money and only then will see a steady growth to it's adoption as well it's price
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I buy cryptocurrency? on: July 21, 2020, 07:44:38 PM
It's been taking too long trying to find one that works well enough to use. I just want to start buying coins already.

If i understand perfectly what you really want, you are looking for cheaper and secure way to buy crypto coins as well as a good wallet to store them. Considering the fact that you are in US and most of the platform doesn't have the jurisdictions to operate in the US, i don't think you much of an option but I'll suggest you stick with Binance platform as they have a well secure wallet (trust wallet)  and they have an exchange dedicated for the citizens of US (Binance US)
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need bitcoin? on: July 21, 2020, 07:37:59 PM

Well, do we need it? Because, I can see that people use it only as an investment or as a money laundering tool. Black markets rebornt after the creation of bitcoin. I tried to convince someone to use it, but you know what? I couldn't. Why? Well, honest people don't afraid the central authority, in addition with the dishonest ones. Those who want something that is illegal, cannot do that. So they use bitcoin.

You are not entirely wrong to be honest because money laundering and investment purpose are the two most common uses of bitcoin currently and until the entire crypto industry looks at and make good use of the true purpose of bitcoin, it can be said that it is not really needed. Talking about the true purpose of bitcoin, it's meant to provide financial freedom but then again, if you ain't doing something illegal why should one need to hide his financial activities from the authorities. I know good intentions were behind the creation of bitcoin but bad people are using it for illegal things
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons from the Past: When bitcoin's price stabilised on: July 18, 2020, 11:53:42 PM
Lately, we have seen a lot of investors and crypto speculators saying that bitcoin's price movement is somewhat boring because it has been trading sideways for many weeks now. But I want to share something a similar incident or some scenario from the past. It was 9 years ago, early market's early stages but there's a pattern already. So this is a good time to remind everyone to just HODL and wait for the market to do it's thing.  Smiley

https://twitter.com/rockerest/status/91885405368098816

Indeed History keeps teaching us lessons from the past which means we have a great hedge in understanding the market trend better than the early birds because crypto market seems to be working in a circle and we saw how it unfolds years back, so definitely there will be a huge run very soon!  I just hope everyone would have enough stock in his/her portfolios then
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to recover funds from bitcoin scam on: July 18, 2020, 11:48:45 PM
This is obviously another scam and I'm glad you've not taking any step to send them your funds, the @_jacob.armstrong guy obvious saw you as a target he can easily prey on and out of him being smart, he thought it would be more convincing if he gave you a scam email which in created because i doubt if that email belongs to slushpool.com due to the fact that it dosen't end with .com rather it did with .com.uk! Scammers will always find ways to prey on people by devising any means possible
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies are safer with top altcoins on: July 14, 2020, 09:31:23 PM
In as much as most newbies might seems naive and gullible when it comes to making investment decision, i think not only the newbies ought to stay clear of most of these new projects emerging everyday unless the particle project shows lot of potentials like reputable team, good products, IEO on top exchanges and big partnerships if not, investing in already developed projects is the surest decision everyone should always take
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My eye opening advice about crypto projects on: July 14, 2020, 09:10:40 PM
I can't agree more with the factors you listed out. The most important thing everyone should loook out for is the exchange and and big partnerships, especially if the project is at the phase of IEO, the success depend solely on the exchange the tokensale gets listed on because advisors and algorithms plays just very little role in the success of projects in this 2020. Nice advice, i believe everyone especially the newbies will learn from your advice
