21  Other / Obsolete (selling) / [SELLING] Safety_Bit, a MtGox application to auto-trade Bitcoin on: June 09, 2011, 03:48:51 PM
I have an application that I have written myself available for use. All this program does is automatically poll MtGox at a regular interval and place your entire Bitcoin amount up for sale IF and ONLY IF the price ("buying offer") ever drops below a specified threshold. This will appeal to people who want a safety net for the Bitcoin price, should it ever drop below an undesired figure.

The application can be run on either Linux or Windows and is written in Perl. Please PM me with offers, or contact me directly in IRC (shooter_mcgavin) .
22  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Recent Events At Bitcoin Market on: June 06, 2011, 05:44:46 PM
For reference, PayPal closed my cases in the buyer's favor before enough time had passed for anyone to even look at the evidence I provided. I will be surprised if even one of the people scammed recovers his money through the PayPal dispute process.

I'm getting the impression that PayPal is intentionally trying to shake any connection between itself and Bitcoin.  That is, they WANT to burn people and discredit Bitcoin to new eyeballs.

This makes the most sense as Paypal has had nothing but stories of frozen and locked accounts with anything Bitcoin related. They're as much of a competitor to Bitcoin as Blockbuster was when Netflix came out...out with the dinosaurs, in with the new.
23  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Namecoin <-> Bitcoin Exchange on: June 03, 2011, 07:07:35 PM
Namecoin is the currency used to perform maintenance & register domain names for .bit addresses. It's the only currency that the system accepts (intrinsically) and is mined in the same fashion that Bitcoins are mined.

Everything went EXTREMELY smoothly for me. I signed up with my google ID without any issues and have made successful trades. Excellent work!

26  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Namecoin x[18,000] for sale (locked in price, regardless of market) on: June 03, 2011, 02:07:39 PM
For sale I have the amount of 18,000 Namecoin at a price of [110 NMC] -> [1 BTC]   ...this exchange rate is independent of the market rate once locked in & can be considered contractual on the seller's end.

Please do not spam or post unless you are serious about purchasing. Thank you.

27  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: 19,000[+] Namecoin (NMC) for sale on: June 01, 2011, 04:34:55 PM
There were no contracts involved in the transaction, this was all verbatim. There were literally no assets lost or compromised in this, so bashing my reputation as a seller will get you nowhere. I've had a spotless transaction record in the past & my involved parties had a change of heart upon seeing the difficulty increase before the enacting of Namecoin transfer. If anything, you're simply upset that you didn't get 20k Namecoin at a bandit's price. Stop griping..honestly, how childish.

Hmm.  I don't get how you have a "locked in" trade for 48 hours.  That's a pretty long time.  Did you explicitly agree that you were going to take 2+ days to settle the deal?

I was available the whole time. He kept saying he had emergencies at work so I kept waiting to finish the deal until he canceled it.

I can verify that this is true. I don't aim to justify it, I'm simply saying that it's business. I didn't postpone on purpose -- I was not physically able to make the transaction due to extenuating circumstances at work. You didn't lose out on any currency & were most certainly not ripped off. I'm going to leave it at that in order to minimize meaningless forum drama. I'm sorry for the inconvenience I caused.

I'm not sure. I was able to access it days ago.
31  Other / Obsolete (buying) / Re: will pay 2 BTC for 1 BTC with traces of that pizza on it on: May 31, 2011, 03:37:26 PM
amazing, it seems a bitcoin is a bitcoin is not true. some are more valuable than others.

This is no more than a coin collector looking for a coin with a certain serial number or print.
32  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: 19,000[+] Namecoin (NMC) for sale on: May 31, 2011, 03:30:09 PM
It may look poorly if I were your buddy, but this is business. The market has taken a drastic upturn & both parties have lost nothing but time in the "locked in" deal. I can understand your frustration, but please understand that it's business & nothing more. If the Namecoin are available at a later date, I will make it known.

Aren't you on the list of Namecoin sellers?
34  Other / Obsolete (buying) / Re: Buying aircraft for BTC on: May 27, 2011, 07:37:05 PM
Open offer: 10,000 BTC for http://www.cessna.com/single-engine/skycatcher.html

Currently about 115,00 USD each. I would like a *brand new* one (less than 50 hours) delivered to any airport of my choice in the USA.

If you're looking to put serious money into bitcoin, but don't want to move the market, this is an option.

You didn't happen to sell a pizza in an earlier life, did you?

+1 :]

35  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitDNS Bounty (3500 BTC) on: May 26, 2011, 03:49:50 PM
Is this different than the current Namecoin (dot-bit.org) bootstrap project, or are they one in the same?

They are pretty much the same.

Pretty much? Smiley Are the current Namecoin currency compatible (on the same system) as this?

Seller with a great record.  I'm glad I took this opportunity to get into bitcoins.  No hassle at all.  You can get some bitcoins and start trading with them while you're setting your accounts up with exchangers and whatnot.

Dunno why, but this reply makes this scream "SCAM!" to me.  Maybe I'm being paranoid?

38  Other / Obsolete (selling) / 19,000[+] Namecoin (NMC) for sale on: May 24, 2011, 07:30:11 PM
I have over 19,000 NMC available for bulk sale, with larger orders available upon special request. I am actively involved in the Namecoin project & a community contributor as well. I have solid reputation on IRC, check out #namecoin on freenode and send me a PM if you are interested in making a purchase.

[SOLD!]
40  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Selling 1GB gtx460 (fermi) on: May 24, 2011, 04:33:38 PM
For obvious Bitcoin reasons, I need to get rid of my Nvidia card. I bought it only a few months ago brand new & it runs like a champ. If you wanted to mine with it you could expect around 40-60 mhash depending on your rig (going by the comparison chart here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison )

I have sold to several people & am actively involved in the Namecoin community to vouch. Asking price is 17 BTC and shipping is free to the contiguous US only. My apologies to everyone outside the US.
