1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: February 15, 2018, 08:20:30 PM
I say it is "bricked" because it is basically useless at the moment.  It stays in a constant reboot cycle.  It never starts mining before it reboots, but I can get to the various web pages for about 1 minute.  I believe I have time to download firmware to it before it reboots, but don't have the right firmware file.  All I  have and can seem to get is for an E9+.  I have read through all the posts here and it seems the only firmware ever discussed is for the E9+, never the E9.  Any idea where to get it?  There is obviously no support forthcoming from the a$$holes at eBit.

Thanks

Something else must be wrong as the latest update works for both the regular e9 and the e9+ - an important thing to keep in mind as I sold mine, and then had it returned as it would not connect or begin mining is that baidu thing brought up early on in the thread. - I believe that if it "thinks" you are mining from a location that was not the original purchaser's location (even if you ARE that person) it kills it. so FIRST try to put that address in your hosts file (can't remember it now) and 127.0.0.1 on the computer that you are using to reach the web interface.. THEN even if it is in chinese switch to the other bank, hard reset (shutdown psu) then after getting it back up, see if it still refuses to connect to the internet. Not 100% sure on how to trick it into thinking it was in the original location if that is what it needs, but I'm pretty sure it gets location data from the pc you are connecting with not the miner.

disclaimer: I'm not truly clear on if this will work, I only know that when the guy mailed back the miner it worked on my end. the rest is my guess as to what is going on. If it doesn't work, holler at me and I'll see if I can't figure out some other way.

secondary would be to see if you can't get someone who has worked out firmware that let's them in to ssh - I'm sure a few people somewhere have copies. (side note if anyone has one with xnsub and ssh access I'm looking hehe.)

So basically selling is questionable, which is pure loss.

http://miner.ebang.com.cn/en/index.html

Is this the official site? it seems very sketchy to me? also does this run like the Avalon where you have to buy a separate controller?
very interested in a few of these if they are legit. but ive been scammed before and I am very hesitant.

This is the site. Every miner have its own controller like antminer.

Well I think if you would upgrade to a new firmware you would get the access to decide between CH / EN like they shipped to me. In the further posts ppl explain how.

The admin access to the miners does allows EN/CH;  I am referring to the tool they supply on their website

It will switch to english if your windows is in english. Mine is working ok, and application is waist of time.

Does not switch to english on either of my computers?Huh

Their support sent me an English version of the miner tool EbiteMinerMini[EN]V1.0.2.50.7z

It actually works pretty well, allowing you to set the frequency and fan speed, amount other things

fan speed is directly linked to pll so you can not change it

I skipped other order and payed for several avalons

Does anybody have had this problem and able to solve it with the Ebit E9 Plus 9Th/s miner?

Fans are not spinning at all.

0 rpm.

These are brand new  Ebits.

I'm wondering if this is a hardware or a software issue.
These are hosted, so I'm not able to inspect them directly.

Nothing happening at all? Or is it showing no number for the fan speed?

Fans are not spinning at all and it shows zero for the fan speed.

It ended up being only that the fans were connected in a wrong way.

And little faulty hardware, one hash board fried.

Be sure to do a very careful inspection for the hardware you order from Ebang..

HagssFIN   could you link  the  page to buy a 9th miner?

I have this link  I want to be sure it is good.

http://miner.ebang.com.cn/en/products.html

That is the right website.  Smiley

They have few different date batches with different prices.

Be aware that price in invoice is always the same, no mater what price is listed on website. And invoice price is what you pay for VAT.

Update through web interface or with Ebit Miner Mini application. Use Chrome if you update through web interface. When you update trough interface, it seams that nothing happens. At first gadgets on main page go crazy after some time they are ok again. Just restart and verify in System->Status that version is changed. This update for web page stop respond bug.

Hi,

Does anybody have contact details , other than those on the website ?

Bought a Ebit Miner E9 Plus 9T  early Sept 2017, paid via bank transfer and then nothing!!!

Tried emailing all the addresses on website .... nothing!

tried skypeing people on website .... nothing !

Any help much appreciated!

Write to Ivy on Skype, and send her bank transfer confirmation, she will move things on. Also you have to note that they all were in Dubai for expo, so first half of October no one was working.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cal Alarm on: October 13, 2017, 08:23:33 AM
Does anyone know what the "Cal alarm" indicator means?  It seems to trip if I set the Mhz ("PLL") too high.

It means that currently is not reached max calculation performance (avg in 60 seconds), nothing more, when gadget show above ~8500 it will turn off.

I'm still confused.  What is "max calculation performance"?  Should I be concerned if it's in red yet well below 8500?
It's probably just the current hashrate of the miner. Depending on your batch this could be normal, the original E9s were made to hash at only ~6.5TH. If you have a 9TH model then this means there's something wrong with the miner chips or blade.

Thanks.  It's a 6.5 hashing at 5.7Ths.   One more question, do you what "Network Flag(change auto restart)" Bank1 vs Bank 2 means?

When you update software it goes to other bank, so if something goes boom you can return to previous version, after each update banks 1 and 2 are alternated. In System Status menu you can see what software have in bank 1 and bank2.

Some sort of indicator that it is stable hashing

Have anyone tried to overclock e9 and what hash rate have reached?

I tried updating the firmware on 6 of my E9s and all of them fail in the same way. Can anyone provide tips on how to get the firmware to upgrade?

I try to upload the firmware referenced a few posts ago and when I hit upload this is all that happens on any of my machines:

try another browser, for me safari did not work but firefox did

It works with Chrome and with their EbiteMinerMini V1.0.2.50 trough tftp

cam someone share the latest software?

I have new (20.32) (https://we.tl/ETdbC02E2Q) but I was unable to upgrade it via webbrowser or via SmallToolSoftware (upgrade is successful, but after restart nothing changed - still old version). You can try. Let me know.

New firmware (v. 20.33) - https://we.tl/zksmpBqpos

Anyone know if they even plan to put upgraded firmware for download anytime soon?

what is the firmware version you have on them. There is nothing available as download from manufacturers site  Angry

soft_v6.0.20.25

i have a little problem with the other one.
the website seems buggy, it gets set to chinese,
i can switch it to english but the custom data in cgminer config is fu*cked up. cant read or change anyting,
i just saw the ethernet connetion with a red warning in overview and device info all "sunbest"
now i cannot connect to website anymore

miner is still hashing.

guess i need to manualy restart it if it stops hashing xD

I had the same problem (red ethernet flag and broken clocks on Dashboard, but all miners hashing well). After hard restart Dashboard accesible but before 24h problem is back.

Today I was on Skype with Lynn, and via TeamViewer sesion, they upgrade my miners to soft_v6.0.20.28. I just looking if it solve a problem. Let's see tomorrow.

does the new firmware fix it ?

I had it on 6.0.20.32 after 3 days, yesterday I updated to 6.0.20.33 and I am waiting

can you share the firmware?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/x5h1nyopk293b9p/btc_upgrade_6.0.20.33.tar.gz?dl=0

Is this firmware for the 6.3T or for the 9T only? thanks for sharing it btw!

9T, but my deduction is that firmware is same, only clock is different.

Their 9TH are way overpriced compared to Bitmain S9

If you can get your hands on a Bitmain machine, while you're ordering for far in the future with no real safety of difficulty, or what happens at all in the market.

The E9 Plus T9 (what's in a name) is being sent out the 20th of Oct, so you'd be having it at hand in about three weeks from now. Or pay 100 USD more and get it shipped right away. There's 155 in stock atm.

Better mine 2 months than stay and wait, from order to mining mine take less than 2 weeks, and they are plug and forget.

thx! Much aprreciated

I by accident opened firmware archive, and what I see is that system PLL is set to 800 MHZ

I saw in another previous version 600 PLL, too ;-). I supose that you should set to 750 PLL.

After update it is on default 750 so no point.
