1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about this XCP token with total: $1,714,046,848,000 marketcap? on: December 03, 2017, 05:36:31 PM
I suppose you are referring to Diamondbond.

First, the xchain website and coindaddy looks so messed up and don't show fully on any browser. Lot of information are behind some div's and not showing well.

Getting over that, on their website novendoclub is not much information. No transparent things, only promises.

And the one i hate most when i see from somebody who claims that they are the best is:

Quote

Investment platform with guaranteed returns

That's very promising, right? Guaranteed is the best thing you can have  Grin

Also, no details about contact page except a Skype and FB account.

And on the right side hahahahaaa... they even didn't bother to check their accounts or make good ones.

In facebook is a private group, in G+ is nothing posted and tweeter acc does not exist.

There is a linkedin page and a subdomain to their main one (i found them only after searching on google) that have few information in such a chaotic way and with some misspelings with their own name (here http://noveond.com/diamondbond/):

In investors-newsroom
Quote
Cryptocurrency DiamondBond
We are actively trading the alternative investment currency DiamodBond.

And lot of information is not in english (looks like czech) so we can't understand it.

How much this things are telling you?

They don't bother to write anything good there and even not checking the spellings in their writings. Only promises without a base.

I think from the start you should understand what it is for you. And at that value please don't try to play with it  Wink Smiley

If you gain them somewhere, maybe sell some now just to have fun and also some gain from... nothing.

But be careful what are getting in.

Or... maybe not doing anything it will be the best.

Cheers

Let' agree on disagree my friend. 50 years....take my word
There is no place for central banks in the future.

Lending and borrowing, and small banks? maybe.
It can be done in a different way. Banks are only intermediaries, they don't lend you any money. They are just intermediaries between lenders, borrowers, plus an insurance company. Say you need a 100k$ mortgage.....it will be x1000 people that want to save 100$. Me and other people will be ready to lend you the money @3%. Just missing the platform. You can call it a "bank" if you want.

The "future banks", are the nowadays exchanges...  Embarrassed
With the only difference that, in this moment they are worst than any bank. Not that they can block amounts without a reason, manipulate the markets and delay transactions to make you loose from the time you want to get in or out, but they CAN DISAPPEAR over night, no matter how big they are.

You can't go to their office to knock at a door and do something... they don't care about you or anybody else, they care just to make tons of money in any way. And who knows how many bankers are involved there (that in the press are against that trend).

That is the big issue now for normal people, at how they can get access to buy/sell without having so much knowledge and read so many resources about x, y etc and have a safe place to do that.
This regulations will normal to be made. To allow the new changed world to become part of the existing one.

Also, as i said, banks can't disappear over night. The whole system is made and controlled by them in this moment. Which will not be in the future.

In 2008 one of them, made that scheme and crashed the market. Then bitcoin came to life.

We shall see what it happens.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking with your bitcoin on: September 12, 2017, 11:16:20 PM
As you put this question, why would you want to keep bitcoin in a bank?
Its purpose was to do exactly the opposite, to be your own bank.

There are some tokens that say will help to make faster transactions and all other stuff, but regarding banks holding your money it is giving them back their power. They can block them, make them lost or whatever they want again and again. Like the "big" exchanges do now.

Yes, you are referring to banks for that, knowing that they are safer than these exchanges. And here comes the old story. You give them control for your assets because they have government trust and insurance in a limited amount. But again, then you are not holding your money anymore.

I see some problems for holding bitcoins or some of good altcoins in wallets because many people don't know how to use a computer, not saying to make a wallet. Tell them to make cold storage wallet and see their reactions  Roll Eyes.

Yes, here it should be a way with some certified "banks" or exchanges to have them for that kind of people or just for old people... here it will be an issue when it will go to a mass scale.

So, the big problem here is regulatory rules that will come in the near future to say that they accept it or not as legal in that country. Then, normally it should lead to have a safer way to exchange them with some trust for the big exchanges or places where it will be for buy/sell for fiat.

And also, to who said about banks, they can't disappear, at least not over night. The current system can't be changed overnight, the same as electric cars can't be made overnight as main cars because the infrastructure. Elon Musk did a lot to open the road for free electricity in "gas" stations and from what i see things are changing in a good way. Lot of countries announced that electric cars will be in big percentage in a few years. But we know them exist for last 15-20 years.

Let's hope here the trend will be quicker 5-10 years with all of the new technology that is coming.

Till then, hodl them good in offline wallet.

Hmm, it is almost the beginning of the "big war" from governments, banks and institutions that don't want the bitcoin world to enter.

Of course there are bad / good sides to everything. That's the world we live, to have a balance. Nothing is perfect and it will never will.
That they see now, that their "perfect" world of destroying lives is to an end.

But, as the cnbc post says (m/2017/09/12/jpmorgan-ceo-jamie-dimon-raises-flag-on-trading-revenue-sees-20-percent-fall-for-the-third-quarter.html]https://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2017/09/12/jpmorgan-ceo-jamie-dimon-raises-flag-on-trading-revenue-sees-20-percent-fall-for-the-third-quarter.html):

- "It's worse than tulip bulbs. It won't end well. Someone is going to get killed," Dimon said.
- Bitcoin fell to trade around its session lows after Dimon's comments.
- Dimon's criticism comes at a time when some well-known figures on Wall Street are starting to embrace the cryptocurrency.

and as other one said above he, for sure is hodling some good amount of BTC and making abuse of its status, is doing a little bit of fud to buy more  Roll Eyes.

That, among its real fear of bank business going to a lower curve and who knows where it will be in the near future. This sistem cannot disappear, at least not over night. They should learn to coexist and help new technologies come into market.

All this supposedly big personalities, make sh*t ton of money on fud like this and they appear to be the biggest opponents of the movement.

I also think, that they know how to manipulate the investments in the bitcoin world to have advantages and us, the little one to be always on the hard side.

With less talk about this kind of people we'll can make the suffer for ignorance. But i don't think that could happen in todays world of useless facebook media control and real media missinformation.
With media bs will start the real war, when nobody will know for sure what is happening.

Exactly how is now with China ban or temporary ban or... whatever they want to release for the viewers :-))))

So, for traders, it can be a good time to paly around. But for normal users, they should hodl and try to not go with all this news all the time.

I watched yesterday some interviews from John McAfee and i was smiling at the truth he says. He said in one that he went to elections just to have a big platform where he can inform people of security issues and all this fud coming out.

Cheers
5  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin.com wallet - Error: Could not import: Wallet recovery phrase is invalid on: September 06, 2017, 05:48:04 PM
Yes, after i put that text from json file it is the same address in both wallets.

But with the phrase it is my problem. And i checked the spelling several times.

Also, as i said in first post, there is an option to scan the qr from desktop wallet to have the exact phrase.
I did that to be sure that i'm not wrong with spelling it. And did not work that way too  Sad

So, it's not spelling error...

Although, thanks for testing that Wink

Hy,

I was reading the newbies pinned posts and also the wallet ones. I entered the crypto world late june this year and till now made some ideas of what is going on.
Being bitcoin.com wallet, i hope this is the right place to write.

One of pinned posts being the:
[General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0#post_types

Ok. Let's talk about my problem now.

At the beginning when not knowing anything and bought a tiny amount of btc and eth i was starting it at bittrex.

I also made a bitcoin wallet downloaded at bitcoin.com. I was thinking that is the best place to try at the beginning when not knowing how things works and who to trust (i know... nobody :-), but some trust must be in a small percent to can go on).

I don't have stored yet any btc on this one. After this week readings i wanted to learn to use it better and know how to back it up and restore.
Well... went on bitcoin.com downloaded the windows wallet also.

My problem:

Now i have windows and android wallet from bitcoin.com
The android didn't worked at that time so i made a new wallet on windows, made a backup with phrase + pass + file saved.

Then i went to android wallet and cleared data then removed and downloaded again (i don't know how it works so needed to be sure to not have first one from test still active).
Pressed the Restore from backup -> Choosed Recovery phrase -> entered it then press IMPORT.

Error: Could not import: Wallet recovery phrase is invalid

Ok. Tried with show advanced options and used the pass that i made on windows backup wallet.
The same error (i also tried to scan the qr code for phrase to be sure for misspellings).

Hmm... ok i'm a newbie... but saw the option File/Text.
Remembered that i saved a file on local disk... Went there, copied only the text, sent it to phone and paste it in the app.

Voila... it worked... hmm.

What is the catch that i don't really get or i just think it may be? Why phrase didn't worked?

There is no live connection for them to sync, they just must be restored only through that file/text? Why it asks for Recovery phrase then?

When searching on web about that i found:
Release v3.7.3 · bitpay/copay · GitHub - https://github.com/bitpay/copay/releases/tag/3.7.3

And saw there Bitpay . exe  and Copay . exe.

I read now in main wallet post (from main forum), that Copay is a universal wallet and saw other talking that it is a good one. But when i reached there and saw that 2 executables didn't know which to choose. I just tried bitpay to see what is doing and saw that installs in program files and exit it. Didn't install anything.

Final questions:

1. Can i still use the "same" bitcoin.com wallet for windows and android (maybe for ios too) when is not seeing my phrase? Or is that normal and at the first install i should paste that text?
2. I don't see where is private key (in that json file saved?) - the only backup i have is that json file with pass i made...
3. Can be used the same for BCC - as it has a ticker in the recovery step

Thank you
