442  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] 20 USB BLOCK ERUPTERS / USB HUBS / USB FANS on: August 12, 2013, 08:28:46 AM
I doubt you will get anyone dumping their prices.. Just recently the price went down alot. To be sent on Thursday from a USA group buy.
In the area of 0.35BTC pending on your volume ordered.
If i were you. I'd wait until wednesday for next diff.update with any further investment.
The BE's have never made roi for almost anyone i think. So, with next update, even .35 could be a tough one. (next update could be above 50 in Diff!

I see you have Avalon covered but don't you think you could open Bitfury and ASIC miner treads next?

One is late other out of stock and fuck a lot of buyers at 2 BTC and 1BTC? You can wait first to see if BFL will deliver... But if you need data they are all published...

Heh, not asking for my poll.. Asking to spread my investment.. Since Avalon doesnt seem to happend.
Ok, feel free to update your OP with dates next to your orders! And (days past due...)

what dates did you place batch 1+2? when are you expecting delivery?

Anybody know why Shenzhen Goldtech Electronics Co. can supply 100,000 Avalon chips per month?
http://http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/994289436/Avalon_chip_A3256_Q48_avalon_asic.html

This may have more to do with the people who work at the chip company running extra batches for themselves, which is STOP in China.

They are a reseller / trader. Don't even have stock.. Said to have in ten days. i doubt it though. (have chinese contact speaking with them directly, would buy with my contact hand over hand).
446  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 11, 2013, 03:14:21 PM
What a load of BS, since when does a late shipment qualify as stealing?

Since when he is not allowed to engage in legal actions?

I starting to notice that you and others participants are trying to deter people to undertake legitimate ways to compensate their loss.

So, explain to us, why are you and others criticizing people which is trying to find a way to enforce their side of the agreement?

Well said.
There is nothing ever justifying being 5-7 weeks late on a 9-10 week promise. This is also a very time critic product. This is proven by current late batches, no one is successfully filling group buys, as there will be no roi 9-10 weeks from now..

Let me give a few examples:
Avalon:Customs are holding our chips
Well, cry. It is your export facility that is failing. Contact customs and arrange the problem. While you are at it, tell your clients WHY it is held in customs. (with proof). And then, suggest proper compensation for your lack of management skills.

Avalon:Half of our staff ran away
Well, cry. Again, not our problem. You work with b2b clients giving strict delivery deadlines.
And then, suggest proper compensation for your lack of management skills.

Avalon: The orders became to big for us in a short period of time
Well, cry. Again, your inbound order size shall not in any way, ever punish your clients. And then, suggest proper compensation for your lack of management skills.

Can we stick to the point? Or are we now all suddenly exchanging life experiences?
448  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Product Teasers] Prototype hubs & more from Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: August 11, 2013, 11:41:57 AM
what chips are these based on? (i mean 1.2gh, to be 2.5gh, that doesn't sound like avalon. Smiley)

Definitely not Avalon. BPMC is boycotting any Avalon product until refunds are resolved on the Gen1 chips the failed to deliver on time.

We will reserve the type of chip for this miner until we are ready to release more information after we have finished more prototype testing.

449  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [POLL/VOTE] What should Avalon do with our past due orders? on: August 11, 2013, 11:31:05 AM
Avalon needs to provide proper information on the chips and give refunds to the customers

Yes agree. This information should have come halfway through the ten weeks delivery time. NOT five weeks AFTER delivery due date! Then we could have decided then what to do, stay on or ask for refund..

I hope everyone gets refunded ... even better would be for yifu to show how much he cares about the btc community and to use all those extra chips to create k1's and to sell them at cost to people interested in entering into the mining world.
truth is 80000 k1's in 80000 new peoples hands would do more for the price of btc then any of these start up asic communities will ever do

seriously? more chips mined equals higher btc price?
and avalon has their own boards. k1 are open source project. (avalons boards are also open source).
452  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 10, 2013, 08:21:32 PM
Maybe we should ask Yifu for some free gen 2 chips to make up for the late delivery.

Or flat out cancel our gen 1 orders and replace them with gen 2?
wow. I hope that's sarcasm because if not certain life lessons are clearly evading you.

haha, hope is the last thing that leaves you?
453  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 10, 2013, 07:43:57 PM
As a customer with a substantial order, I think steamboat's approach is the best one.

As another customer with a substantial batch 1 chip order, I agree. Worst case scenario for me is that I end up building my K16s, attempt to recoup most of my investment and hope that BTC does well over the next year. Keep in mind that Bkkcoins is still developing the driver for the K16. People forget that chips are only a small part of getting (and keeping) these boards online. Having the chips in hand doesn't guarantee anything if there are still kinks to be ironed out. I do believe the chips will eventually come, however late for many customers, which is unfortunate.

What I won't be doing is letting my emotions run wild and start calling for Yifu's head when we don't even have a clear idea of what's going on. I suspect those who think they do either invested more than they could afford to lose, are trolls, or want to discredit Avalon. I knew what what I was getting into months ago and I'm not going to jump ship now.

Yes, either way, the facts are minimum 5 weeks past due on a TOTAL 10 week lead time. With little to NO explanation of a nearby solution.
yes, 200k chips are in customs (maybe), they do not take weeks and weeks to have released. Most of the time its unsupported packaging quantities, or mistakes in quantities per box on invoices. What one needs to do to fix this, is to repackage and stick on a new invoice on the packages. I've actually done this once with the exact description i mentioned, it was 2 containers that we had to recount content, and package in different packages (as it was food related, they had a max per box limitation), this took a few days to do. So, surely, if it was me arranging this, i would be fully clear on the difficulties approached, and then people would understand. Running in hiding just creates suspicion and i do believe there's something wrong here: if there was a split in the company, did someone run off with chips?, did the HK trader get 1.4M chips that should have been sent to others, just because he placed a huge order?
454  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 10, 2013, 07:34:28 PM
Thanks for weathering the storm with us Steamboat.  This position sucks, for both you and us.  Up to this point I was still optimistic about these chips and units.  At this point I think it is time to try and leverage a discount on these chips, although I understand there isn't much you can use to force the issue since BTC transactions are final.

EDIT: man this sucks.

"BTC transactions are final."? They have a refund option on all pre-orders of the 10k batches, and avalon is a company.
Some groupbuyers have done it, but no reply since, and first one i've seen was done six days ago.
Just because the monetary transaction used was BTC, doesn't make their actions legal or able to be left unaccountable for.
http://support.avalon-asic.com/ , this is where the purchases can be refunded..

Sorry, I meant that BTC transactions are irreversible.
http://bitcoin.org/en/you-need-to-know

Sure, doesn't change any legal obligations though. It's an American Company.
455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 10, 2013, 07:26:28 PM
I have tried not to put too much thought into the ongoings.

My only concern now is setting up a tip jar for Steamboat; for handling the group buys, being patient, giving excellent service, and obtaining the materials to build high-quality "shovels" and "pick axes" that us crazy miners need to have our crazy fun.

Steamboat, will you please provide a BTCitcoin address where we can send you gratuities?

Hm, all groupbuyers had minimum 7% markup on the final orders. Even if refunded, i suggest they keep that for the hassle.

Yifu has posted a response regarding the chip delivery delays, which can be found here: http://avalon-asics.com

Unfortunately, the post does not provide any specifics on shipping dates moving forward, and offers very little information about the delays experienced to this point. Our inquiries by other means specifically regarding our orders have remain unanswered, and we have not received any information as to the status of our batches from either Yifu or any member of his team.

For these reasons, we have chosen to close Batch 7. Those who have placed an order for Batch 7 have been sent an email with further information.

We remain optimistic the chips which have already been ordered will be delivered, though we do not have any information as to when our orders will be fulfilled. We are exploring our options, and will continue to monitor the situation closely. We will post an update the moment we have definitive information.

So we all should forget about klondikes and just keep buying eruptors until the pie in the sky stuff coming maybe by end of year arrives???

I didn't even expect to have boards yet anyway, my earliest orders were steamboat batch three, is that batch even late yet? Seems to me its chips were not expected yet anyway so there is still time for them to arrive within the expected timeframe...

-MarkM-

Sadly you are wrong..
"SteamBoat Batch 3: Order #10325, Purchase date May 22,2013. Expected delivery date mid/late July. "
Going on 2 weeks on batch 3. For sure, should be able a refund on all batches SteamBoat made.

And about eruptors, yes, keep buying them, but keep in mind that after Wednesday, the difficulty should land at minimum 45, expected 47. That means, a price at around $25 should maybe make you some of the money back, pending on next update of difficulty.. I would buy some if they were at $15, where some roi could potentially happend. I mean, i dont even expect the price of the coins to stay, with more coins coming to the market, and miners needing to sell immediately to get roi back. There has to be more people fleeing to sell, than fleeing to buy in a short period of time.

The choices of the poll are way too easy on Avalon it should reflect the fact they are in BREACH of CONTRACT. They have no legal foundation right now to keep any money for undelivered chips. Posting a poll like that needs to reflect the reality not concessions for Avalon. They have had their time to rectify this situation and deliver in a timely fashion. At this point they need to refund or face a full scale boycott coupled with lawsuits.

feel free to pm me a change if you want.. there is one more free poll selection also..
shall we put: "i'm done take them to court"?

I suggest you apply for a refund ticket of all batches with avalon.. That could bring some fire up their asses.. Some other group buys have already done it. But that would be up to you and all the participants i guess..
