Thanks for the info man, it really helps me. I am in the middle of browsing in coinmarketcap website and scrolling looking upon coin, luckily i found this thread first before i read about that amsterdamcoin whatever on the link. Lucky me.

Yeah, about your last post OP. I think the owner didnt know about this thing and he is just a victim too, but even that being said, it would be a really good thing if the mentioned owner of that website can give explanation in here, or in the forum.
282  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: June 04, 2018, 09:59:59 AM
There must be something wrong, and i bet it is the quality is not increasing that much. Well, it could be other problem tho.

I know I see many posts that I would consider giving merit to if I had it. I really think that 80 merit sources aren't enough. Some them have been vocal in saying they can't find enough posts to use up their allocation so it isn't getting regenerated. Each of us has different interests and get involved in different threads. If the merit sources were more in number but each with less sMerit to use I think it would work better.

Same, there are posts or threads that i would consider giveng merits too, but if i had more merit. Yeah, we need more merit sources, and i think sources diversity, like adding merit sources from specific rank, would add more movement in the merits circulation, because you know, sometimes higher rank member have high expectation and standard for a post that they end up didnt give the merit for the poster. I would say adding merit sources for specific rank will help this problem, but of course that sources candidate still should have the ability to distinguish between great posts and not.

But it is only my idea, and it has flaws too.
283  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: June 04, 2018, 08:06:49 AM
From 48K to 19K this is a big fall, idk if this is only because the initial sMerit now is almost totally distributed or because there are less quality posts.
Lets see if in the next month the number will fall under the merit source limit.
Quote
There are 80 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 18500 sMerit per 30 days

I'm pretty sure it is the initial sMerit running out as my personal experience is that there has been an increase in quality posts. I'd like to know how many of those 18,500 sMerit are actually generated every 30 days. If a source doesn't spend them then they don't get replaced 30 days later. I think only theymos could access that data unless anybody can confidently identify all 80 sources.

Well, quite agree with TheQuin. But if it is the initial merit, it should have been half from the 48k. If i made the calculation. Since the time of 48k, then 48k-18k(merits from sources) then we got 30k initial merit for that time right right? Then if we divide it by half, then it should be 15k initial merit circulated for the last calculation, and if we add it with merits from sources it should be 33K maximum for the last part, but it only 19k. There must be something wrong, and i bet it is the quality is not increasing that much. Well, it could be other problem tho.
284  Other / Meta / Re: A good way to obtain merit points on: June 04, 2018, 07:10:05 AM
Well i dont agree with the indifferent things. I like to be myself, and if you want to get merit then it would be better if you become the better version of yourself, each day. The indifferent things will be work on how you deliver your post to get merit, like making an infographic, statistic, facts, humour, sarcasm, etc, that is how you make yourself indifferent. The other thing you can consider as strategy to get merit is the timing on posting. You got to know when is the best time when people are giving merits, it helps to increase your chance to get merit/
285  Other / Meta / Re: How to prevent spam posts? on: June 03, 2018, 12:24:55 PM
Twitter of Facebook bounty are not so annoying, because these are in the bounty thread and they are just increasing the no. Of post in this forum.Everybody knows this ,so nobody read those.

In my opinion more annoying is signature bounty, because in this members have to post fix no. Of in fix time.No matter the quality on matters the no of post with predefined characters.
So members have to post without thinking about the quality of post.

What kind of logic is this? Do you think if they spam with quoting style like that in the bounty thread then it is okay? Nobody read those doesnt mean it doesnt affect the server in any way. Spam is a spam no matter what, and you can not left out that kind of bounty posts as "not so annoying". And for signature, they have minimal character per post and then if the managers are the high quality one, they wont count the spam as eligible posts. Trust me, i have been in the signature where this 1 guy got kicked by the manager with no payment because he is burst posting even though he is doing a good posts, it is also kind of spam you know.

Bounty posts spam is also a spam, period, and if i may add, bounty spams are worser than signature spam.
286  Other / Meta / Re: Solution to stop Newbie-Jr.Member spamming on: June 03, 2018, 08:01:44 AM
Lets be honest here. Who want to log in to the forum and must review posts which probably they dont like? Well i dont want to , especially if it is happen everyday, and if it is free, because not everybody has a lot of free time in this world and even if they do i guess they will be using it in another great way.
287  Other / Meta / Re: Losing Merit? on: June 02, 2018, 04:12:35 PM
If you got merit for a post, you won't lose it, and it doesn't matter if the post or the thread in which its in gets deleted.  That's one of the things I like about the merit system--it's permanent.  You can lose activity and posts, but you cannot lose merits once received.

I really like the idea of merits are permanent once you earned it, but the farmers use this method to cover their farming act and i guess it is hard to track it back for normal member, unless the tracker is moderator or administrator i guess, but once again, there are not many moderators in this forum to prove some merit farming act.
288  Other / Meta / Re: FAIL: Distiuish between quality and bs posts on: June 02, 2018, 09:32:06 AM
I sometimes got my post deleted by the moderators, but so what? If it is deleted then i think i made a mistake in the posts so i do not complain that much, it is gone. You just need to make other posts which as good as before and keep the pace on making great posts.

Or you cant distinguish between yourself mistake or other mistake?
289  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Idea on: June 02, 2018, 08:01:39 AM
I guess this is not a great idea because it would defeat the main purpose of merit itself, to be a quality poster of this forum, to help others, and other positive acts that is related to this forum. By getting merit when we send sMerit, it will increase the way of merit farmer to get merit and of course people would spam it a lot.

The best idea for getting merit is to increase your knowledge about crypto and help others.
290  Other / Meta / Re: Celebrating my 0 to 100+ merits and demonstrations of impact on: June 02, 2018, 06:59:15 AM
This is a good work. I dont even know why there are so many salty people over a good work. Yes, you are posting a lot about merit, and yes it may look like you are sucking higher member a lot, but what you did requires a lot of work and i myself really like this kind of work. Infographic, facts, stats about merit is a great work and require a lot of time to finish, so i dont mind if people are getting merit from it. Those salty people just prove us that (some) human is just a selfish and jealous creature over people who have done better than them, while they think they are better than those who are better.

By the way, is there a list from 100 to 500? I kinda lost on the thread hehe.
Oh, i found the 100-250 list, maybe you can add me on that list.

And i forgot the most important thing, congrats mdayonliner, way to go to 250 !!!

295  Other / Meta / Re: I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. Please give me another chance. on: May 26, 2018, 12:24:44 PM
Your plagiarism can not be undone even it is only once (but hillarious mentioned you made not only one plagiarism) and it is a big mistake, either in real life or internet life. Not only plagiarism but you also do burst posting to catch up your campaign requirement, which can idicates to lot of things such as doing a lot of alt accounts. Take this time as a lesson. Never seen people get his/her plagiarism ban lifted in meta section, or in this forum.
296  Other / Meta / Re: How to get Merit – Cashi's useful tips from a Newbie for Newbies on: May 25, 2018, 01:57:35 AM
The most appealing things in your suggestion is "try to create unique post", it is the same with my thought. There are lot of people can make good posts but they deliver it normally. So it is also good to create our unique style on how to deliver a post. Look at some example like nullius, he writes long post with some humor and sarcasm in the post. There are others who made post with infographic and statistic, which for now in my opinion, can earn a lot of merit by making it.

So my suggestion is, try to learn making a statistic and infographic, you will have a higher chance on earning merits.

Is this allowed create " Unofficial List of Bitcointalk Merit Source Users"?
You can have a good idea on who are sources here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsendat, we can assume 90% of them are sources.
Cheesy Cheesy
I have a list of all merit sources, want to shear it.

Maybe you could start a thread with that information, and then post a link in this thread?  Personally, I would suggest that you describe your methodology regarding how you reach such conclusions, too.

I will look at your thread and comment on it, if you make it.

Even though it will (maybe) bother some merit sources (because maybe they will get non stop PM containing a merit begging message), i would like to see it too. Adding some data like number of merits has been given by them personally would be great for the thread. Hope you can make it.
298  Other / Meta / Re: Suspicious user (to me at least) on: May 16, 2018, 01:33:09 PM
Looking up to his/her merit story, and the post that gained merits, i would think the same way as you man. It is too obvious but what can we do, admin already stated that tagging a merit trader between friends is kinda not right and he stated that the abuser will run out of their merit soon.

Lets hear about other members' opinion, especially dt's.
299  Other / Meta / Re: How to remove 90% of scammers from airdrop/blog bounties/signatures on: May 15, 2018, 01:53:32 PM
Well im not 100% sure that i am an excellent member of this forum and worthy enough to not to be in the list, but i think managers must have a standard like SMAS list or DarkList. I do believe if "some" managers put works and times for their job, this forum would be less spammy than right now.
300  Other / Meta / Re: Liar exposure, stubborn and shameless! on: May 15, 2018, 11:23:05 AM
snip
How could such a person happen? For the first time, I heard about the existence of such a person in the forum. It seems that trading here is not safe. Why not prohibit the sale of accounts?

There are many of scam happened in this forum, so it doesnt surprise me. The best way to deal with scam is to avoid all kind of shady transaction like buying/selling account. It is already stated in the rules that buying and selling accounts is discouraged. So, smart people will avoid it.

It can not be prohibited, sometimes people buy and sell account outside of this forum. The best way is only to tag and make sure of the sold account is not used for something shady.
