401  Other / Meta / Re: There are many smerit holdings but not readily given. Could we punish them? on: April 21, 2018, 04:23:50 PM

Instead of asking for punishment against them, why don't you ask for tips, advice on how you can improve your posts, or silently follow them, see how they post, their grammar and so on.

Because that requires intelligent appliction. I've tried a number of things to help, and I'm considering running down the Fit to Talk site due to lack of interest. It seems that if comments don't earn merit, or promote bounty scams, then they don't want to know.

Well, it happens to me too. Do you remember my replied to you back there when i was saying i made a group for my local member to learn and talk english in the group. It is not too active anymore, only 2-4 person who talks in there. Maybe you are right, everything about this forum if that is not giving they money, it doesnt motivate them.
402  Other / Meta / Re: There are many smerit holdings but not readily given. Could we punish them? on: April 21, 2018, 02:45:27 PM
This is the funniest thing i have read this day, let me laugh for a while, hahaha. Why would someone punished for doing nothing or not giving anything? It is hard to earn merits so people will make sure that they give smerits  to the right person. Some even have a high standard for choosing the "right person".

403  Other / Meta / Re: Why did mods delete my thread without warning? on: April 20, 2018, 02:58:29 PM
It seems as though mods put my thread in the trashcan without sending me a warning PM.

Background story:
I was tasked by by an ICO to post their announcement thread but they refused to pay me afterwards. I put a scam tag on their thread and it seems that mods of the forum silently removed the entire thread (with responses and everything)...

My thoughts:
I think that this level of intervention from mods is unacceptable. The ICO now decided to go with another manager but the old thread should remain for archival purposes.

At least put my thread in the archive so it's accessible by others instead of silently deleting. Are mods trying to take this scammy ICO's side?

MODS! Please re-instate my thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3088804.0

There must be something wrong in your ANN thread. I have seen a lot of translated ANN thread and most of them is only translated by the topic starter and then they left it and sometimes they response to people answer. More to that, it is home for every spammer and the topic starter never moderate their own ANN thread so you have your answer, it must be one of that, so mod do their job good.
404  Other / Meta / Re: Is it too hard to get Merit? (not a CryBaby post) on: April 19, 2018, 09:25:25 PM
You joined the forum almost a year ago, so why are you now concern about ranking up?
If you had been active from August 2017 to December, probably you will be, at least, full member by now. So you didn't have interest in ranking up then, so, why now?

Just curious...

There are many possibilities for this, but i guess the main reason is, you know, money, and probably this account has been used by different person now. It is just a maybe or an if, i dont accuse this OP to be like what i have said, but the reaction that he had 1 year ago with now about ranking up is so different. So, i am just curious too.
405  Other / Meta / Re: "Great project. Good luck" posters, what to do with them? on: April 19, 2018, 08:00:00 PM
As you say Sir and Ma'am,  as long as they are paid to do so then they repeatedly do it, and to stop them from ranking up I think that was the sole purpose of the merit system to oppress new members who are just effortlessly typing two words or three word to a certain thread.

But on the other hand,  there are also people  (let say 2 out of ten), who says "good project",  because they believe so that is good because they read info about the project. And not everyone are.judging them to because of this two liner comment, so before reporting them you might as well check their post before this issue...

Malachi 3:10

Well, spamming is a spamming, no matter what your reasons to cover it up. If you really think the project is good, you could say what makes them as a good project, and discuss with other member how others think about the project and what about their expectation of the project. If you like the project and can say it is a great project, i am pretty sure you know about the project, even if it is not too detailed.
406  Other / Meta / Re: A Network of fake accounts bumping threads, attempting to spread malware. on: April 19, 2018, 07:11:36 PM

Well it has some severe virus in there, what ever the malware is, i guess it can do some serious things like stealing information or making your computer as a miner like some malware back then. Damn there are so many crimes everywhere.
407  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 19, 2018, 07:10:02 PM
There are many members who sold merits right now but i dont suggest you cheat the system by buying or trading merit because what comes after that will make you regret it all the time, the same regret as why you did not buy bitcoin long time ago.
For those abusers, punishments like permanent bans and red tags waiting for them. Never should try abusing any system of the forum, including merit system.

Fair enough. I’m actually more interested in giving it away than acquiring. Chicken meet egg.

But you can not give away merits if you dont acquire any sMerits from people. Do you really get the basic of this merit system? Please read again the OP.
408  Other / Meta / Re: A Network of fake accounts bumping threads, attempting to spread malware. on: April 19, 2018, 06:34:29 PM
What kind of malware? Any idea? I guess we really need that new bitcointalk sooner, with some updated security and other things that can prevent this kind of botting and spamming.
409  Other / Meta / Re: Received a body threats from user MOSSAD. (Need Global Moderators) on: April 19, 2018, 06:30:01 PM
This is very serious. I hope this kind of action can be processed as fast as moderator can and the member who are doing this can get the punishment he/she deserves.

You are doing a great job yet you get this kind of threat. I am sorry man, but keep up the good work !!!

410  Other / Meta / Re: Signature campaigns need more merit? on: April 19, 2018, 05:34:55 PM
Hi everybody
I'm a new member of this forum (3 months), I find that many people in this forum need "Merit" to do signature campaigns rather than having a forum with quality posts (less posts spam).Try to help newcomers to this forum, create quality articles, create help articles like posting images on forums, creating forum posts, tips for your friends on the forum. v... v. Do not think much about merit, you will find things easier
This is also a spam post. But it makes me feel relieved to say what I think about merit, I know only some people like that.
Sorry for my English not good

What? You know that your post is a spam yet you still post it? What is wrong with people nowadays? You can at least talk about your rant in the offcial topic about merit made by theymos, yet you made new topic for it. Next level of spam?
411  Other / Off-topic / Re: Urgent {??} Please help define what is possible. on: April 19, 2018, 04:58:23 PM
I was trying to understand what you wrote but I couldn't!!!
Sorry, maybe my english is too poor but, if you can, please explain fully!!

I dont understand too about what he is trying to say in OP. For OP, please make it simple and clear mate, we would like to know and maybe share some perspective on it.
412  Other / Meta / Re: "Great project. Good luck" posters, what to do with them? on: April 19, 2018, 04:41:10 PM

To what rank though? If it's something like jr member then they'll just spam elsewhere until they reach that rank. We might find that some people will be lazy and wouldn't do it, but that's when they pay for bumping services. As long as people can make money they'll continue to find ways around it.

Restrict posting on most boards to members and above. Also limit sigs to text only for those  below member rank. De-rank purchased accounts back to brand new status.

Your suggestion is good especially the part on de-rank purchased accounts back to brand new status, but how to decide the account is bought by other people? Any special method? IP?
413  Other / Meta / Re: Challenge ! From newbie to Full Member. Let's see if merit system works on: April 19, 2018, 03:52:30 PM
I see challenges but i see no reward, why should people do this challenge? If you just want to prove, then see some statistics that some member made on met section, there are so many newbie and jr. members who ranks up to the next lvl, and i believe there are some goes to full member.
414  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 19, 2018, 02:48:57 PM

Is there a way to purchase merit to give away like Reddit gold?

There are many members who sold merits right now but i dont suggest you cheat the system by buying or trading merit because what comes after that will make you regret it all the time, the same regret as why you did not buy bitcoin long time ago.
415  Other / Meta / Re: Is it too hard to get Merit? (not a CryBaby post) on: April 19, 2018, 02:45:21 PM
Hello everyone!
There are just too many variables and it is really difficult for new members to rank up. I have seen people with more Activity than me with 0 Merit, being jr. members or memebers (with difficulties). Is tehre any chance for the revision of the Merit system?

Thank you for your time and have a great day!

This is not quite right. Having a lot of activity doesnt mean you would have a lot of merits because lot of activities doesnt mean you are a great and high quality poster, and to counter your statement, there are many people that have a lot of merits but low in activity points, why dont you bring this up? Because you only see the bad sides of this system.

And no, there will be no revision in near time i guess.
416  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit system not working properly inspite of having a good concept ??? on: April 19, 2018, 01:16:41 PM
This is one of my favorite saying. If you are looking for that specific things, you will find it even in a place that seems impossible to find it.

So if you are looking into the number of people that didnt send their merits, you will find it even in a place where people give merits a lot. It is just your perspective man, and even if you find a reason why merit is bad, it doesnt mean that merit is not working.

snip
Every one of those is enjoying this system who already became Hero Member or legendary like you because Merit is of nothing use to you...i feel it very bad that people like you are just always use bad words whoever complain about this merit system...i am not complaining about merit system as its the right of the theymos and he can do whatever he wants and we have no right to complain about anything...
but my problem is with you guys...some already rich and established members of this forum who always use bad languages to a newbie or a junior member...and tell them things in a very bad way..
it's true this system has been running well though not 100% but what we complain here is sisitem to mendaptkan smerit of merit that we get seems the day will mengurucut example: I get 1 merit then automatically we get 0,5 smerit and this will apply to its kelipatanya and when giving 1smerit on the other then they will get 0.5 smerit and this keep running and finally smerit will run out

For bolded part : this forum doesnt have the obligation to make you rich and established, so stop make a correlation with how this forum give money to people.

Last part, come on man, dont use translate google. Why there are so many members like these nowadays. I guess what Jet Cast have been said is true.
417  Other / Meta / Re: Improving Quality on: April 19, 2018, 12:59:24 PM
I mostly agree with what you wrote, but these lines, are exactly my thoughts.

It is still very rare to find a discussion which is not highly technical in focus that is of a somewhat decent quality. I would love to have a good debate about, for instance, the economic, social, financial, ecosystem etc. impact of bitcoin and crypto-currencies, but very quickly every topic gets flooded with one liners, empty statements withouth any reasoning, and often not even connected in any way to the topic of the thread.

Once I had a discussion at a thread with Bitmover about the electricity consumption of Bitcoin, and how big of a problem that is. However that thread was locked, and I dont know where could we further discuss that.

If anyone knows what part of this forum would be the right place to open a thread about it, please let me know.

Or you can discuss it on the mining thread, because electric consumption is one of important aspect in mining bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
418  Other / Meta / Re: Twitter campaigns posted on the beginners board on: April 19, 2018, 04:16:57 AM
I was pretty shocked by a reply to one of my posts. The poster said that if I wanted to talk about Bitcoin, I should clear off to Reddit. This board is now all about bounty.

Is this really what it has come to?

Really? Is that what he said? Then this forum has become a playground for a spammer who does not even have respect for this forum. People like them need to be educated (or eradicated) for the better of this forum.
419  Other / Meta / Re: What is the next level after Legendary on: April 19, 2018, 03:01:31 AM
I am a Legendary now, what is the next level?

I would add next level of rank after Legendary if i am the administrator of this forum, but not for this time, maybe a year or 2 years after merit system introduced, and i would name it Ultra Instinct.
420  Other / Meta / Re: Posts getting vanished on: April 19, 2018, 02:57:23 AM
Moderators doing their job to delete the useless thread, it is natural. I had some of my posts deleted in this recent days because i see my posts count is decreased a bit.

Maybe this can be one reason why they don't care/know about merit (I guess a lot of them don't know/care about merits, because they are always on the edge at the weekend when the campaigns counts posts.).

I guess not all low ranked member who only care about post counts, there are some of them that care about merit and ranking up too because some of them only use 1 account. The only answer why some of them dont care about merit and only care about post counts is because they have a lot of alt accounts even though the rank is not high, and they need to fulfill the minimum posts per week. Imagine if someone have 10 accounts, then he must post 250 posts per week, and most likely they will spam in the same megathread, so when threads are gone, then all the 10 accounts wont get the payment.
