861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Airdrop Scam on Trust Wallet via Links on: August 25, 2023, 03:16:21 AM

Beginners beware of Airdrops that will redirect you to their website through the provided link around the shiny coins you see on your wallet, where you will be required to fill in informations in other to claim the reward, follow the instructions as provided above and avoid their website as it leads to scam if any information is provided.
It's a very common way of scamming people, but HEY!!! it works because there will be, and will be ignorant investors, and beginners out there who are falling very easily into these kind of traps.
I mean if only, if only they research first before they decide anything that includes their investments, I guess the chances of them getting scammed will be lowered.

I guess it's good that I didn't scammed that much when I was a newbie because I'm very hesitant at that time, and because of being hesitant, I lost many opportunities as well that could've made me a millionaire. Kidding aside, this is a good awareness for those beginners out there that they should think twice or even thrice before joining into these kind of airdrops. I guess it would be better if they will just simply avoid airdrops at all in order for them to prevent getting scammed.

New York Times is reporting a quote from Giannis Antetokounmpo where he alludes to signing with a new team for the first time ever. Definitely trouble for the Bucks. He’s going to play for them this year, but to me it sounds like he’s preparing them for a departure after the season. If he goes to the Warriors and pairs with Curry, it will be the greatest team ever built.
After that huge blowout loss against the Heat in only 5 games last playoffs, that might've affected Giannis' trust, and faith with the organization, and to the players as well.

I mean you're the top seeded team last season, and you will just get defeated by an 8th seeded team in only 5 games. That's shameful TBH, and that's why he said on the interview "If everybody's not on the same page" is because he don't want to happen what happened last playoffs.

Now regarding him going to the Warriors, who will the Warriors be willing to give up just to get Giannis? I mean I can't think of any players, and TBH I don't think that the either of the team are interested in trading their own players. Bucks aren't interested in any of the Warriors right now, except for maybe Looney, and they don't want Green IMO because he's old already. Overall, I don't see this trade kind of happening in the future, but who knows. Cheesy

I already shared my strategy. Set up a selling price, and stick to it whatever happens.

I understand why you closed your post with that sentence, but really is it right to ignore whatever happens left and right and sell regardless? If you feel and see that the hype is real and backed with reasons that make sense rationally, why wouldn't you adjust your target price then? If some things feel different and maybe the regulatory environment makes a massive turn in favor of Bitcoin specifically, I would definitely adjust my former considerations.
Of course not.

After all, it will depend on the current situation, and I guess since I know how to read charts a little bit, I will also make some adjustments like you said. I said that I will stick to it because I always want to be safe including my profits, and I mean I wanted to make sure that I will take profits this time unlike on the last bull run where I just watched the markets going down where in fact, I'm a few clicking of buttons away from taking it.

Will I adjust my target price? Yes I will, but it will depend on some factors, and circumstances.
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC will hit new high, as crypto bull billionaire predict on: August 24, 2023, 08:16:31 AM
Nahhh, as if we don't know that it will happen. What a display of stupidity it is.
I mean for what? For popularity? For hype? For fame?

They might be rich in money, but they aren't rich in knowledge, or in this case they have no mind at all. Sorry for the words, but they are just predicting what's obviously gonna happen. I mean just look at the previous cycles that happened during the past decade. Bear market - Accumulation Phase - Halving - Bull run. It happened already multiple times, and now they are acting like they're intelligent now, making a prediction on something that we as investors, and has been known Bitcoin for a long time that we know will happen a few years from now.

Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run?
Yes I gained something at the end of the bull run.
I gained DISAPPOINTMENT, and REGRET.

Disappointed on myself that I didn't took the opportunity at that time to sell my Bitcoins, and my altcoins. Regret that I didn't do any action. I was few buttons away from selling all of my assets at that time, and I always look at my portfolio at that time. I really wanted to sell at that time, but I was hesitant, thinking that it will go up even more. TBH, I didn't have any concrete selling plan at that time because I'm thinking of holding all of my assets for a longer period of time. Turns out it was a completely wrong decision for me to wait even more.

I know, I know that there are some here who have plans of holding their Bitcoins, and other altcoins for a long period of time, maybe longer than mine, but I believe in the saying "Don't fall in love with your assets." If there's an opportunity to sell then sell it as long as you have profits on it, and wait for another opportunity to happen again. There are lots of opportunities in the crypto market. If only I sold all of my crypto holdings last bull run in 2021, I will keep half of my money to re-buy again during the bear market. Turned out I didn't bought as much cryptocurrencies as I wanted to.

I will not miss this another opportunity again. When the bull run starts, I will sell all of my holdings.
866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you go about realizing gains? If you opt not to, what is your reason? on: August 24, 2023, 02:31:21 AM
We're currently experiencing a bear market phase. How do you intend to secure profits once the market undergoes a turnaround? What proves to be the most formidable obstacle in executing this strategy? If your intention isn't to convert profits back to fiat, kindly explain your philosophy regarding this choice. Newbies in this platform like me could gain insight from your past experiences.
Setting a target is a very vital thing when it comes to securing profits, and I hope this is the one that most of the investors will learn in their journey.

How to I intend to secure my profits? I already set up a target selling price ever since the start of the bear market. My initial selling price is around the previous ATH I think, then the next one will be at around the $85,000, and then most will be sold at $100,000, but I will be keeping some of my portfolio if I think that the market will go up even more.

What proves to be the most formidable obstacle in executing this strategy? Yourself. You because you aren't following your initial plan. As an investor, having a buying plan, and a selling plan is a must or else you might end up losing the opportunity to either buy or sell. If you have a target price on either buying or selling, whatever happens, do it. The problem is when the target has been hit, they will think "Ohhh it will go even lower, so I will wait a little bit to maximize my profits", or "Ohhh it will go up even higher, so I will wait a little bit."

I already shared my strategy. Set up a selling price, and stick to it whatever happens.

Re: How to Keep Emotions in Check and Maintain Strategy as a beginner
Experiencing the hardest is always the best teacher.

I always believe that experiencing it first hand will teach you. When I was a beginner, I might call myself lucky because I didn't get scammed a huge amount of money, and it's because I didn't let my emotion decide what I will do and instead, I did some research first, and decide after doing that. With that kind mindset, I managed to dodge some of the scam projects that I initially wanted to invest my money in. Though there are times that I got scammed, it's just a small amount (probably around $5 to as high as $10).

After all, experiencing making mistakes will make you a better person not only in investing, but in real life. Experience will make you adjust, will help you to control your emotions, and to come up with a better strategy.

I'm curious about how one could create a Binance account using fraudulent documents when they have a live face verification process.
Technology is growing at a rapid pace to the point that it becomes a problem for most of the users already. With AI, for sure this will happen even more in the future. Deepfake the pictures, AI, and a bit of knowledge is what the scammers need in order for this to be successful, and can't be detected by Binance.

I always watch videos on Youtube regarding Indian Scammers that are being busted by these Youtubers. I find it very entertaining for these scammers to get busted, and who will not be knowing that they're very notorious in scamming people.

This is the reason why people must not give their personal information to the public ever. The problem with most of these investors is that, they're very gullible that when you say to them that they will give at least 20% interest, they will fall for it even though it costs them personal information including bank accounts. What's the solution for this? I guess letting them experience will teach them what to do next in the future. Letting them experience getting scammed will make them realize that "Ohhh I don't want to give my personal information to a random stranger anymore", but TBH, this is a no-brainer already because why in the hell will give your personal information into somebody that you don't know personally.

Overall, this post is all about awareness for those newbies out there who are trying to join into these scam telegram channels. Please don't join, don't give information to strangers, don't be too gullible, and be vigilant.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 23, 2023, 11:24:44 PM
^ I have my doubts that Zion will ever be able to play a full 82 game season. He’s just too big to be a professional basketball player. The speed and strength of this guy almost ensures an injury. Healthy, he’s the most dominant player the NBA has seen since Shaq, and more athletic than a young LeBron. If they did figure out how to keep him healthy for the rest of his career, he would no doubt be one of the best to ever do it.
His body being too big might be cause for his injuries, but I believe that it can be solved thru exercise, scrimmages, healthy diet etc.

With our league now being a fast paced game, for sure it's hard for Zion's body to cope up with his strength, athleticism, and speed. I don't totally disagree with you that he can't play a full 82 game this season because it's hard to be healthy all throughout the season just by looking on how the pace is. The only player that I saw played 82 games straight for the past couple of years is Looney, but he's a slow center unlike Zion.

This is the reason why the Pelicans are hesitant to trade Zion to other team despite of him being an injury-prone player in his first years with the league. His talent is a generational one. He's has strength, athleticism, more faster than other players as well. I mean if only he wasn't injured last season, I see the Pelicans at least at the 4th spot or even higher at that time, but sh*t happens, and he got injured, and that ruined the team. Like you, I'm also hoping that he will be healthy next season, and for the rest of his career. If he will not become healthy this season, and got injured again, there's a high chance that he will be traded to another team already.

And I just hope that he will not be involved into another issue regarding women. Cheesy

Do you use any trading bots?
Which ones are they and how are they doing?
PS. I hope I placed this in the right category.

Relying on trading bots alone is one of the worst things that you can do as an aspiring trader. I mean you want to be a successful trader, but you don't want  to learn what you need to learn, and instead you will just rely on trading bots? I'm not using trading bots, but I can already see that trading bots can't give you guaranteed profits.

As for signal channels, I tried joining in one of them already, and I had a bad experience. What I will only say is that, they will try to milk your money so they can earn more. I don't know if it's only me who experienced this, but these wannabe traders who are giving signal to their followers have at least 3 levels of channels or even more. You are in the lowest level, you will receive the signal a few minutes late, and when you receive the signal, it pumped already. I've seen it first-hand, and I don't want to ever rely on both the signals from these stupid scammers, and trading bots.

Still, the best thing is to learn it yourself. Having knowledge will be your power that will make you a successful trader. It will take time, and money for sure, but it will be worth it. Smiley

TBH, I might not be involved not only in cryptocurrency, but investing in general if I didn't know this forum. If this forum didn't get introduced to me, I might still be working my ass off for 8 hours out there, and earning minimum wage. No hard feelings for those users here who are earning minimum wage in their respective places, but I don't see myself working like that for a long period of time.

I'm a bit shy to say this, but cryptocurrency, and this forum itself really changed my life. Both opened me into the world of investing. I can just imagine myself if I didn't know this forum. I might not be investing currently, and still focusing on playing online games though I'm still playing, but I know how to manage my time.

There might be some toxicity, rants, criticisms, fights that are happening in this forum, but aside from that, we can also see the information that we needed to learn more about Bitcoin, and crypto in general. I see the forum as a diamond. Do I consider myself lucky to be in this forum? Super lucky. Smiley
872  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What could be the problem here? on: August 22, 2023, 08:45:37 AM
What do we think could be the cause for a trader that has been experiencing a win and lose repetitive occurrences in his trades.
~
Has anyone had such experience? If yes! Then how was or could it be solved or stopped?
The situation is getting psychological.
His/her decisions.

I'm not expert in trading, but I tried trading already, and I believe that the reason why I lost most of the time with my trades is my trading decisions which often leads me to losses. A win trade means you had a good decision, and vice versa. How can it be solved or stopped? I don't think there's any way to stop it aside from learning from your past experiences. Experiencing it first-hand would be better because you can adjust, and make better decisions in the future. If you experience winning, you might stick to that strategy, and if you lose, you will make some adjustments, and better decisions.

Overall, it's psychological like you said. The problem is yourself, and the only solution for that is to fix yourself as well.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: August 22, 2023, 08:20:26 AM
Tron and EOS.

Tron has been a disappointment ever since. Justin Sun is just hyping his project, and I don't see any developments from the project thus, I really didn't follow this project. If there is anybody here who is a follower, and investor of Tron, can you please share if there is any developments, or upgrades to this project because I might change my mind if there is.

EOS has been on the downfall ever since it's rise in 2017-2018. I've followed this coin, it's developments, upgrades etc. until 2018 where I didn't ever hear anything from the project anymore. I also have a bad experience for this coin since it's price is increasing in 2017, and I really wanted to buy this coin, I wanted to borrow money from somebody, but rejected my loan. Good thing is that the rejection is a good thing because months after that happened, the price of EOS went down very hard. During the last bull run, it didn't even reach it's 2017 highs of ~$21, and it only reach I think $15. Still I will not buy this coin anymore.
874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin does not provide full anonymity on: August 22, 2023, 04:16:23 AM
Bitcoin is commonly referred to as "pseudonymous" rather than fully anonymous. Although transactions are registered on the public blockchain, the connection between wallet addresses and individuals' identities isn't direct. Nevertheless, transactions are traceable and subject to analysis. Additional information can potentially link specific transactions to certain individuals or groups. It's worth mentioning that privacy-improving methods can heighten anonymity while utilizing Bitcoin, yet absolute anonymity isn't an inherent aspect of the protocol.
I remembered the documentary regarding Jimmy Zhong with this one. He posted is address, and that's the main reason he got traced by the authorities thus, getting arrested.

Bitcoin doesn't really provide full anonymity at first already because you can still track the transactions thru blockchain. It isn't like those privacy coins out there that you can't really track the transaction that are being done. Your identity will not be known if you will not put your Bitcoin address online, or at least kept your personal info.

Bitcoin isn't intended to be anonymous, and it has never been, and I guess it will never be because it can be easily tracked thru the blockchain. On the other hand, if you didn't post your Bitcoin address online, then I guess you can keep yourself anonymous since nobody knows you.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking Coins With Annual Returns - Good Idea on: August 22, 2023, 03:56:03 AM
~
Do you think it's a good idea to stake coins?
Please explain your opinion.
22% APY? That alone is already a red flag for me.
I remember Terra Luna with this one where they're giving I think 20% APY for those who put their coins into their project. Ending? Many lost their money when the project fell down because of just a simple hack or bug whatever it is.

Staking in general is a good thing because you will have the opportunity to get more coins on a yearly basis because your coins are basically being used to earn more coins. On the other hand, let's think of the annual interest that they're giving if it's realistic or not. That 22% alone isn't realistic for me because who will give 22% to investors and take note that "it's free". Don't fall for this traps of these kind of projects.

I'm also staking some altcoins, so I'm not against staking, but let's be considerate at least, and think if the amount of annual interest that they're giving is realistic or not.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 22, 2023, 03:36:15 AM
Enough about James Harden. I think I've found an interesting topic to discuss.

Pelicans star Zion Williamson shows off new look in viral photos

Take a look at these viral pictures. What can you say about his appearance? He has been criticized for being overweight, with some suggesting that his weight is the reason he is prone to injuries. However, when you look at this 'scary man' now...

And yet, here we are again with those hyped photos, hyped videos of superstars.
The best example of this one is Ben Simmons who always have video of him shooting from threes months before the season starts, and when the season starts, we saw him can't even shoot even inside the paint. What an irony, and this is just one example of many who are hyping their fans for their comeback.

As for Zion, it's been year after year that he is either injured, or not fit to play. He can't even finish a whole season with the Pelicans. Yes he is a generational player who has a huge impact with the Pelicans, and we even saw them one time at first place in the West, and I also look at them as the dark sheep of the West last season, but when he got injured, the team is just like an average team who can't even win in the play-ins.

The Media has been known for hyping player like him, and other more. I just hope that the expectations of the Zion's fans will be met, and he lessens his injury. I still remember him being put into trade talks by the Pelicans just a few weeks ago, but now it seems like the team will give him another chance to redeem himself. I mean it's really hard to let go a player like him, who can just bully those people inside the paint, and very athletic.

Re: HOW DO WE TRANSFER BITCOIN WEALTH TO HEIRS AND THE NEXT GENERATION
TBH, I don't know how investors who doesn't have any people to trust their assets with when they die will give their Bitcoin, and other assets to their heirs. I guess I'm lucky that I know a person whom I can trust my assets with if the worst thing happens, and I die.

Having a person or people where you can trust with is the best solution for this. The problem is, there might be a chance that the one who you trust right now will be the ones that will backstab you, making them a traitor, and has a chance to steal your assets. The chances are low, but it isn't zero right. Cheesy Anyway, trusting a relative, or in this care an heir is very hard thing to do. Maybe just putting it in a hardware wallet, then teaching them how to access it is the best way. Of course you will only give them the wallet when you die, or at least you feel that you will be. In that way, it would be better than just forgetting those Bitcoins.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Monero so unpopular? on: August 21, 2023, 11:55:01 PM
Because it's a privacy coin? I mean all privacy coins right now aren't that popular, and hasn't been talked online by many media outlets.
On the other hand, we have these criminals who are using privacy coins, so the government can't trace their transactions whatsoever. We might not have any concrete evidence to this one, but I think many of us know already that criminals wanted to hide from the government thus, they are using privacy coins like Monero and others.

There was a time in the past where privacy coins are becoming popular, but that didn't last long. Though I've seen privacy coins in the past that became popular, that didn't last long as well, and the last coin that I know that added some privacy in their project was Litecoin's Mimblewimble. Overall, Monero has been at the top ever since, and there is still a community behind it that's why it remained at the top.
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN: Give people time! on: August 21, 2023, 11:29:58 PM
~
Although it's not the story that intrigue me to share this info  to the community but it's mainly the lessons I learnt from it that did, which I'll believe a lot of bitcoiners needs to know even as they talk to people about bitcoin. Which are:-

1. Give people time; they will show interest when the time is right for them. Their timing may not be same with yours, if you've done your own job of talking to them about it, then that's fine.

2. The amount of energy and time you expend preaching to someone about bitcoin is not a warranty that he will accept what you're offering. Maybe not immediately!

3. We should always tell people to go do their own research about bitcoin after giving them some preaching about it. Doing their own research from with what they  get online can strengthen their conviction about what they've have been told.

What do you think about this?
Sometimes, there are people who are insisting at first, but deep inside of them, they are very curious to know what a particular thing is, and in this case it's Bitcoin.

TBH, I didn't ever try to share many information about Bitcoin into my community although I know that there are some who really knows what Bitcoin is, or at least they've heard the term "Bitcoin". I just hope that there will be a time where all of us will gather in one spot, and just sharing anything about Bitcoin, and crypto in general so that we can share lots of information with each other. As for the OP's case, it's good that after months your uncle did invest into it. Your preaching might not have an immediate effect, but that helped him realize, did research, and learn what Bitcoin is.

Will I ever talk to some people with regards to Bitcoin? I might in the future, but as of now I don't want unless they're the ones who will approach me. After all, sharing lots of information about Bitcoin to other might not let them convince to invest into it at all. As for the 2nd one, your energy will be useless if the people who you introduced Bitcoin aren't really interested at all. As for the 3rd one, it's quite unfortunate that people aren't doing proper research before investing. They are relying on other people with regards to information - like spoon-feeding.

My question is that is it possible for everyone to have bitcoin with the number of limited supply of bitcoin ?

Technically speaking, yes everyone can have Bitcoin.
The only question is that, will everyone have the capabilities to buy Bitcoin. Will everyone have the gadgets needed to access Bitcoin. Will everyone be given an opportunity to buy Bitcoin. Will everyone be interested in Bitcoin.

Take note that our current fiat currency that the world has been using, and is widely accepted worldwide is not being used by some of the people. You said "everyone", so I inserted those people who are in extreme remote areas that they themselves don't have access to money. Just imagine how they can get an access to Bitcoin. I will also specify those poor people who don't even have an access to smartphones that is needed to use Bitcoin.

If you will think, every person in the world can have access to Bitcoin, but there are certain factors needed in order for them to have access to it, and that is the hindrance for them. It's good thing that 1 Bitcoin can be divided into 100 Million Satoshi so that it can be distributed even more.
