Some idiot is dumping at ridiculous prices. Those of you looking for opportunity, I'd say there it is... and if you know who's dumping, smack 'em upside the head with a cluebat, will ya?

There's definitely some manipulation going on to make the price drop.  There was steady buying, then someone put up a wall, dropped the wall and sold off.

Rinse and repeat a second time for today.

Biomech, poloniex actually isn't that bad.  You should see the Bittrex board.  Constant PnD.  I have basically stopped trading over there because of all the manipulation.

Anywho, it's crypto.  But once everything you guys have set in place comes to light, we'll be good.
Polo is a solid outfit. There is not stopping stupid. On the bright side, stupid people tend to die young. On the other hand, they also reproduce like rabbits.

And yes, these day to day swings are more an annoyance than anything else. Once we get our platforms built and on the market, that will drive the exchanges, rather than the other way 'round.

sorry for a little bit off topic question, but how a guest can write on this forum? the 1st post was posted by an anonymous poster that was guest am i getting something wrong?

He wasn't a guest, he was Atlas, a fairly infamous troll who got permanently banned.

Goodmorning , i see Bootstrap file download  (updated every 4 hrs)  on OP , but is 49 week old !! where can I download a more recent bootstrap?
That's odd... Should have sync up to the latest block. You may check out our IRC channel or join Forum for help.

It's actually about three weeks behind. The script kept crashing the server. I will update it today manually. I've no idea where this 49 weeks comes from.

bear in mind that a bootstrap does take a few hours to work. It's much faster than syncing from zero, but nowhere near instant.

I never really like to respond during arguments like this, but since my experience with the team is very positive,  I just want to share my opinion is a very positive one.   You guys took a coin that was struggling and gave it a new purpose.  It is still a long road ahead,  so I'm just going to be patient and enjoy the ride.

@spacedevil: sorry that you have a different experience,  so probably best to sell and invest in other coins.  Don't become a fudder out of spite, please.  ☺

Thanks, Jonesd.

I was a bit over the top there, but I have tried with this guy. Spacedevil, I don't retract anything I've said, but I do apologise for my tone.

...

Great!!!
I am impressed of the growth. I remember times, where GMC cost 1 or 2 Sat. And now this! Respect from my side.

AND.... you failed.... Sorry but i see no Message in that spot. It is a spot for the Game or the Coin?
And i can download it on your page? Oh i forgot, there are no downloads on your page.

So i have now, more question marks over my head as before.
Please guys... fix first the problems before you make more and more commercials.
I see no sense in that actions... nobody can grap that coin or game on your page... no outgoing links to that game, the coinwallet or a pool list...... thats frustrated

I'm rather tired of being nice. So...

If you cannot compile a wallet from source as a LINUX user, I suggest you return to Microsoft where you belong. Development workes in parallel, and some departments get ahead of others. Our site is being updated daily, sometimes hourly, and the wallet upgrades (yes UPGRADES!!! the current one works very well!!!) are a bit behind. We are not going to sit on our thumbs till a prettier version is ready, we're going to keep working until all the pieces come together, and then make more pieces. That is how it works. We're NOT Sony, we don't have thousands of people doing this stuff on a Rapid Deployment Schedule. They can hide their progress and mistakes, we cannot. Pointing out a mistake we've made (if it even is one) is one thing. Bringing FUD for the OBVIOUS purpose of being a jackass is another animal altogether. Get Thee Hence.

I don't know about you guys, but I've been riding the Tek rebound wave, getting regular 13% on my trades. Its sweet.  Grin

I cant keep mine out of my wallet long enough to trade. STAKE BABY!
LOL
I don't know another wallet that can stake half as well as this one. On time and multiple simultaneous stakes like a beast.

Did new guy just quote himself and then comment on his own laughter? ^^^

Anyway yeah...TeK is a steady stream of staking goodness. Grin
Sanity is optional.

I cry bullshit. Sanity is strictly forbidden in crypto! Cheesy

I dont understand you guys...
You make great page, i think you have a good designer or you found a good template, and you will push that coin, but why you make so many basic things wrong?? ....

when i go to your website.  http://gamecredits.net/ Oh great, many languages!

I see a great page... But HY, where the fuck i can download the wallet for mulitplattforms on that page?

I go to "Home" ... nope
I go to "Features" ... nope
I go to "Showcase" ... nope
I go to "Foundation" ... nope
I go to "Team" oh hy guys, but nope. (6 people)
I go to "Contact" and see a whole team.... with 12? ladies and Gents. But, nope... no wallet download.

Man... and dont come with, you can download it here... thats wrong... the download must place on your site!

12 peoples showing on that office.... But nobody have the idea for a downloadable wallet on your homepage? Facepalm??

Next thing is... when the people found your wallet on Git, BÄNG, thats not your "working wallet." Thats a "Dead Wallet".
Thats dont work.... the "DEV" Wallet is your working wallet.... whats happed?! 18 people... and you dont have a real developer in your team???

Ok guys... here my Tipps.... to make that coin running.

Step 1: DOWNLOAD on your Homepage
Step 2: Download for any platform, like, WIN, OSX, Linux, etc, etc. (Look at the Bitcoin or Litecoin Page, there make it right)
Step 3: Delete the "Dead Wallet" on Github and make your DEV to the working copy.
Step 4: Dont use fixed "dead" Nodes in your Wallet. Use irc or something for your wallet to found another nodes.

Several things. One, we cannot delete the original repo, as this coin was taken over just a short time ago. Either the noise23 repo or the gamecredits-project repo (currently identical) work. We can undo the things that were done, but we can't erase them. The current wallet needs addnodes, but aside from that works and compiles fine. I'm not sure why you're having trouble with it. I have literally compiled it dozens of times, without error.
Our homepage is a WIP, for sure. We are trying. There are six people on the core team and about another 8 that help us. We all have lives outside of the coin and are doing the best we can in our available time. We are working currently on an updated wallet that does not need addnodes, and that is the link that will be on the homepage. I actually disagree with this decision, but I was outvoted. There will be a great many changes, and yes, a downloadable Linux binary will be one of them. But we are small.

This coin has been through hell. First, it was essentially abandoned by it's original developers, leaving spaghetti code with more errors than government "logic" in it. Then, when it was in the process of being rebased, our main developer went AWOL, and we had to scramble to find people to help us. We still do not have a full time developer for the coin code. Noise23 assists as he can, and there are a couple others. We're seeking some additional people, but in the interim, we are doing as much as we can. Because we DO have some very dedicated people, we're getting it done. But not as fast as you would like. In that, we agree. All of us would like to see it happen faster.
Our game developer, who also maintains the website, is a freakin' genius, but he's not a crypto guy. He's gettin' there real quick, though, out of necessity.

Does anyone know where you can find the coin specifications, like Algo, BlockTime, Retarget etc?

It was supposed to be in the OP when we revamped it. Apparently got omitted, which I will see to it gets fixed. But in the meantime, I can answer those questions right now.

Algorithm: Scrypt
BlockTime: 90 seconds
Retarget: Every block.
Retarget Algorithm is takend from Earthcoin, as KGW (apparently) caused the chain to freeze prior to the current release.
Block Reward is 25 coins.

Anything else you can think of that we missed, let us know. It will be fixed ASAP. Thanks for pointing it out.

How many blocks do I need to have to get even close to those 9 days staking periods. ATM I have 6 blocks, each with 12k HYP and my staking time is over 30 days. What am I doing wrong?

8.8 days is the time at which your blocks become eligible to stake.
If you were the only one on the network (and difficulty had had time to adjust to this), you'd stake at 8.8 days. As it is, your blocks compete with every other block that's eligible, with chances according to each block's weight, so...
Still, 30 days for 12k seems a bit high. Maybe you don't leave your wallet open all the time ?
Though the general idea is that we now have a LOT of stakers, and so, since the number of blocks per day is targetted to a fixed number, there is a huge roadblock there.

I understand the diff issue but this is what my wallet shows, 34 days per block. I do not leave it open all the time, why would I when it says 20+ more days till the next stake.

Because your wallet is trying to stake every second, it's like bitcoin mining. If you are not leaving it open often enough, you can't stake at all.

Assuming you don't have your blocks distributed over a 30 day period, is there any reason to have the wallet open when no blocks are mature? I was under the impression that there was not, but I am not sure.

Maturity is 8.8 days. After 8.8 days you will want your wallet open as frequently as possible.

Woot! I got something right today Cheesy Mine is always open anyway, but for the watchers...

so there is no way to send many of the same transactions to one address quickly? Would it work if I repeated the same address over and over, or must they be different?

Vegas

Ok, generate the number of addresses you want, or use the same one over and over again. Not splitblock, and you don't need coincontrol.

sendmany address:amt, address:amt, etc...

EDIT: Almost all satoshi derived coins have this feature.

Hobonickels is a Script coin. Isn't that different from being satoshi derived?

I assume you meant scrypt, and no, it isn't. All are derived from bitcoin code, and share most if not all of the same RPC commands as bitcoin. The mining algorithm and proof of stake components are different, of course, but the base code is still bitcoin. NXT, for instance, is programmed from the ground up. While conceptually similar to bitcoin, it's code is completely original. (and a pain in the ass, in my arrogant opinion).

Hy,

i want to push that coin, but i dont can compile it on CentOS.

So can you upload a pre-complied version on your webpage?

Like the bitcoind for linux.

Give us a couple days. We're working on it, and hopefully will have better syncing routines ready at the same time. Just got a guy willing to teach me how to do this, and OSX wallets. For future releases, we shouldn't have to go outside the core group Cheesy
639  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America: Rest In Peace on: July 06, 2015, 04:57:14 PM
Thanks for sharing your true affiliation (Anarchist) and the quote, it's indeed important to remember that the greatest ideas of change are born out of something originally thought of as "radical".

I don't think Democracy is the worst thing, but Deomocracy is run by people and people are flawed. People are motivated by specific incentives and if those incentives aren't aligned with the best outcome for most people you'll see the people in control govern in a way that doesn't benefit most people.

Two things,

1) Current politics is structured to incentivize politicians to create legislation, which causes money, adds debt, and pushes government down the spiral.

2) The majority of eligible voters in the US is becoming more and more poor, so if those people decide to vote they will get the handouts they desire (at the destruction of the institution that is a financial sound government.)

What can we do?

1) Vote for and reward politicians to don't add to the costs but improve efficiencies or reduce costs (and not automatically at the reduction of services - that's the challenge the new politician must rise to)

2) Educate the people on the fact that handouts at a large scale kill governments, we need a generation of workers. People who are proud to pay taxes because they earned the right to contribute to a city, state, department, or country that they're proud of.

I unfortunately do not have the time this response deserves today. Really didn't expect me blowing off some steam to go anywhere Cheesy But I'll briefly address this and come back to it when I'm not up to my ass in alligators. It's a very complex subject, one I've dedicated years to studying, agitating, etc...

But frankly the main problem with the current system isn't that it doesn't work, it's that it works too well. It as you said incentivises corruption at nearly every level, and has made it very much a government of rulership, rather than stewardship as originally proposed. Voting, frankly, isn't something particularly worthwhile. By voting you lend your support to a system and agree to abide by it, regardless of the outcome. Whether or not that is your intent. In small groups, where you have the opportunity to take the third choice and leave, that's ok. But in a large system like this, it merely adds to the ability for the corrupt to manipulate the system for their own good.

Eventually such large amorphous constructs consume themselves. This, in itself, is not so egregious. But they take a lot of innocents with them. I think that digital currencies are a step in the right direction. I'll revisit in much more detail when I have time.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin Hi-PoS hybrid pos/pow no premine/ipo/ico on: July 06, 2015, 04:46:15 PM
My point is - our coin is NOT what it used to be for all its life.. as we had well known figures in the formula when we plan our budgets.
Amount of coins, intrest rate, age... before this days everyone had chance to stake at 40% rate (0.0000x diff)
Now for the first time it looks like we are going to have the coin that is different from what is described at the Official Page.. its not High POS any more and that can drive people away from the coin!
We have to think NOT only about market conditions, but also the coin must perform the same way all the time so you can count on it (easy rules i.e. 40% at 30+ days) Now we have unknown Super Low Stake rate Sad
If you want ~2% rate - go to hobonickles
If you want all your coin compressed to 100000hyp blocks to get 1000.. then go buy HYP
But this 40% is the main feature of the tekcoin and that what drives the demand... this mining is power efficient etc.
It is stupid to just cut the supply of the coin which main feature is something that can be promoted as the Virtual Mining contracts with constant outcome
peace

P|S why we must stay with something that novacoin has ? Perhaps// is this true that we have 95% diff rise because of ONE adress?
If this is the case, then it is bad for the coin? for all 95% of its users.. and we must take action if we see something wrong, so that we dont get into the same trabble in the future!

Really think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill here. The APY on TeK is STILL hovering right around 200%. My most recent HBN stakes have been right around 84% APY. This is happening while the price of these two excellent coins have been moving in opposite directions. To me that says leave TeK alone and buy HBN...it's undervalued, but that's just me.

There's nothing wrong with TeK, it's just evolving. It remains one of the highest yielding, oldest, well established hybrid coins out there. TeK is 87th in market cap, which is where free market forces have placed it. What would be served by overriding the inflation controls and tanking the value?

This! I'd like to see a bit of a facelift on the wallet from time to time, and that's really it. TEK works as it should, and almost always has. I think I may have been the last to understand NVCS, and I'm still not concerned Cheesy
