121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Government. on: November 06, 2017, 08:55:15 PM
All governments are afraid of losing control of their financial systems. They won't be able to print any additional money anymore. Also banks will be obsolete. Probably they will be used only for loans. That's one of the reasons why politics want to protect fiat money. I think that in 20 years most of the countries will switch to cryptocurrencies.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will become the first world currency for buy and sell ? on: November 06, 2017, 08:48:58 PM
I don't think that Bitcoin was designed to be world currency. It needs a lot of upgrades before we will be able to use it in our daily lives. Bitcoin indeed has a great potential and it is quite interesting. It's a matter of time before most countries will switch to cryptocurrencies as their national currencies. Sending transactions will be even easier than it is today!
123  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dark use of Bitcoin on: November 06, 2017, 08:15:33 PM
I haven't bought any illegal things with Bitcoin on the darkweb. Even if I did, I wouldn't admit doing it here. These days it's easy to buy something with Bitcoin. There are plenty of companies which offer bank transfers if you pay them in Bitcoin. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible due to its design unlike PayPal. It has some advantages and disadvantages.
124  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: November 06, 2017, 07:52:41 PM
We are about to reach $10.000 for 1 BTC and we are still far away from replacing fiat. Fiat won't become obsolete that fast. We still have to convince many people that cryptocurrencies are way better than conventional money. A lot of countries have already moved to cashless transactions so it will be easier for people who use only debit or credit cards.
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will down on: November 06, 2017, 06:23:58 PM
It is really hard to predict when we will have another correction. People might cash out few days after hard fork. I'm still not sure what I will do with my BTC which I will earn from trading SegWit2x coins to BTC. Investing in altcoins is also interesting idea but it's really hard to say if the price of Bitcoin will continue to grow and what will happen to altcoins.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying using BTC on: November 06, 2017, 06:21:32 PM
It's simple. Bitcoin is still not popular among youtube creators. I bet that if popular youtubers started asking Google for it, they would add Bitcoin payouts at least as a optional feature. I wouldn't be surprised if they bought some BTC some time ago. It would help them save a lot of money in the future due to increasing Bitcoin value.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: November 06, 2017, 06:19:37 PM
As you said, bank all over the world started to realise that Bitcoin and Blockchain can't be stopped. That's why they have started implementing Blockchain technology into their systems (I have no idea how they are going to mix fiat and blockchain). We are going to have very important hard fork in the next few days. Bitcoin will probably win over SegWit2x.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: November 06, 2017, 06:16:34 PM
It's highly possible that we are going to reach $10000 by the end of this year. 2017 was definitely one of the best years for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. People became aware of Bitcoin's existence. It will be interesting to see what will happen in the next year. We had so many hard forks this year and there are even more coming! For many people it's great news because they will earn a lot of "free money".
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who wants to be a Bitcoin Millionaire?! on: November 06, 2017, 06:13:19 PM
I guess that everyone here wants to become a Bitcoin millionaire. I think it is not too late to become millionaire if you buy a few BTC right. However, you can still make a living thanks to Bitcoin. There are probably many people who earn money only by trading or maintaining their mining farms. I'm one of those people. I don't have much to do beside participating in crypto events and reading Bitcointalk.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are you all holding your Bitcoin for the fork? on: November 06, 2017, 06:10:49 PM
I consider Bitcoin SegWit2x hard fork as a well prepared air drop of "free money". Some of the NYA participants have already started to withdraw from it. About 80% of hashpower is signaling support for SegWit2x but it doesn't mean that they are going to follow this hard fork. I wouldn't be surprised if SegWit2x were worth 50% of BTC price.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X Hard Fork Countdown... on: November 06, 2017, 06:08:21 PM
I'm against Bitcoin SegWit2x hard fork. In my opinion SegWit has already solved a problem of slow and expensive transactions. Of course we will have to introduce proper upgrade later but for now it is enough. Right now transactions are slow probably due to people moving their money to exchanges, people who cash out and there is a possibility of spam attack which aim is to convince people that Bitcoin is slow.
132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does Bitcoin work for online shopping? on: November 06, 2017, 06:03:21 PM
Bitcoin was designed to make transactions irreversible. It has many advantages but for some people it's the main reason why they don't want to switch to Bitcoin. There are few companies which accept Bitcoin from you and pay with fiat to merchant. So far, I have only used bitpay.com. It's quite convenient and works without any problem. However, I try not to spend my BTC.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price Worth $7500 on: November 06, 2017, 05:57:54 PM
We are not future tellers so it's difficult for us to tell if we will hit $10k by the end of the year. I would be certain but there is going to be SegWit2x hard fork. There will be fear definitely. Nobody is certain which chain will have the majority of hashrate. I will stay with "legacy" Bitcoin chain like many people here. It will be interesting to see what will happen to the price after the hard fork.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin online payments on: November 06, 2017, 05:00:02 PM
A lot of time will pass before Bitcoin will be used as a payments for services and work. Some big companies have already started accepting Bitcoin (for example Valve). I hope that Bitcoin will replace fiat money in the future. Using Bitcoin is easy and convenient, you only have to understand some basic stuff like how transactions and mining work.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good time to buy Bitcoin or I should wait to buy it after the fork? on: November 06, 2017, 04:48:20 PM
It's always good time to buy Bitcoin. In a few days we are going to have another hard fork called SegWit2x. For example if you have 1 BTC you will receive 1 Bitcoin SegWit2x coin. It might be hard for you to understand what exactly is SegWit2x hard fork and why some people want it. I will stay with "legacy" Bitcoin chain.
136  Economy / Economics / Re: Is time too late on: November 05, 2017, 08:43:21 PM
Of course it is never too late to buy Bitcoin. Cryptocurrencies are becoming more and more popular. People who invested in Bitcoin at the beginning of this year have already earned a lot. That's why I'm not surprised why many people are still coming here. They are all after money. It will definitely help with making Bitcoin widely used. Maybe it will be able to replace fiat money?
137  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: November 05, 2017, 08:41:27 PM
Less than $1 is definitely not enough and people would quickly lose interest. I would say that $10000 would be the best option. Bitcoin is probably popular right now because people think that they will be able to make a fortune thanks to it. It's still possible but it requires a lot of effort and trading if you don't invest a lot. Bitcoin value won't be stable for a long time.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not.. on: November 05, 2017, 08:37:26 PM
There are still many people who don't know anything about Bitcoin. Most of the people heard about it once in the news. Nobody is familiar with concept of Bitcoin. If only Bitcoin was more popular, it would be a serious threat to current financial system. I won't be surprised if cryptocurrencies replace fiat money in the next 20 years. Cryptocurrencies are way easier to use and safer.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN SERVER IS TURNED OFF on: November 05, 2017, 08:32:45 PM
It is not possible to turn Bitcoin. It's similar to the Internet. There are many independent servers which are all over the world so even if single country decided to cut off Bitcoin traffic, which is not possible, it wouldn't stop Bitcoin. Bitcoin is decentralised and that's the biggest advantage of it. Nobody can stop Bitcoin from growing. Try to read more about it.
140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet should starters use? on: November 05, 2017, 08:30:50 PM
If you are going to invest a lot of money in cryptocurrencies then you should consider buying a hardware wallet. For a good start I would recommend you Electrum. It is easy to use and allows you to manage your private keys which are necessary to prove that you are the owner of certain Bitcoin address. It doesn't require any knowledge, there are some tutorial how to use it though.
