As you said 2 factor authentication doesn't protect at all. It only helps when someone guesses or steals your password using a keylogger. That's why I use online wallets only when I'm going to a shop which accepts Bitcoin as a payment (there aren't any in my area). The same thing is with Google Auth. There's no way to perform MIM attack but the exchange or online wallet provider can still be hacked.

Crime is everywhere and we can't ban it. If we even tried, how would you do it? Goverments are trying to get rid of paper money and switch to online banking because they could control everything easier. No more tax evading, buying illegal things etc. If something like this happened, I think they would use gold or silver for transactions.

Of course they are rules here. Bitcointalk is a huge community which is hard to control. In my opinion we don't have enough moderators. Also, not everyone uses "Report to moderator" fuction, it's really helpful for forum's staff. I don't understand people who can't post in a proper section, what's hard to do it right?

That's the main point of cryptocurrencies. Transactions are irreversible. It has some disadvantages, you won't be able to get your money back after someone scams you but it's your fault then. Maybe more people are going to use common sense. Bitcoin will be regulated in the future and probably as long as you know the identity of scammer, the law will help you.

Yes, they can and it will probably happen in the future. Bitcoin is the next generation of money. We are going to be our own banks. Maybe there will be some institutions that are going to give loans but I think they won't be used for long term storage like these days. A lot of people will lose their jobs but we can't stop the revolution which may come in the next 30 years.

Fiat payment would be faster and more reliable. How is the taxi driver supposed to know that we have paid? Most of taxi drivers are not into technology. Some of them are against Uber because it's something new and innovative. It would overhaul the way how they are getting along with their customers.

10 000 BTC for a pizza? This guy must have felt content when he paid for it with BTC which he has mined. He wasn't able to predict Bitcoin's future price. Early spenders probably blame themselves but for us it was very important. Maybe they encouraged other people to buy BTC from them?

Ethereum is a great project with huge potential but its purpose is different than Bitcoin's. Ethereum is great for ICOs and starting projects. What a shame it isn't worth much more. It went down about 40% not so long time ago, didn't it?

Offline wallets are the best ones. However they are expensive (if we are talking about hardware wallets) and are less convenient. Keeping your Bitcoin in many different places is a really good idea in case something bad happens.

Hello.
Did anyone here managed to make any hardware wallet work with Electrum on the newest Tails? I have already tried Ledger and no luck. Do I have to configurate it somehow?

I don't think so. China investors have huge amounts of money but I'm quite sure Bitcoin is going to recover pretty fast. How many times we were on the edge? Our community survived every time.

It's so funny when people write that Bitcoin is going to die. I think it's simply FUD. How much time do they need to realise that Bitcoin is immortal?

I am pretty sure we are going to reach $5000 by the end of the year. The price could have fallen more but it haven't!

Is there any iOS app? I'm not even asking for Windows Phone one, because this system is dead. Reading forum on a small screen in a browser is pain. What do you think of rising funds to pay someone to develop app for us?
|
|
|
But let's think for a moment. Will it get more expensive because of bitcoin price or because of higher demand on Ethereum? Of course I hope both will happen. I will hold my Ethereum for a bit longer.
