Do you see waves hitting 100 dollars or more?

3682  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 21, 2017, 06:21:54 AM
And how would one even go upon changing their receiving address on the receive tab?  Or you cannot do this?

I assume u cant delete the default receiving address on the receive tab?

So im confused what is that address and how they did choose it on the receive tab.  And if you didn't do much transactions on it, then its not your btc address?

The thing is when ppl say use a btc address only once.  Then if someone receives weekly or monthly payments etc, then do they give a different btc address everytime?  For example people would post their btc address on their profile.  So wouldn't that mean that address is used many times instead of just once?

Because the thing is how could you remain private if you post your btc address or give that address to different people who would send you payment?

But main question is how they did they choose the btc address on the receive tab.  Is it because its the first one showing on the Receiving/Used thing?
3683  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 21, 2017, 06:03:27 AM
Got another question.

When i click on Receive tab, it shows a receiving address.  However, is that the address most of you guys use to send/receive btc?  Because this address i believe i used but not many times etc.  However most people here don't use an address more than once right?

For example if someone ask you what is your receiving address, i assume most don't give that as their address on the receiving address on electrum?  Also is there a way to change that Receiving address on the Receive tab?
When i click on it, you cannot seem to change it whether clicking or delete it and add a new one?  How does electrum show pick an address as the receiving address when there are so many addresses on your wallet.

Because if people only use an address just once and then use another address, then does that receiving address on the receive tab in their electrum wallet stay the same?  The thing is when i click on it, you cannot change the receiving address on the receive tab.  So does that mean that receiving address is the address associated with your electrum or something?

Thanks all.

3684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins to Trade Vs To Hold? on: September 19, 2017, 08:48:29 PM
Hi there.  Well my question is to trade or vs hold.  However the big difference is i think the main coins like BTC, ETH are better to hold.  But those altcoins are best to trade.  Thoughts on that?  For example look at lisk.  If you don't think this coin can ever hit say 25 dollars for example and it would always go between 2 and 10 dollars.. wouldn't it make sense to just buy it when it dips really low... then sell it once it gets very high?  But most importantly if these coins you don't see it ever going to like ETH prices?

However altcoins that you think could possibly be like ETH probably should be bought and hold instead?  Thus certain coins are better to hold?  Whereas certain coins are better to trade?

My thinking is BTC and ETH are definitely coins to hold.  But altcoins are great to trade if they keep dropping to 2 dollars then going back up to say 7 dollars and stay around that range.  Thoughts on that?
3685  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 19, 2017, 05:53:45 PM
So what is my best option now if i want to send/receive btc anonymously if i have my btc in electrum now?  I cannot get a trezor now at the moment.

However if i send my btc from my electrum to another electrum wallet, wouldn't that still not work?  And if i send my btc from one address in electrum to another one in my electrum, wouldn't that be the same issue?  The thing is i used an address much more than once etc.

So if i send btc from an address in my electrum that has btc to one that has zero transactions, wouldn't it still show the btc transactions from back then as a trail though?
3686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coins to Trade Vs To Hold? on: September 19, 2017, 07:29:38 AM
So many people mention that holding coins is more profitable than trading.  If you trade, then its possible for you to make consistent income if you buy it low and sell at high.  But if you hold, then you don't make any money until you sell which could be a very long time.

The thing is aren't there coins that are more profitable to trade than hold and vice versa?  For example, i believe bitcoin is a coin to hold and not trade.  Because in the long run, if it keeps going up, you will profit.  If you keep buying when it dips then sell when it goes up, you make money but it seems a bit more work than holding it.  Do people agree or disagree?  The thing is people predict it will only go up.  So if it only go up, wouldn't that mean holding makes the most sense?  Now let say you buy it at a dip and then sell it when it goes back to the price after the dip.  Yes you make money but probably not that much because you need a lot of money to trade bitcoin if you want to make decent money.

But with altcoins... isn't buying it at dips and selling when it goes back probably a very good idea?  For example let say there is a coin that is 5 dollars or so.  You dont see this coin going up high in the future where it could go up like BTC or ETH.  You think the coin will stay around this price but maybe go max 15 dollars and just doesn't see it going 50 or more etc.  If thats the case, wouldn't these type of coins be the perfect coins to trade assuming these coin prices keep going between say 3 dollars and 12 dollars?  Because many times you notice many altcoins would go to 3 dollars then go back up to 6 dollars.  If you keep repeating it, wouldn't that be profitable as long as you don't sell for a loss?  The thing is what about altcoins that you think in the future could go up like ETH prices.  If thats the case, wouldn't those coins be great coins to hold?  Now if you buy these coins at dips and then sell them when it goes back up, yes you make money.  However imagine you bought 1000 coins of a coin at 3 dollars when it dip.  Then it goes back to 5.50.  Then you make a 2500 dollars or so etc.  Now let say it dips and goes back up many times and every time you do this you make 2k or so.  Thats great right?  However my thinking is if you think this coin could go up to 50 or 100 dollars, wouldn't trading it be bad idea because you could have bought 1000 shares and sold it many times where if you kept all those shares you make more money and less work etc?

However i feel like trading could make you consistent money.  Holding... you dont make money until you sell for a profit.  Do people agree/disagree with this?  I believe the coins that you should hold for profit would be BTC and maybe ETH.  However, wouldn't majority of altcoins probably be best for trading if u dont see that coin ever hitting that high of a price.  Like the coin would hit max 10 dollars.  But most of the time be between 2-7 dollars etc?  Thus buy these coins when there is a huge dip...... then hold until it goes back up to possibly close to double the price or even 50 percent of the price and then sell for profit?  Because if u dont sell when price falls after you buy, you dont lose money.

However to those people that trade altcoins especially when buying it in dips, how long typically do you hold these coins to before selling it and locking in a profit?  Like if a coin drops from 3 dollars to 2 dollars in a huge dip.  If you buy it at 2 dollars, if it goes to 2.50 in a few days, do you just sell it?  Do you just sell it if it goes to 2.50 in the same day and cash in the profit?  Im curious how many trades a trade does a month on average to make any decent money.  If i had to take a guess, someone probably would need to buy at least 2-3 altcoins and buy a lot of shares like 1000+ minimum each time to lock in a profit when it price goes up right?  Of course you could buy a coin and it drops down and it takes weeks or even longer to go back up.  So how long do you traders hold before you sell it since you are daytrading?

It seems simple to buy coins at huge dips and then sell them when prices go back.  So wouldn't it make sense certain coins are great for trading.  But certain coins are horrible for trading?  I don't really think there are many great coins to hold besides btc and ETH etc.  Does anyone here agree/disagree with this?  It seems like those altcoins that cost 25 dollars and less seem to be great options to buy during huge dips... then sell it once prices go back up but issue is you dont know how long it would take.  However, when was the last time a top 50 coin fell all the way down to almost nothing.  Does anyone know?  It seems like any coin in the top 25 that isn't btc or eth would be great to buy during dips right?  And it seems like during dips, doesn't it seem you could buy any altcoin in the top 25 since when btc goes up, all other altcoins seem to follow?  And when btc goes down, all altcoins seem to follow?  My thinking is during dips, it doesn't seem to really matter that much which altcoin you buy because when btc goes up, almost every altcoin does the same etc.

Does anyone here say certain coins are great to daytrade since they keep going from one price range to another price range but never gets higher than that?  Like if a coin drops to 2 dollars, then it almost always seem to go back to 3 dollars.  Thoughts on this?
3687  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do you use Tor? on: September 19, 2017, 07:04:53 AM
Is this possible if u done a lot of transactions with one address in your electrum wallet and then want your future transactions to be anonymous?

3688  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 19, 2017, 06:35:19 AM
Hi there.  So from now on, is there a way for me to use bitcoin on electrum where i cannot get tracked?  Or i would have to create a completely new bitcoin wallet in electrum.

But how would i get the bitcoin from my electrum to my new wallet which i prefer is electrum?

Also want to ask another thing.  But if i get trezor, would that mean electrum is not needed?
3689  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 19, 2017, 05:26:39 AM
Okay thanks for the response.  So just to make sure again

If the btc address i used has that many transactions, then one person could view the entire history right?

So is there a way where i could get my btc somewhere... where i have my btc in a wallet but then there is no history of any of my previous transactions?

So i could create a new wallet on electrum... send the btc from my electrum to the new one.  But even if i do so, it will show the btc history of the addresses that i used a lot?

So does that mean using a mixer now is useless if i want the btc address where i did lot of transactions to be anonymous?
3690  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 18, 2017, 11:56:03 PM
Okay in the first example.  If there were 25 transactions on that first bitcoin address.  You could see every single bitcoin transaction ever made on that address?  Could you also see the dates of it or not?  Or it just list all the transactions?

When you say use inputs from multiple address in a single transaction, can you explain what you mean by this?  So if my other bitcoin addresses has bitcoin in it but i never used those addresses to send or receive btc, are you telling me if i list that btc address, anyone could link it to every other bitcoin address i have in my electrum or not?

The other thing is say you only want to use a btc 1 or 2 times only.  How do you do this where people cannot see your btc history?  For example if you have 0.25 btc in an address that you might never have used but it just shows there.  When you send 0.1 btc, you would right click it and click send from this address?  And if thats the case, what happens if you want to send 0.35btc for example?  Would i have to first transfer btc from one of my addresses to the one that has 0.25btc to send all from that one?

I ask this because people always mentioned you should not reuse an address once.

So if thats the case, how do i send btc and receive btc where there is no history trail?  Like a btc address might have 1 transaction for 0.25btc.  Then when i receive or send to another btc address, i want to send/receive in another one.  That way i have no tracking where someone could see my whole history with just the address.

Say from now on, i want to send btc from an address that has no history.  So the receive wont know my transaction history and how much btc i have.

And i want to receive btc to an address that has no history.  I assume most ppl do this as oppose to using a few btc addresses?  So that way whether to send or receive btc to someone else, there is no way the other user could know how much btc they have?  Can someone tell how i can do this on electrum when sending and receiving btc?  I have btc in a few addresses in electrum.

3691  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 18, 2017, 11:16:13 PM
I have a lot of bitcoin addresses on my electrum wallet.  A few i used many transactions.  And a few others i either use 1 or 2 times or none.

If i mention what my btc address is, could you take a look at the entire history of this btc address?  Like every single deposit/withdraw into this btc address?

For example say btc address is

1.  adfsjkadfksaldfsafkad;lsfjdks

And say it has 25 transactions.  Could you look at every single transaction i have done on this address?  Could you also see what is the btc balance throughout the entire time i used this address?  I believe you could see what the current balance of btc is in this address right?

2.  Say this is btc address on your wallet and you only have say 3 transactions on it

jlkfadsjfkladjsfkjlasdjklfadjsjkl

If you look at this address, could you see all the transactions on this wallet?  Does it mean you cannot see what transactions take place on another bitcoin address in electrum whether it has 25 transactions or 2 transactions?

3692  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked - No Response From Moderators on: September 18, 2017, 08:49:10 PM
I already private messaged the other user who is a legendary account holder on this issue.  He told me most likely the mods wont reply back but said if i could get the mod to private message him for validation, then he would do it.  Of course the issue is the mods i read take a very long time to reply back to anyone who has their account hacked.  I mean theres posters here who sent private messages a long time ago and still havent heard back and they even have the signature i believe.

Here is another thing.  Could't the mods just take a look at the IP address of the hacker vs mine?  They would clearly see the ip addresses are different?  And that my viking02 account IP address and the one i created just now is the same whereas the hacker using my viking02 account is using an ip address that is not close to mine etc?  Wouldnt that pretty much ring alarm bells to the mods?

What is DT members?   Yes i want my hacked account to have negative feedback if i cannot get my account back

3693  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked - No Response From Moderators on: September 18, 2017, 05:33:36 PM
You will need to sign a message from an address known to yours (an address you've used quite a while ago).
Without that you little to zero chance of a moderator getting you your account back.

You need to be able to prove it is yours. I do know that the mods can take quite a long time to respond to PM's any way.

Well wouldn't i need to have typed that bitcoin address on a post a while back then?

The thing is i never posted my btc address anywhere in posts or on my profile page.  However i have sent my btc address to another user as he paid me a very tiny amount of btc a while back.  So if that user who is a legendary user on this forum still has those private messages, would that work or not?

The other thing is could someone here tell me when this user changed my password and email address?  This has to be around a week or so as that was when i could not log into my account.

The thing is if i could not get my account back, can't the mods freeze or ban my viking02 account then?  I would like my account back but if i cannot, i want that account banned.

Also i read lot of threads about posters getting their accounts hacked recently.  So i would like to know how was this even done.
3694  Other / Meta / Account Hacked - No Response From Moderators on: September 18, 2017, 04:56:53 PM
Hi all.  My bitcointalk account viking02 got hacked about a week ago.  I noticed i could not log into my account and it said wrong password but i didn't think much about it.  Then when i clicked on restore password to my email address connected to my bitcointalk account, i noticed i did not get any email on this.  Not only this, i noticed i got a lot of email recently from ICOs like buy this ico etc.

My viking02 profile

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=354663

I then clicked on my viking02 profile and then i noticed they have a picture/text of COMSA ICO.  Not only that, it even has a signature with COMSA at the bottom.  And it has even has a bitcoin address.  I did not ever put anything on my profile address ever.  I check the posts and this user has been making many posts and even in one post, he POSTED on a thread called stake your bitcoin address.  I took a look at that thread and its for posters to post their bitcoin address in case they ever get hacked etc.  So either this hacker or person who bought a hacked account did this so he would have proof of ownership of my account.

The thing is i never posted my bitcoin address anywhere in a post.  However, i did give my bitcoin address to another user when they paid me a very tiny amount of btc.  Would that work to restore my bitcointalk account back?  I would message that user who i remember his username here if he still has my old private messages?  The thing is that guy is a legendary poster on this forum.

So right now, what can i do on this issue?  Can someone tell me when was the last time my account viking02 got the account password and email changed?  When i looked through the threads here, someone mentioned they got their account hacked and someone else checked and said your details got changed on so and so etc.  Can someone tell me when my information was changed around?

My account is from a few years back and is a hero account.  I read that they hack these accounts to make money from promoting icos and that must be true since this poster has a COMSA ICO up.  The thing is im not sure exactly how i got hacked.  I did change my password a while back as well.

I have emailed not only the mods but a few other members here who post on this forum for their advice.  So far i only got one bitcointalk member who messaged me back and told me to email the 2 mods theymos and cyrus but havent gotten any reply back.

If i cannot get my account back, can the mods freeze/ban the viking02 account then?

And can someone tell me if they could get their account back if they were in same situation as me?  I read you can get it back with a signature but i did send my btc address to someone via PM.  If that other user has that private message still, couldn't that still work?  Thanks.
