361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having bitcoin gives confidence on: April 26, 2023, 07:40:44 AM
Generally speaking, when someone mentions crypto, what comes to people's mind first is bitcoin not altcoin. Bitcoin is the king of all crypto and it is through her that altcoins were made.
Relating to this and I even thought that cryptocurrency was like currency used by criminals around the internet and that's why I never attempted to touch Bitcoin ever back in the days. I thought that the only cryptocurrency we got was only Bitcoin so that's that.
I can't say that having Bitcoin gives assurance, but hey for the last decade of it continuing to exist, I would use it as much as I want.

Indeed, Bitcoin can give assurance to long-time investors. It's been 6 years for me since first time I know about Bitcoin, and I never have a doubt about its supremacy. None of this altcoin could beat Bitcoin until now. Many projects up and down, and only Bitcoin that's standing still until now. Although there are times for correction, but Bitcoin will rise again, and I'm expecting for the next bull run happen in 2024/2025. It's like 4th July for crypto community and I can't wait to experience it again.
I feel really old knowing that I am almost going 6 years as well in holding Bitcoin, lol. Not that I was really having an assurance from it, but rather that I was just trying to test the waters if it is really a good investment..aaaand I would say yes to that.
362  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any point to start trading with 20$? on: April 26, 2023, 05:46:09 AM
if you have no trading skills it will be a waste of your time and money. there is nothing wrong if you want to earn money from trading, but you have to start by learning some techniques and also how to choose trading assets. if not your small capital will just disappear without you feeling any advantage.
maybe if you are interested in investing, you can buy Bitcoins consistently with your $ 20 in a certain time interval. so you can have quite a lot of Bitcoin when you are strong enough to hold the asset.
Uh no? I have like the similar starting money like the OP's but I still learned a skill back when I day traded. Just by learning by theory and reading around the resources in the internet would not lead you so far in your learning experience, you would still need to apply those skills into practice. Let's say I watched Youtube videos from CryptoJack back in the days and I followed the trading tools used like RSI and Bollinger Band. I invested like $20 to those just like the OP to learn.

The bottomline is that it is perfectly fine to start with $20 to learn trading and it ain't no wasting time unless you really just go straight up. I would do it over just virtual trading where I would not feel any shit if I encountered losses to that.

It is wasting time and your health, life happiness too.

With only $20, you will lose a lot in trading fee (if the exchange you use for trading does not give user 0% trading fee). Trading is stressful and if you are newbie, you will spend lot of time to watch the computer screen, chart and it costs your time. Spending too much time on your chair, with your computer will make you more sedentary which is bad for your health.

With $20, let's buy a coin and hold it till it becomes bigger. In addition, you can use your salary and saving (part of it) to accumulate more bitcoins.
You got a point, but if it is for learning trading, it is not. If I have not tried day trading before, I might be curious for the rest of my life on how does it feel to watch my computer screen for almost 8 hours continuously while trying to earn.
I did stop trading since it is not for me and for my work habits. Trading is still stressful even for experienced and veterans considering the market is volatile.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe I should wait before owning my bitcoin on: April 26, 2023, 03:35:05 AM
I agree with Zaguru12 and many others about the DCA as a reasonable option for investments. It's easy to do, a popular strategy, and you sort of win some and lose some because sometimes you invest at a good time and sometimes at a not-that-good time, but it's alright in the end. Of course, everyone should do what feels right to them, and it's totally reasonable to just watch the market for some time and then decide when to invest, how much to invest and which strategy to use (if any).
Let alone any articles out there. I usually just use articles like Forbes or Yahoo Finance as a guide or at least just an idea through data provided whether I would just sell or buy. There's likely a possibility that some even articles sites are paid to drive the decisions of the public, don't you think?
And yeah, DCA would kinda save you from the possible headaches when you do the opposite and impulsive buying.

You need a real person to talk toface to face and not so machine telling you when to buy or not based on people's vote. A reason for this is that you have an investment plan crafted for you .

Hey, take your time researching on Bitcoin. There are many ways to invest whether when the price is up or down. Read it up. Ask questions and make your decision on which to follow. If you ask me everyday is a good day to buy some. Bitcoins, it depends on who you ask.

Most of the time, you don't need to. Mentorship is a plus, but sometimes getting a network to teach you is a pain in the ass. If you can handle the research all by yourself since the resources are free anyway in the internet, do it most of the time.

364  Economy / Economics / Re: Bans on crypto now looks like a joke on: April 25, 2023, 03:03:51 PM
There we are again with the banning of Bitcoin, then eventually it will be withdrawn. Since then, several countries have banned Bitcoin and later lifted the ban.

Then here we are again now, China I believe that they also have cryptos or bitcoins The same goes for the U.S. That's why they are doing everything they can to control cryptocurrency or bitcoin but they still fail, Now the country China themselves know the potential that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency actually has.
Correct me if I am wrong I would be glad to be corrected but I can recall back in the days when countries like India proposed a law to ban Bitcoin and any forms of cryptocurrency. I read only that it never went through and it was just a "draft".

By just banning Bitcoin, it won't stop people on finding ways to be able to still use it. VPN exists for a reason for cases that their ISPs decided to ban crypto sites. *Insert VPN ad here like what you always hear from any paid Youtubers, lmao*.

It's kind of funny to me when I hear about countries banning bitcoin, those countries are just disturbing themselves, because am sure their citizens will keep on using bitcoin either legal or illegal way, since they believe what they are doing is not bad, government is just fighting for their own selfish interest.

Their was a time the central bank of my country was banning accounts linked to crypto transactions, they wasted their time and later free everyone, now they don't really care anymore. I was suprised that bitcoin got more awareness in my country during that period of time, everyone wanted to know what bitcoin was all about and why banks where blocking their customers accounts.
Aside from what I mentioned before, surely people would still be able to do P2P trading like those usual bank transfers that can be done either direct DMs to people. Government would go so far into putting people behind the bars just to fully stop them from using any forms of crypto at all.

What country are you from by the way? I am quite familiar with the old news of a certain country having their banks ban crypto-related transactions. Was it really that bad of an effect to your country? Banks here in my country (Unionbank to be particular) even launched crypto trading into their app.

I suppose that # means $? To answer your question about the first paragraph, nobody knows since you're just saying that you will give me $5000 on Monday, but that is not enough for me to fully trust what you just said.

In gambling, you know there are no promises. People use "belief" these days just to cope that something that is not possible would be possible. The same goes for your "Uncle" story. Nobody knows if he's serious about adding $200k in your business.

The same goes to every single loan businesses out there. Promising future income is not going to cut it. I believe that in Lending section there's even that guideline, lol. Cheesy

~
There's technical difference, but both are really not that reliable. You could be laid off from your job anytime, although there are notices sometimes. In gambling, you could just predict.
Considering the layoffs from tech companies lately, you could somehow see the similarities in terms of unreliability between the two, don't you think?
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bear Market on: April 24, 2023, 01:44:55 PM
All you need to know about a bull market is that this is the best time to buy bitcoin, and the problems that a bitcoin entrepreneur has to face are not something to worry about. Everyone knows about the volatility of bitcoin and its cyclicality (well, at least many), so this should be taken into account, so this does not become some kind of problem in the future.

In my first bear market, I didn’t do anything, I didn’t sell anything, I didn’t buy anything, I just watched and thought - this is the end, so I missed every possible opportunity that existed in the cryptocurrency market. Now I understand the cyclicality of the market and I intend to take advantage of it, buy in a bear market and you will be fine.
Do you mean "bear market" is the best time to buy Bitcoin? There's volatility but there should always be that point where you would be able to buy. It still has its own pattern, just randomized overall. Remember when people where eyeing for bull run during May 2020 when Bitcoin Halving was drawing near? Yeah that one is a pattern that people could somehow take advantage.

As long as the one you bought is not really something you would be worry about losing, there's nothing to worry about.

Luckly is almost over, soon we are going to see huge pumps
Fingers crossed, arent't we? Cheesy
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you want bitcoin to stay? on: April 24, 2023, 01:40:37 PM
There is no assurance that Bitcoin will stay in the next 100 years.  We never know what will happen in the future.  There is a possibility that government will have a all through out battle against Bitcoin and ban it everywhere, or accept it as mode of payment or legal tender.  We really never know what will happen in the future so whatever benefits we have today with Bitcoin, lets just enjoy it and hope it will last.
Good thing is no authority would be able to just seize Bitcoin itself since it is decentralized. The only worse possible thing that could potentially happen is get everyone behind the bars when others found out that they're holding Bitcoin or any forms of cryptocurrency.

Government alone would not be able to "Thanos Snap" Bitcoin. There would still be people out there that would be using VPN behind the scenes and also be able to trade locally. It's just not possible to clear out the swamp if it is everywhere anyway.

~
This is true. I don't get it why people are so into legalizing stuff while knowing that regulation would come around after that legalization. I mean it's a double-edged sword, don't you think?
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is important? Knowledge or Experience? Or both in Bitcoin Learning! on: April 23, 2023, 02:52:35 PM
~
Knowledge would give you experience  then experience would give you more knowledge. It's like a two-way flow. You learn Bitcoin then you apply that knowledge depending on what you pursued. Learned trading? Go and trade in whatever exchange you prefer. Learned technical stuffs? Go build a crypto related web app or build your own crypto coin.

Just imagine being a carpenter. You know how each tools work, but how would you build a house if you only knew what each tools are used for.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will never own a whole Bitcoin and that's okay on: April 23, 2023, 02:46:18 PM

I just don't get it sometimes on why there are other people obligating others to get a whole Bitcoin just to call themselves an investor to Bitcoin.
"uR nOt a BiTcoiNer if u dOn'T hold 1 BiTcoin"

Back then, I always thought that Bitcoin was not like an investment but more of like an currency used by criminals especially in the deep web. While part of those are true, I just found out in the early 2017 that I was wrong about thinking it as just a illegal currency then I just decided that day to why not find a site to discuss Bitcoin then I found this forum. We all do have our learnings and now that I am holding less than a whole Bitcoin (but quite near the whole) make me think that I had been into this so far.
370  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 22, 2023, 07:23:26 PM
~
Actually it is easy as long as the money you had invested are just the one that you can afford to lose. I can still recall though my experience before where I kept on refreshing the browser for the price of Bitcoin in the span of  5 minutes. It kinda gave me the bad habit of looking into the price endlessly, but then I overcame that bad habit though.

I never had the fear of holding now these days. It's like I even forgot that I even bought Bitcoin then only to found out that one day my investment just went kaboom! No profits within a year? Meh, it's fine. Hundreds of profits next year? Holy crap, I did not see that coming.
371  Economy / Economics / Re: SPENDING MORE THAN YOU EARN on: April 22, 2023, 07:20:10 PM
~
Number 2 sometimes depends on where you reside. There would be people that would tell ya that you should consider taking a credit card although it is quite risky to have one and get rid of the bad spending habits especially if you really have many wants.

Along with "shopping with a list", also make sure you already had eaten whatever meal of the day you're supposed to eat as it get rids of that unnecessary spending to foods that could have been way cheaper when you already had taken your lunch.
372  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 21, 2023, 07:28:31 PM

During my young age, I took a student loan from my school when I was still a high school and they all turned out to be a pain in the ass in the end when I thought that it will all be over after I graduated. As long as you don't screw up your grades in school, you'll definitely be fine but they are still a pain in the ass now that education is a basic need and you almost have no control in deciding whether you should afford a loan or not. I still did not have any source of income that time as I was still dependent on my parents though.
373  Economy / Economics / Re: Look for what to invest, not what to eat on: April 21, 2023, 07:23:22 PM
What do you think.
I mean those people who sell their accounts are really just desperate to either earn money or to scam people around the forum. About investing in projects, you can't really blame the reasoning of the many that they just don't want to invest in the potential projects. We've been from ICOs, IEOs, STOs then NFTs and people were still falling from either shit projects that aren't worth even $1 or just purely scam projects that wouldn't give you a single penny at all.

People investing in BTC today most likely already had something to eat since their money that were put into investment usually already are the money that are worth losing and they wouldn't starve if their investment didn't yield them any profits.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does It takes time for market to be bull on: April 21, 2023, 02:10:05 PM
~
Maybe because you're expecting the bull run to happen. Yeah it really drops drastically within few hours as it is volatile in price and I believe you already knew that when you were already investing into Bitcoin. When we're talking about bull run, we're talking about long-term changes and not just within few hours, weeks or even that "7 months".

I wouldn't worry too much in the price for now if you're waiting for the bull run.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I still believe I am on the right path on: April 21, 2023, 02:00:37 PM

You made me remember that even old software to these days are still pretty much being used by the corporation to these days. Imagine if corps had adopted Bitcoin before right when it was still like at its lowest in USD price per coin. I can imagine that the adoption would still remain the same regardless of the age of BTC.

Maybe he just mean that Bitcoin is somehow old to its age, considering that software gets replaced if not migrated to another language or  at least maintained.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are Meme Coins? on: April 20, 2023, 06:03:05 PM
~
LMAO HAHAHA. True it becomes annoying as fuck.
There were breeds, just like the OP listed, of meme coins in the market and I am quite annoyed that these coins still exists to this day, but I guess there are just some investors that are really into memes. I just recall a meme like PEPE that also had a coin and I believe that's like just a Twitch chat thing and just really an old meme also. Knowing that it has its own crypto coin just makes me wonder on why do these coins continue to exist. Cheesy
377  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose out of greed. on: April 20, 2023, 05:56:56 PM

PEPE? I thought that only like a Twitch-related stuff and I did not really expect any meme coins coming from it, but I guess...well it is a meme coin. Cheesy

What can I say? I guess people were more like into hypes rather than utility of coins anyway. I wouldn't risk myself though. It is not just worth my mental health and my money to invest to any internet culture that should just stay as an internet culture.
378  Economy / Economics / Re: Automating your savings will help you save more on: April 20, 2023, 04:04:57 PM
~
I think OP is pointing out automation as being a habit of people to keep saving even if they don't have anything to buy anyway. There would times of unexpected where money would be the one that can help you. Save those little quarters that you ccan pick up around the streets.
You never know how much luck those coins bring as well. Wink
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the altcoin holders hang on until the bull run comes ? on: April 19, 2023, 02:33:15 PM
~
In the short-term, it might not be that bad since you're actively watching on your investment anyway and you might consider selling it any day due to the hypes. There are number of people, if not many, that are investing in the long-term and the hypes might not prove an advantage for them. I understand that people still remember how Musk like manipulated the market back then and Bitcoin even went past its supposed to be ATH back in 2017, but I would definitely rely on hype. There are tons of what-ifs for me if I invested due to hypes. This is the reason I tend to avoid meme coins.

Well before it is like just a FAQ that looked like a bot. Those are just easily done  since it it just set of Q and A and you don't really get any sort of interactivity like you're talking to someone or something. The answers were all just laid out there.

It's even concerning that Deep Fake are kinda getting really subtle to the point that you may not know if the video is fake or legitimate.  This is why I am skeptical with most of the videos I usually watch in the internet.
