For lyra2rev2, what's the best software miner out there for the 1080ti?  I've been playing around with Alexminer, NemosMiner, and now I'm trying to see some other ones.. haven't quite gotten set up yet for lyra2 though, working on.

excavator

This is actually the best:  https://github.com/Nanashi-Meiyo-Meijin/ccminer/releases

I forgot it, that's right

Not OP, but in my opinion, the best x17 coin right now is Shield, not Verge. Shield is at 27 cents and Verge is at 18.  Not to mention Verge has about 30x the circulating supply.

is there any pool for that?. I like the chart.

]

after 70C you get a significant lifespan drop , even mining softwares change the color from green to yellow as soon as a card reach 70C

but that's cap temperature, it's not the  GPU or VRAM temperature reported by the drivers.  In thermal maps the GPU is the hottest region of the card, and caps are surely several degrees cooler.

I ordered today, 50btc worth of stuff. Well see how it goes.

2012 I know.... but holy ...!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 05, 2018, 05:10:43 PM

you forget other parts on the card that cant handle these temp for a long time without being affect. The cards are built to run @70C, its a fact. Now if you want to go ahead and run them @85C its your business.

Where this 'fact' comes from?. Even working temperature of CPU depend on each generation. No air-cooled 1080ti will run @70 C in any demanding game. You can argue that's only for short sessions, but the world is full of crazy gamers miners.  Many of them run in SLI, where the card on the top will reach  85C easily.

I think the lifetime  depends on the card quality. I  put my money in a hight quality board, like these of FTW3/Srix/Lighting/etc,  running at 75C 24/365 instead of a cheap card running at 65C  24/365.

All this discussion is a bit silly.  As long as  the card is under warranty it's a manufacturer's problem, not our business,  to make sure  that the card is not fried under extreme conditions while the warranty is active.

Whats everyone favorite 1080 ti to get?

From my experience :  FTW3 hybrid >  Asus Strix OC>  MSI Trio > Aorus Extreme Edition  Waterforce.

The FTW3 hybrid has the crappiest fan I've ever found in a high end card,  but it's sooo good, so well done. For a small fee the warranty is extended to 5 years.  I'm in love with it.

The Aorus Extreme Edition  Waterforce has been a complete disappointment. It's about 5% slower than the air cooled Asus Strix OC.

Apologies in advance since I imagine this has been covered before.  Basic simple question.

What temp range is safe to run the 1080ti at long term without seriously degrading the longevity of the GPU?

Got my e-bill today and it wasn't as bad as expected.  So am going to push TDP up and get more hash - while also getting more heat.
It's a difficult question to answer. I suggest you watch Gamers Nexus latest Q&A video on youtube, he addresses this point specifically. The general understanding is, as long as your card is not temp throttling, you should be fine. What's most likely to pop are capacitors. They are rated between 5000 and 10000 hours usually.
[/b]

It can not be true. Otherwise most of us will get new 1080ti cards in one or two years before the warranty expires.

Maybe when Volta arrives BTC is worth 0.001$.?. At current ROI waiting for Volta  is a joke. Our real concerns must be that bitcoin does not crashes before reaching ROI and that is converted to fiat, and that the top list at coinmarket does not get filled by non-mineable coins.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 30, 2017, 07:51:44 PM

so what i can i mine with my 12x 1080 ti ?

Grin Grin either '12' or 'what i can mine' does not fit in the same statement.

A general comment. There is no need to ask every minute here, or run any calculator, to know the hottest coin of last second/minute/day, just go to a pool and look at the algo with more miners, there  is the best paying algo/coin. To know the best coin of the past is extremely easy.

Do you mine the shitcoins in autoexchange pools to BTC, or mine to wallets in shit-exchanges  and  convert later them?. Obviously, the second method well done  has much more  potential, but looks painful.

Hey ppl,

What do you mine right now? nist5, blake2s, something else?

play games!

Can anyone show me the setting msi for Zcoin of 1080ti ? I had msi armor

I use 80 power, 90 core and 300 memory, is that ok?
no, because zcoin is not the most profitable coin to mine now

well, as a general comment,  I'd say  that's only true for auto-exchange.

Power is irrelevant, leave it to default. Use the maxium  Core and Memory that supports your card stable.

I don't know whether mining zcoin anyore, I got  my coins when almost nobody was using 1080ti for that and now the difficulty has jumped too much.

Ugh sorry to hear your fan came damaged.  :/

TBH I didn't think the evga fan that comes with the SC2 is as bad as people say.  I could barely hear it.

I replaced it anyway with a corsair ML120.  Pretty happy with this setup.  Both my aorus and the sc2 sit at temps in the mid 50s while mining.  I haven't tried any games yet.  I suspect the sc2 will run warmer in-game vs. mining.  Looking forward to doing a little testing.

As for static pressure, the ML120 is much better than the stock fan. Stock fan is a 5$ fan, ML120 is a 20$ fan. A have two ML120 and one feels the air beeing pushed, but I don't want them near me since they are very noisy at high rpm.  However, I don't think the ML120 needs very high rpm to cool the radiator. Probably the ML120, or some Noctuas,  is one the best solutions.

However, I must say that this fan issue is damaging in a stupid way to EVGA. The FTW3 is really a fantastic piece of engineering. I own  as well a Waterforce, Strix OC, MSI Trio, all of them very good serving different functions, and I've been impressed with  the ftw3.  You can exchange the radiator fan easily, not like other water cooled cards, where you don't have an option to do it directly.  For a small amount the warranty is extended to 5 years. A very good product spoiled by a bad parternship with a fan maker.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 23, 2017, 08:41:11 PM
I see everyone hates the included radiator fan on the sc2 hybrid cards.  I don't understand why companies package garbage fans with 800$ video cards. Wtf

even worse. I received yesterday a FTW3 hybrid. Guess what?. The radiator fan is broken!. Brand new, and radiator fan is not working!. I  phoned them I they will send me a new fan.  I did my calculations, and was most profitable to purchase a Noctua 120mm urgently in amazon, that waiting for the replacement. So, now is working with the new fan in a temporal configuration.

According to their Facebook Live stream yesterday somehow a computer on their network was compromised and somebody signed in with one of their developer's credentials.  The video can be watched here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/NiceHash/videos/?ref=page_internal

It is questionable whether it is really caused by security breach.
I think that someone on the NiceHash team stole.

What is most interesting is where the coin is, how will the stolen person make it Fiat currency?

I think that's not easy at all, even near impossible, for normal people. However, with these millions it's obvious the thief will receive all kind of sophisticated help to make than happen with no legal risk.

VIRUS?. Just compiled the sources in linux, and I have the program running. I hope it's not true...
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 06, 2017, 12:59:04 PM
Alexis (compiled with cuda9) hashes are not recognized by mph. I get per Alexis's about 69, but mph only reports about 40.

Anyone with this issue?.

The best miner I've found for lyra2v2 is  excavator, but only works for nicehash. When I point it to mph it happens the same as with Alexis, not recognizing all the hashes the pool.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: November 30, 2017, 07:17:00 PM
I just bought a MSI gaming TRIO.  The reason is  that I really wanted something quiet. I have it temporally in a board with a Strix OC, the poor strix (but powerful, since it hashes > 800sols/s) looks a minion compared to it.  At default settings hashes about 3% less than the Strix in lyra2z.
