hey,
i am running a masternode and i got the following expression in the debug.log
MasternodePOS::mnse - MasternodeB ranking is too low
any idea what this is ?
P2P port 11994 is open
regards pazor
Nothing to worry about - you'll see plenty of messages like that in the log. You may even get the occasional MasternodeA ranking is too high message also. That ~50% ROI is just bullshit - does anyone get at least close to that number? With 50%ROI you should get around 45 coins each month. My MN has been active the whole October and I received just something around 12 coins. September was not different.
These are my October payments:
- Thu, 19 Oct 2017 (2.80) - Sun, 15 Oct 2017 (2.80) - Sun, 08 Oct 2017 (2.80) - Tue, 03 Oct 2017 (2.80) - Sun, 01 Oct 2017 (2.80)
I'm not sure where those numbers come from but everyone seems to have a different ROI calculation. Unfortunately all numbers are going to be a bit off since our rewards just recently were increased. I'll repost my earlier findings regarding our masternode payments here: Here is the message I put up in the slack a while back: Master Node Average Monthly Rewards I have been quite fortunate to have two (2) master nodes running for the entire month of August. One of the nodes earned 14CHC and the other one earned 20CHC so my monthly average CHC/node is 17 and my daily average CHC/node is 0.54838710.
I have also been able to track another users’ nodes over the past 19 days and his results are slightly different to mine. Out of his 3 nodes, the first one received 10CHC, the second one received 22CHC, and the third one received only 4, making his daily average CHC/node 0.48387097.
I think it’s important for those of you who are concerned with the cost of running a master node (i.e. paying for a VPS) that you take these averages in to consideration when deciding whether or not to run a master node. It's almost the end of the month, once we're in October I will report back on my September earnings. As promised, here are the earnings of my five (5) masternodes which I was fortunate enough to have running for the entire month of September. Node 1: 29.200025 CHC earned Node 2: 32.00011 CHC earned Node 3: 18.4003 CHC earned Node 4: 16.40014 CHC earned Node 5: 29.20016 CHC earned Monthly Average CHC/node: 25.040147 CHC Daily Average CHC/node: 0.83467157 Since we just had our first block reward increase this month, the numbers don't really tell the full story yet. Once the next block reward increase has occurred then I should be able to compare the payouts month to month until the block reward halving (when we will have to do a new set of calculations). Hope it helps! ...
OK I checked that page, but I have to admit I don't understand the problem. My port is definitely open (using 11994). It has to be, since I receive a reward from time to time (though not very often).
What does it mean that "node has to be up to date?" and "POS score should be zero"?
I am sorry if these are dumb questions.
"node has to be up to date?"Check that when you run chaincoin-cli getinfo you get "version" : 90302 (that is the latest). "POS score should be zero"Check that when you run chaincoin-cli masternodelist pose IPADDRESS (where IPADDRESS is the ip address of your masternode) you get a result of 0.

Neither. Each proposal pays out to the wallet address embedded within that proposal.
This is excellent. Indeed. So does this coin work like DASH? What is the codebase of this coin and who is able to vote? Everybody or do you have to have a certain number of coins? The initial governance implementation will be exactly like DASH and it will evolve from there. Only the masternode operators will initially have the right to vote, and I do not expect this to change (however it is always possible that the community chooses otherwise).
Unfortunately our slack inviter is still not back online so if you're still waiting for an invite I apologize but there is nothing we can do for now! We will let everyone know once we have a backup plan in place.

Hi Mark - just wondering how things have been going? How is progress on the testing going? Any new code to push to github?

Just bumped into this coin. I think interesting with potential in theory. But it seems not much active development going on. Any insights what's up with this project?
Currently there is a vote in progress about implementin Dev funding, 45%-45%-10% split of blockreward (like Dash) has. The voting lasts till 4.th of November. If the voting goes through, as it currently seems it will, 42.42% have voted YES on the dev funding. Then chaincoin will have the proper tools to bring in paid devs. (currently only community work is being done in chc). Will the development fund then properly controlled by a multi signature wallet or all by one person? Neither. Each proposal pays out to the wallet address embedded within that proposal.
Please note that our slack inviter is temporarily down due to an invasion of the spam aliens. We are currently doing our best to fight them off and will let everyone know when it is back online.

this coin is a great example for textbooks. A great display of pump and dumps Yaeh so was DASH Yeah but their chart looks a lot better than ours does. We still have a lot of work to do before we begin to rise again!
ChainCoin Governance Protocol - Community Vote In the first 24 hours we have a 26% majority vote already! We are so proud of our community for their continued support, strength and all of the constructive feedback that has been pouring in. Way to go ChainCoin Nation!!! In case you missed the previous announcements, the vote began on October 14 and will continue until November 4. The rules, instructions, and proposal link are all on our website at https://www.chaincoin.org/voting/The ChainCoin Governance Protocol (CGP) consists of many core changes that will be implemented into the ChainCoin client with the goal of: - allowing a portion of the block reward to be dedicated to the development of ChainCoin;
- allowing community members to submit development proposals that will be funded by the above portion of the block reward;
- allowing masternode holders the ability to approve the above development proposals by a majority vote.
These core changes are a necessary step in order to provide a sustainable future for ChainCoin and the members of the ChainCoin Community. Furthermore, these changes must be made as soon as possible in order to provide the funding necessary for further development of ChainCoin, since at the moment all development is done solely by the unpaid members of the open-source community.

Hi, i don't no why but my masternode will not start, but the port is open? Check your NAT and port forwarding - you may also have to add the lines externalip=11.22.111.22 and bind=11.22.111.22 to your chaincoin.conf

The richlist seems to be non-functional for vivo and das... the other two would not even load for me.

It seems to me that finally CHC price has stabilized. It could be much higher IMHO, but anyway even such price is much better than continuously dropping.
But you also have to consider the volume and the buy support. If there is less volume, then that is not a good indicator for price stability. It would be better to have massive volume and see the price stabilize. yeah, you are right. I hope CHC will be listed at more exchangers to attract attention of bigger quantity of investors. I hope so too but until we increase our daily trading volume we will not get on any more exchanges. Right now we are on two exchanges (Cryptopia and NovaExchange) and most of our volume is on Cryptopia - there is barely any activity at all on Nova.

Everyone should upgrade to new version v0.9.3.2. Old versions will be cut off from the network. Update process is the same as last time when we updated from v0.9.2.x. Chao has made an automated script https://github.com/chaoabunga/mnscripts#for-updatechaincoin-only that makes this one click operation. And remember to always make backup before doing anything. How much time we have to upgrade? You should update your node as soon as possible. Sometimes when start MN we are receiving "masternode started remotely" and sometimes "masternode started successfully". What does it depend?
It makes no difference as long as the node starts correctly. Check that your configuration options are in chaincoin.conf and not in the masternode.conf file. My node is running and shows up on https://masternodes.pro/stats/chc but when looking at the masternodes list in a local wallet I do not see it. Will it not show up until my first payment or how can I confirm that the node is up and running as it should be? It takes a little while for your node to update both on the masternodes.pro site as well as the local wallet. It's usually best to wait for an hour or so to check if everything is in sync. To confirm your node is on the network, run the following command from the debug console of your desktop wallet: masternode list activeseconds IPADDRESS and replace IPADDRESS with the ip (11.22.111.222) of your masternode. If you see a number greater than 0 then your node is online and working. And by the way, the slack invitor also doesn't work. I get a "Failed!Token revoked" error after submitting my email.
This was fixed. Try again. If you get the same message then send me a private message with your username and email in it and I will look in to it. { "MYIPADDRESS" : "ENABLED" }
so im good right?
See just above in this same post, use the activeseconds to confirm that your masternode has been online and seen by the network. As mentioned earlier, you may have to wait an hour or so before you can check this with your local wallet since it takes a little time to sync with the network.

Why does the developer not communicate on the forum? This is very bad. This repels potential investors. One message a day solves many problems Too many fudders on the forum. Many coin developers stop using the forums to communicate as the project moves forward because of the uncontrollable fud. I don't blame them. Get on the slack channel. Sure but the developer doesn't really communicate in the slack channel either. He was there for a bit at the beginning of the project but only shows up now to share update urls.

Simple guide how to run 2 Chaincoin masternodes in Windows. Same PC, I already use it.
1. Setup 1st masternode. 2. Copy %appdata%\Chaincoin folder to %appdata%\Chaincoin2. Delete wallet.dat from Chaincoin2 folder. NOT FROM source Chaincoin folder!!! 3. Make rule on router - forward port 11996 to the same PC. 4. Start wallet with parameters: chaincoin-qt.exe -port=11996 -datadir=%appdata%\Chaincoin2.
You can use any other port instead of 11996. With -datadir wallet will use you copied directory. After start it will make new wallet.dat in Chaincoin working directory.
5. Take new address to receive CHC. 6, Generate new MN key by typing "masternode genkey" in console. Close wallet. 7. Open chaincoin.conf in notepad. Paste new key after masternodeprivkey=, replace you previous key. 8. Add new line to chaincoin.conf: port=11996.
9. Send exactly 1000 CHC to you 2nd masternode address from step 5. 10. Start chaincoin-qt.exe -port=11996 -datadir=%appdata%\Chaincoin2 11. Wait for 15 confirmations, then type in console of 2nd wallet: "masternode start". 12. Make double profit, make more masternodes. Decrease earnings of all masternodes =).
You can start 1st and 2nd masternodes separately or together - now you have 2 different installations. Maybe you don't need -port=11996 in command line if you have it in conf. Or maybe you don't need it in conf =). You will have 2 Chaincoin working directories with block files, size will grow 2 times faster. Maybe there is a way to have just 1 set of blockchain files using hardlinks, I didn't try.
13. Make more masternodes, buy more CHC for it, make the price up, increase stability of network.
DO NOT follow this guide since Chaincoin WILL NOT run on any port that is not 11994.

I've read the white paper. The bi-monthly rebalancing and core mechanics seem really promising. Then I got to the atom bomb that says Im not allowed because I'm in the U.S.
Heartbreaking.
I almost want to back the ICO anyway, but it would really hurt to lose 2k like that when I was properly warned ahead of time.
Would you mind sharing a copy of that white paper with the rest of us? Just check his posts, he put this in the wrong thread. I don't see another from him in this thread. Did I miss it? No, he posted the exact same thing in two other threads, no idea if it was relevant to those threads or not, but it's certainly not relevant here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2116296.msg22406589#msg22406589https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2078433.msg22443009#msg22443009Thanks for taking the time to link that, I appreciate it. Probably just shitposting to boost his activity. I'm guilty of the same... but at least I post something relevant or truthful.
