I'm liberal on many things except for the 2nd amendment and a handful of issues. I'm very pro 2nd amendment, with that being said, we need to at least shore up some loopholes that currently exist, especially for people that have been diagnosed with mental illnesses, these people should not have access to a weapon. I believe there are laws already in place to address this, but the authorities at the Federal and at many State levels are just incompetent or do not enforce the current laws.
Boggles my mind that many on the left want to ban certain weapons like the Armalite AR-15, its a semi-auto rifle, which means there is no selective fire, thus it's not an "assault weapon". I have an AR-15 that fires the 5.56 and 223 calibers and an AR-10 that fires the 308 and also the 7.62×51 NATO, (the 7.62x51 can chamber into a 308 rifle, but technically they're slightly different and I'm not gonna go into the details here).
I also conceal carry where I can, but lawfully and I never intend on breaking any laws such as conceal carrying on a university campus (state law) or at a post office (federal law). When going to the post office, I always park across the street and never on postal property and leave my weapon in my car and then go mail my boxes or whatever. My guns are always locked away in safes and ammo in gun cabinets. These are in two separate rooms, and the only guns that are chambered are the ones in my bedroom safe.
Freedom shouldn't be subverted because the collective says so! No sir, freedom is born out of free will, and free will is the greatest gift our creator endowed us with. It's how we use our free will that will determine our destiny and future. At present, we should continue to have guns to defend ourselves and our families until the time where human consciousness rises to the next level.

I'm a former Democrat, but unless they nominate someone like Jim Webb, you can forget people like me (classical liberals) ever coming back. The Democrats and Republicans are now the party of Open borders, large government spending including huge deficits, corporate welfare and the list goes on but you get my drift.

Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you believe God exists?

I'm a Scientist, have been for most of my life. I have NEVER believed in a supreme being, despite going to Catholic schools my entire life.
I'd like to know.... What is it that compels you to believe in God? How can you argue for his existence? Please bare the following in mind when you answer;
1. There are literally thousands of religions, each of which has members that believe just as firmly as you do, they say they feel a personal connection with God, they have their own religious books and doctrines etc, if you were born in Saudi Arabia, you would be a muslim, in Ireland you would be a protestant, seems like the place you are born denotes your religion, rather than divine intervention. Obviously you can't all be right, so how do you know YOU are.
2. Most religions state that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, all-present and eternal. If this is the case, why are people punished for sins by an all loving God, who predestined them to commit their sins by knowing the future? Why is there bone cancer in Children, and insects that burrow into the eyes of infants making them blind, could an all loving God not have imagined a reality without this? And why is there such overwhelming evidence AGAINST the existence of a creator?
3. Since the scientific era God has slowly receded into the shadows, God used to be held responsible for most things, e.g. people offered sacrifices for good health, prayed for rain, thought that God pulled the sun across the sky, created plagues etc. Now we know he does none of these, and God has been reduced to a "God of the gaps" whereby he is still attributed to things we cannot yet explain with science, doesn't seem very powerful anymore.
I'll try to respond to the major points in this thread attempting to dismantle them.
I never used to believe there was a God, during my second year of pre-med I got to a very low point in my life where I was drinking so much, had so many relationships that didn't last a couple of days, I was so depressed and ending it sounded like the only logical thing to do. Yet, in this the most dire moment of my life my whole body started to feel enveloped by unfathomable love, unadulterated love beyond anything I can explain. I was wrapped up in it and I had an otter body experience where I heard a voice tell me that I'm loved more than anything in the world. God knows all, even down to the tiniest particle and all is God. I felt no judgement or condemnation for my actions, this feeling covered or enveloped me till I was so happy that I couldn't speak and tears ran down my eyes. Next thing I knew the sun started to rise and it was morning. That day I went home and sank to my knees praying for help. The next several months wasn't easy, but I cleaned up, took a year off school and just wanted to help people. I cannot explain what happened to me, it was surreal, I was beyond words. I was an Atheist and now I'm a believer, not of any religious thought or doctrine but of Love. I learned that God is love and that's it.

So you are raising money via exchange? Why? Regarding the team listed on your website. It's quite questionable. The CEO Marco Ahmadi has no proven track record at all. From website: "Marco previously worked corporate in C++ and backend web dev positions from 2005. With a primary focus on C++, JS and distributed systems management." Today you can't find developer without LInkedIN profile, yet Marco has new created profile with only few connections. Since 2005? Very interesting. William G Jackson Blockchain Healthcare and Government Advisor - Can't find this man anywhere on the web. Questionable? Absolutely! You can't find any blockchain evangelist or Doctors without LinkedIN profiles nowadays. Whitepaper with 13 pages of nice "infographics" without any technical details which can be shortened in 2 pages of text. Perhaps we need @ICOEthics to take a look at this.

Especially when we take into consideration that this happens together with 20% price drop across the hall crypto market. Bitcoin drop from 6500 to 5500 and I think will stop at 5000$. So glad I didn't sell and stuck with them through everything. Great job Pyrex team

Just merited this coin, hopefully that helps.
What does it means? you mean the first post? Well, the coin is dead since many months and sadly a merit point doesn't help the project. Ultima actually has no team, no exchanger ( because CB has stopped deposit and withdrawal ultil the team will appear again), and no blocks, because the wallet does not even sync... It looked like a promising project, which is why there needs to be more than just two or three devs. There needs to be a team of them. Same experience with Kona Coin, freaking awesome and promising project and now its dead. They were supposed to start on blockchain and then transition to tangled with only 1 million Kona Coins in total supply. I was looking forward to a huge payout in a couple of years since I had over 2000 Kona Coins and now it's just dead. Oh well what can you say, it's the nature of Cryptos
