101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saved my year on: January 04, 2018, 01:41:54 PM
well, this year i was able to buy a new car (not a ferrari though) but i paid half of the price with BTC and i'm quite happy about that, let's see what can i achieve this year! Smiley
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be a programmer or gain bitcoin? on: January 04, 2018, 12:49:44 PM
both, like for us grumpy old men with a stable job/income, nothing is blocking us to work and invest/buy/trade into crypto and i'm fairly sure, unless you hold tons of coins, none want to leave a stable income to jump into crypto both feets.
It's essential to have money to live and if you are asking yourself what to do, you definitely need to work to get money so my advice as old men is to do both.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the “new world currency” Peter Thiel wanted PayPal to be on: January 04, 2018, 12:39:42 PM
this is what i'm saying for months, BTC can become the new form of payment like Paypal, this is the best thing it can happen for the crypto world.
Nothing can overtake banks and money but can grow and become another form of payment (simplified or not).
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is ripple going to overtake bitcoin ? on: January 04, 2018, 12:12:37 PM
as soon as people see some alt coin getting pumped they're ready to scream "to the moon! BTC is dead! long live to xxx coin".
Yes, now ripple are doing very good with 32% increase within 24 hours, this is a nice wave to ride but saying it will overtake BTC it's funny; be practical, ride the wave while it last but i wont invest huge amount of money (as usual, this is just my humble opinion).
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin worth it or not? on: January 04, 2018, 11:12:52 AM
BTC are now ment to be a very long investment, while couple of altcoins are blooming nowadays.
Look at the ripple price, skyrocketed in the last couple of days, i would invest on it because it has a very good potential to bloom even more.
BTC are always worth if you consider them as it should be, long term, otherwise i would differenciate on alts.

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ripple on: January 02, 2018, 02:41:44 PM
no need to transfer/confert everything into a single coin (btc or anything else), if you have the finance to invest just diversify on different stuffs so you have more chances to gain profit and a safety net just in case.
109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Rise again in January? on: January 02, 2018, 01:53:03 PM
well we all hope the price will rise again but at the moment seems kinda stable around 12/13k, January has always been a slow month for BTC, i'm at the window waiting to see what will happen in 2018 Smiley
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get a crash course in the basics of cryptocurrency for $20 on: December 29, 2017, 02:02:52 PM
there are loads of information around, even reading this forum can give you an huge insight of the crypto world, paying for that you can find online with a simple google research it's a bit too much for me.
Beginners guide to mining too... naa, i wouldn't buy it honestly.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money have you cashed out from bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 04:21:02 PM
i cashed out only 50$ just for the sake of it (one or two years ago), just to test if the exchanger was reliable or not but for now, i have no intention to cash out more, waiting at the window to see how it goes, at the same time trying to gather some more btc dust by selling my services, used real life stuff and so on.
At some point, if in dire need of money i will for sure sell because family and friends come before anything else Smiley
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to move my BTC wiith this fork happening on: December 28, 2017, 11:22:18 AM
you should be fine, do not move anything to any exchanger if you are not sure they will support it; it happened with last fork where some exchanger didn't want to support the new coin and people who deposited were screwed.
If you have it in a ledger you are good to go, no need to do anything as now.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the future of BTC when fees increase? on: December 28, 2017, 09:54:30 AM
BTC fees are impacting the small investors (like me), if you have a small amount of dust it's kinda stupid to move it somewhere without paying lot of money.
For example i have a secondary wallet with 0.01btc dust in it and guess what? when i try to move to another one it says not enough funds.. which it suck balls at the moment.
Not like i'm in need to move anything but well.. this suck on many levels.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin tomorrow 28th? :rocket: on: December 27, 2017, 04:09:17 PM
meh, i see a lot of discussion about the 28th hard fork but if it will be like the last 2 or 3 nothing will change, community doesn't really like all of these forks and none is supporting the new coin.
We will see what happen in the next 2 days or so, but in my opinion we might see some BTC price increasement but not related to the new coin.
115  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What interest you best when choosing an exchange? on: December 27, 2017, 03:49:39 PM
well, the volume of transaction first, withdrawal fees, the interface (not clunky and easy to understand what's going on in the market).
Then i would check how long the exchanger is running, their reputation, reading reviews around is always good, there are many things to check before deciding which one you should use.
116  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another dip before new year? on: December 27, 2017, 03:46:04 PM
i still see the price fluctuating a lot nowadays and i guess there will be another dip before new year.
Christmas vacation were always like this for BTC, price dropped and then recovered in a month, consider it a black friday and if you can, invest while the price is low.
I don't think we will see some more dpis during 2018 1Q.
117  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is like heroin on: December 27, 2017, 03:44:16 PM
was missing topics like this from the OP, a well known fud spammer.
You canbecome addicted to basically anything in your life, i don't see your point, i mean, this can be a valid point but it can be applied to everything: tobacco, alchool video poker which are way more dangerous to use (and not talking about drugs).
This make no sense at all, nor it's an eye opener topic, just another useless topic by freight joe.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to sell? on: December 26, 2017, 02:29:30 PM
this question is even worse than "is it the right time to buy?"
it's up to you when it's time to sell, set yourself a goal like: 5%/10/100% of my investment and follow it, for sure, at the moment might be the best moment to sell if you bought at, for example, 2k$, that's a big gain compared to your investment.
None can answer you properly, decide by yourself, i would just want to advice you: if you sell everything now, are you able to jump on btc train again in the next future or you just want to sell and forget about crypto?
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x Dec 28th on: December 26, 2017, 02:23:49 PM
due to xmas holidays i'm not following much the news about this new-amazing-yet-another-hard-fork but it is just another fork aimed to get free coins for devs without any major improvement?
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will the 28th Hard Fork affect the price of BTC & Altcoins on: December 24, 2017, 05:31:17 PM
well, first forks were impacting very much the price of BTC (people wanted to buy more in order to have as much as possible new shiny coins), but now is becoming a joke, what should we do now? Why not another hard fork? Great idea! How should we call the new coin?
For me, it's another useless fork instead trying to solve the issues we are having now, another fork, nothing new to see..
