Hi, cannot understand how do you suggest to normalie CNY and USD? what conversion rate do you use for comparison?

I would guess .16 dollar = 1 yuan.  Either way its still a pain in the ass to exploit the arbitrage.
482  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Did HashFast delivered any BabyJet yet ? on: November 12, 2013, 08:32:45 PM
Big hashrate jump in the last couple of days.  Is HashFast testing stealing customer profits prior to shipping?

I actually haven't seen a hash rate jump as much as I've seen good luck.  It's mostly good luck and minor hashing additions check the hash rates of top 5 pools.
483  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Graphs - Difficulty and Price: 2013 on: November 12, 2013, 06:52:38 PM
Thinking about it further, it'd be really interesting to incorporate $/GH Delivered, especially if depreciation could come into play (as a Bitfury depreciates WAY faster than a good GPU).. Sadly I'm not that motivated :p

Yeah most likely the most important variable to look at.  Currently, black arrow is offering $1.49/GHs but only for delivery in February.  Just seems like mining is a suckers game right now.

I'm not actually sure where you're going with this graph....

487  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUY!!!! on: November 12, 2013, 05:41:19 AM
This week is going to get a little hectic.  Manic Monday started us off strong with a $40 rise, I can only imagine what will happen tomorrow.  By next week $500-600 easy...
488  Economy / Economics / Re: Billionaires are dumping Banking Stocks…. on: November 12, 2013, 05:33:45 AM
We don't want or need billionaires to invest in bitcoin.  We want it to be an accepted used currency around the world.  To accomplish this we need a large population using bitcoins. If one billionaire buys up a bunch of bitcoins it does nothing for bitcoin.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I invest in the dollar? on: November 12, 2013, 05:29:39 AM
So I've been hearing a lot lately about a currency called the "US Dollar" but I'm really hesitant to invest in it at the moment.  For those of you that don't know, "dollars" are pieces of paper are printed by a centralized authority called the "Fed", which distributes these "dollars" by purchasing Government bonds that keep the government and its people permanently indebted to the Fed.  Also, dollars used to be backed by gold, but now nothing really backs them except tradition as far as I understand.

Economically speaking, the dollar started the year at 1/15BTC, which was pretty good at the time, but it then hit an all time low of 1/395BTC on Mt. Gox last Friday.  I was thinking that maybe it could be a low and a great time to get in, but I find it a bit scary.  Especially when considering that the dollar has lost over 96% of its value over the past year, and the government associated with it is arguably the most fiscally irresponsible organization in the history of the world.

However, it did great at the end of last April and part of this last weekend.  Oh, and it was kinda decent in June too.  I just don't know...

Whatever shall I do?

Buy low, sell high.  Works wonders lol.
490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin today is like what FB was in 2006 on: November 12, 2013, 05:28:48 AM
I see BTC having (at a minimum) a similar value potential to previous paradigm shifts:

- FB social
- GOOG search
- MSFT, AAPL hardware

Or Banking:
- BAC
- CITI
etc

All these companies start at around $150B in valuation.

Bitcoin has a 99% MONOPOLY in crypto currencies.

There's a good chance for BTC to enter the 150B league in 4-7 years which would result in a Btc/Usd of around $10,000.

Good analogy, however the time frame will probably be shorter.  Bitcoin has been growing at a rate of 10x per year, and while this will in all likelihood slow down, even 4-5x per year will put us at 10k in 2-3 years.

Have you gotten a urine culture?  And what was the result?
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I went down to the bitcoin ATM today... on: November 11, 2013, 06:50:28 PM
There is a 0% chance that you can recover any files from her PC without paying - the people that code these viruses do know their stuff and crypto.

Even if you pay, there is a chance that you won't get any decryption key. After all, customer service is not exactly what these guys are up to, as most of their customers don't want to deal with them in the future again.

You help her best by getting her a backup software, reformatting the PC and showing her how to do backups in the future. If you want to, you can try to pay the criminals instead, though I have my doubts that it'll work. Once Bitcoin ATMs become more widespread, these kinds of "data kidnapping" will also spread out, they already accept other digital payments like paysafecard for quite some time now.

I wouldn't say 0% because at one point everyone thought DES was unbreakable, and it got cracked.  Then, the same thing with AES, and now that can be brute forced with related key impossible differential attack to reduce complexity to like 2^60.  Complexity drops to 10^4 with side channel attacks.  But yeah, right now if you open that .zip file in your e-mail, unless you can stop if before its too late...  Well good luck not paying lol.
493  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Larger personal loan for long term needed w life insurance as collateral on: November 11, 2013, 04:37:52 PM
What are you suffering from?

chronic UTI. The bacteria (there are several) are pretty much normal flora in different parts of the body (like intestines). yeah, its my prostate and what I always get is "you are the first case I see this young and this bad". I have been through a lot of shit, even giving myself full infusion when I thought my insurance wouldnt pay.

How often per day do you urinate?
494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 11, 2013, 04:25:06 PM
We all know gox is becoming more insiginificant.  I can't wait til the day where they are no longer in business.  Also, feel bad for all of the people still hopelessly trying to get their money out...

Edit: It's up now.
495  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Reduction in return from CEX on: November 11, 2013, 04:19:42 PM
https://cex.io/maintenance which works out to be around 3% of the mining profits whilst mining.

Thank you, yeah still don't trust cex.io or ghash.io they have been doing some shady stuff (the betcoin debacle...).
496  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dollars spent in increasing network speed on: November 11, 2013, 04:09:26 PM
So I know that conventional graphs has us at 7.5 billion difficulty (58000 ph/s) in a year.

Are you just extending the exponential growth rate of the past month or so out a year?  There's no way its going to continue like that.  Sure there will be high diff jumps down the line, but there's simply not enough silicon being fabbed to continue that growth indefinitely.

I think the more accurate estimates are based on Bitcoin ASIC machines actually in the pipeline no?

7.5 billion actually isn't all that bad, but I think endgame as you've pointed out can be anywhere in the range of 5b-10b.  Also, this depends significantly on how much 1 btc is going for, the higher the price the higher difficulty goes.
497  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Reduction in return from CEX on: November 11, 2013, 04:06:41 PM
What is the fee going to be?
498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bears thread - unleash the bear in you in this thread on: November 11, 2013, 03:53:06 PM
I don't agree with this graph.  First of all, this graph does not include china, and as we all know they are leading this rally.  Second, its only gone down 2 points, which agrees with they price dropping slightly.  Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not buying this argument.
499  Economy / Speculation / Re: dollar collapse on: November 11, 2013, 03:49:30 PM
dollar wont crash lol

everyone is thinking that, then it wont happen

I tend to agree with Peter Schiff, the dollar will invariably collapse because it's being printed like there's no tomorrow. Or if the Fed pulls a Paul Volcker and shuts off the spigot, the US (and perhaps the rest of the world) will enter a deflationary depression. (Holders of "hard assets" like gold and bitcoin should probably fear that outcome the most.) That doesn't mean the USD will automatically do a Zimbabwe and die completely, but the US could experience >>20% CPI inflation, especially if the rest of the world no longer wants all those printed dollars. And if you start WW3 to try to force the Russians or Chinese to accept USD, then we're all doomed anyway. Grin

How does a deflationary depression = >>20% CPI.  It would be the other way around if its deflationary i.e. -20% CPI.
500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bears thread - unleash the bear in you in this thread on: November 11, 2013, 05:27:15 AM
This is typical sentiment of a 5th wave. Momentum is beginning to dwindle and divergences are appearing in underlying indicators. This is also the point where the average investor begins buying.

It's good being a bear! Only a bear can increase holdings without any extra investment.

Yeah wave 5 most likely on the way once this downtrend/sideways movement ends.  Only a matter of time i.e. Monday/Tuesday lol.
