The correct action then, is not to short BTC (which continues its inexorable exponential rise) but to short mankind, which apparently peaked around 1969.
LOL on shorting mankind. What happened in 1969? I think '71 was the year Nixon severed the dollar from silver once and for all. From gold. Silver certificates could no longer be redeemed for metal after 24 June 1968. IIRC we made it to the moon in July of '69. Also, I think the U.S. median standard of living peaked about that time. MLK Jr. was assassinated in 1968, Nixon elected, Timothy Leary arrested. Elvis went to Las Vegas. AIDS came to the U.S. Overall the end of the '60s was a very unfortunate turning point. But the deathknell for mankind was undoubtedly captured on videotape, thusly: What's New Pussycat? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI_ZehPOMwIWatch the moon astronauts first interview (beginning at about 1min25sec) They knew the music had died and the disco era was about to be ushered in. Either that or something funny happened on the way to the moon.

Thank you for the update, Is it possible for you to publish the weekly update aswell? Like the progress made last week and days. At what stage is the project?, Timelines. I think this is more interesting for (exodus) investors. A descending timeline on the wiki would be cool, maybe even one for major milestones and one for major development milestones. If anyone wants to help out on this front the community would definitely find it useful. However, fiscally speaking, I'd be one to commit more brainpower towards actual protocol development rather than rehashing said developments +1 The updates have a lot of good information but it would be great to see a bird's eye view for those simply asking "are we there yet?"

Is there anywhere I can buy test mastercoins for testnet bitcoins? Ideally this would be part of the test plan for the DEx. I was able to acquire some testnet bitcoins and they work with bitcoin-qt. When you run 'bitcoin-qt -testnet' it syncs with the blockchain near instantly. Voila, you've got testnet bitcoins but nowhere to spend them. As far as I know, TMSC are only exchanged for BTC. Since the test BTC don't interact with the actual BTC blockchain there's also no way of getting TMSC for testnet bitcoins. if you try buying TMSC on the masterchain.info DEx with your testnet bitcoins it will just tell you that your testnet address can't be found on the blockchain ( but I just tried it to make sure ) Ah, I see. Thanks.

Say I want to place an order for 100 AsicMiner shares at 5btc each, how many Mastercoin will I need? This hypothetical scenario will require 500 bitcoin and fill multiple asks on the mastercoin exchange The purpose is that I need a frame of reference for how many Mastercoin I would actually need if I planned to participate in the capital markets I posted a thread about this here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=400781.0You would need zero Mastercoins to do that. Only the issuer of the asset might need Mastercoins. interesting, so how many Mastercoin would the issuer need to issue a new security with X number of shares at Y price? is there a formula? any predictable measure? Guess remains to be seen after the smart property features are implemented. Don't think anyone knows such specifics at this point, but I may be wrong. The white paper indicates that to create a security as a 'smart property' no MSC are required. I assume the 'smart property' would then be traded on the distributed exchange for MSC.

excerpt: Crypto Network Technology May Go Well Beyond Payments The most recent Bitcoin software update allowed for meta data to be embedded in the block chain, which creates the potential for entities to sit on top of the blockchain and utilize the protocol to facilitate the exchange of assets ranging from other crypto currencies, financial securities, commodities, etc. Ultimately, we believe the protocol will be leveraged beyond financial assets and fulfill the role of trusted intermediary in a variety of settings, including property, legal documents, escrow, sports betting, etc. We believe this development will extend Bitcoin’s reach beyond early adopters to the mainstream public who either choose to utilize the network to due to superior cost/efficiency or through an intermediary that chooses to operate their business on top of the block chain instead of traditional rails. Mastercoin, for example, aims to take advantage of these recent updates and operates as a distributed exchange that sits on top of the blockchain. This development would enable any financial asset (bonds, stocks, commodities, etc.) to be exchanged across the bitcoin network in the same way the Bitcoin currency is exchanged currently. In this way, the blockchain acts as a trusted intermediary.

Count me in. If there is a way to make this provably fair it will garner more participation.
No. The participation is sky high. There are almost a hundred sign ups already in the other thread. Provably fair is a concept that only applies to gambling. You are risking exactly zero here. People are paying members to put ads in their signatures. You must forgo this opportunity in order to play. Hence your risk is the opportunity cost.

I was refering to the statement "After you invest, you won't be able to divest it" on the investment page. This seems to conflict with the statement you made above "you don't need to wait to receive all your investment plus the 50% to cashout". Perhaps an example would help clarify this.
ok, let's suppose you are the only investor with 0.01 invested, this 0.01 is already in the 6-hits jackpot, so, you can't "divest" it. After you invested, someone bought a ticket for 0.01, you as investor will receive 2% of the ticket, so your account will be credited 0.0002 in the next top of the clock. This 0.0002 credited in you account you can cashout. And now, clear? Ah yes now it makes perfect sense.

the time it will take will depend on the tickets volume and also how much are the total invest by all users, so we can't guarantee the time. But you don't need to wait to receive all your investment plus the 50% to cashout, everytime a ticket is bought the profit will be devided by the house and the investors, and your account will be credited every top of the clock.
is it clear?
I think it's clear. The time it will take is indefinite and during that time you cannot divest, right? yes, but you will receive income in your account hourly as far as that are tickets bought in that hour. Approximately how long does it take to make %50 profit and cashout? Is it something like 1 year? A normal investment make about %10 per year so it takes about 4 years to make %50. But these are bitcoins so you can't know what will happen in that 4 years or even 1 year. And also as this is a new site, and not much trusted, we can't know what will happen to your site in 1 year. In my opinion you should lower the %50 if it approxiamately takes more than 3 months or so.
