201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If no one spends bitcoin what might happen? on: January 25, 2018, 01:57:12 AM
Well, if no-one spends Bitcoins and no-one buys Bitcoin then there is basically no market. In fact, if the condition would last enough, at some point there would be no Bitcoin any more. It reminds me a line from the film Murder by Death:
Peter Seller in front of a butler who is giving no sign of life: "Heart does not beat. Butler does not breath. If condition will not change - butler dead."
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin is becoming normal on: January 25, 2018, 01:41:46 AM
It is not very exciting a scenario where Bitcoin starts to work as it should only when people are getting depressed for its falling price so that they stop to use it. Smiley
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good way to monetize Bitcoin in Europe: can you recommend one? on: January 25, 2018, 01:24:15 AM

Before I forget, I DON'T WANT to use Coinbase at all, I have had very bad dealings with them.

Thanks!

I have your same problem. I was planning to use Coinbase, so I would be very interested to know which bad dealing you had, so as to avoid your same bad experiences.
As for Kraken, if you don't already have an account, it will be scarcely useful to you now. I have recently opened an account but the option to verify your identity is disabled, which I guess it means you cannot withdraw anything by wire.
Other sites which allow wires to Europe are BTCC, Bitstamp and I guess Bitfinex. Anybody has experiences with any of them? Bitcoin.de is a broker which allows you to sell to other customers who will then wire you the money. Very safe system, since Bitcoin.de releases the BTCs only after you confirm that the wire has arrived.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: France, Germany to make joint bitcoin regulation proposal at G20 summit on: January 25, 2018, 01:03:22 AM
It very much depends on what they mean by "regulating". I'm reading a lot of enthusiastic comments on this issue in this thread, but I am much more skeptical - I will wait to see what they mean by "regulating" before rejoycing.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: January 25, 2018, 12:57:28 AM
In this very moment Bitcoin's fees are so high that even Western Union is cheaper than Bitcoin Cheesy So basically either Bitcoin will solve its problems of scalability or as a currency it is doomed.
206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Bloodbath.. on: January 24, 2018, 01:53:29 AM
It seems that bloodbath is already at its end, even if you can see a lot of weak hands bodies on the battlefield.
It was just a result of a deliberate manipulation, made by big players, just to push out of the market small investors and to buy at low price.

Not so sure about that. Analysts expect one more dive of BTC towards the 8000$ area, which would most likely trigger another selloff of altcoins. I guess we will find out this week, not later.
207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Turn $10,000 into 1 Million on: January 24, 2018, 01:50:40 AM
This is an impressive story, and I wish I had read this thread when it was first posted in May. However, I cannot complain too much about my own performance, I had a ton of EMC2 and even though I sold most of them very low, I still managed to turn a very little investment into a six figures one.
208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes in trading that lead to loss of money on: January 24, 2018, 01:43:44 AM
i've done pretty much done every mistake out there and i'm sure i'll do more. i've gotten bored with alts and sold them before they exploded. I bought in at the peaks of the biggest hypes ever. i've become emotionally attached to totally worthless coins.
the only things I haven't done yet are declare yet another bitcoin killer, 'this time it's different', new paradigm and all the other tired phrases.

One of my few mistakes in trading which i will always remember is buying many alts in peak values expecting them to pump more after seeing them pumping in last 24 hour with almost +100% gain price. Never buy any altcoin at those peak price is the biggest lesson in my altcoin trading career.

I am quoting these two commentaries because they both apply totally to my experience as well. I will add that in my first months in cryptos, a few years ago, I would fall for almost every kind of scam, before I realized how many cheaters are in this space. I had even managed to buy the infamous Pandacoin (PANDA) which was so much a scam that it lasted only a few days before the coin died as the devs dumped their premine on us bagholders.
Nevertheless, no matter how many mistakes, today I cannot really complain about the results I have achieved in time.
209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: One more leg down - price to 8000 - 9000 area? on: January 24, 2018, 01:35:15 AM
I really think so. My only concern is that the leg down could also exceed the 8000$ threshold, it could dive until 7000$ and some people think even more (which I don't believe). I guess we will soon find out.
210  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: your mentality after a huge loss? on: January 24, 2018, 01:32:40 AM
After a big loss I'm getting very depressed. The bad thing is that after a big win I'm not getting particularly happy. My mentality sucks Smiley This is making this whole trade issue a bit frustrating. But since in the end I am on the win side I won't really complain.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Meteoric Success Accompanies Various Shortcomings on: January 24, 2018, 01:11:25 AM
It took me a while to get an account at Binance, but finally I have managed that. They had stopped new memberships but then they have opened again. So anyone interested who couldn't join, now he/she may try again. Just to let you know.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: January 24, 2018, 12:58:45 AM
Fort sure it WAS better than Western Union, now with the outrageous fees that Bitcoin recently has, I am not so sure any more... Well, let's say that I'd still prefer Bitcoin over Western Union to transfer money, but I hope Bitcoin won't go further on the way of unusability, otherwise Western Union will end up winning this comparison.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: January 24, 2018, 12:38:09 AM
I guess that most of the criminal activities involving Bitcoin are happening within the crypospace - stolen wallets, hacked exhchanges etc. In the outside world, criminals have been happy to use dollars, euros and other FIAT currencies for ages. Cash is far less traceable than Bitcoin, so why should they change?
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does bitcoin crash occasionally? on: January 24, 2018, 12:15:55 AM
Have you ever heard the word "market"? This refers to a context of buyers and sellers, the buyers are convinced that the best thing to do is to buy, the sellers are convinced that the best thing to do is to sell. You wouldn't ask this question when the buyers ("the bulls") are in control and the price explodes to the upside. Well, when the seller ("the bears") get in control, the opposite happens. In cryptos, the swings are very extreme - that's it. But of course, big whales manipulate the market too. This happens in every market.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: January 24, 2018, 12:09:52 AM
Think about how the world was 100 years ago - 1918 - and think how it is now. These immense differences are NOTHING compared to those which we will experience in the next 100 years, since technology is rising exponentially. Therefore no way Bitcoin will exist in 100 years. Not probably anything you know today.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees are killing/have killed Bitcoin.... it is sad but true. on: January 23, 2018, 11:59:54 PM
Yes, you are right, fees are making BTC unusable for anything which is not trading. It is totally ridiculous to keep this situation like this. Bitcoin is now just an asset, not a currency. Hopefully the introduction of the Lightening Network will improve the situation, but I've read that it may take time.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOLD your sh*t on: January 23, 2018, 11:48:31 PM
It's not the newbies or little investors those who are making the market now, newbies who panic sell low after having bought high are just those who are losing their money. This is a Game of Whales. Bears are pushing the price low to get more cheap coins. If you didn't sell high, too late to sell now. Hold and wait.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: January 23, 2018, 11:44:56 PM
I would not say it is the new currency yet. It is unusable because of high fees, it is so volatile that you never know in any given moment which value it has and it still has not a mass adoption nor legal status.
219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the bitcoin price goes down on: January 23, 2018, 11:42:50 PM
In technical terms, after that we had a three waves Eliot way bull run, we are now experiencing an ABC Correction, as you can observe in the graph on this page:

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/tx5UPSSl-BTC-One-last-correction/

We probably still have to make a dive lower before we can see price inverting trend.
220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when prices are falling on: January 18, 2018, 05:06:42 PM
In days like yesterday, when prices fall or even tank, the best choice is to open a bottle of wine and hodl. Those who panic sell then are destined to regret in 90% of the cases.
