The MB must be some SLI/CrossFire board
one 4gb card make on Pcie 3.0 x16 (works as x16) gen3 slot now ~26Mh/s
Same board 2pc 4gb card on 2x pcie 3.0 x16 (works as 2x x8) gen3 slot makes 20-21Mh/s per card
For me was asus z170/z270 boards the best solutions

I updated my rig of two rx480 xfx to mine eth using hiveos
Both into x16 slots
Z170 A pro Motherboard
1card 28mh
2card 7mh
Cpu intel 7500
8gb ram
Hash rates went up nicely compared to windows but i wonder if its possible to make them run both
How do i configure lanes property.
I can't make second Pci to run at good rate, swapped the cards which proved its not gpu issue
There fails PCI express Gen3 parameters, not auto, and if you don't enable onboard gpu as primary that's the other problem, |

Hello,
Im having trouble running with 2x XFX rx480 4gb on z170 A pro MotherBoard (2x x16pci) on ETH
When i run ONE card using lolminer i get 19-20mh
--4g-alloc-size 4248 --keepfree 8 --devices 0
if allocation size is below this value, i get a joke hash (2-3mh)
As soon as i put second rx480 here is what happends
Card1: 14-15mh
Card2: 4-5mh
Set Gen3,
bove 4G decoding: enabled
driver version adrenaline 20.11.2
Windows 10
Im using windows, booted from m2 drive on motherboard, is it possible that it makes a conflict, will switching to linux help.
Never mined in linux before.

It's a miracle to mine in windows with 4gb 10+ mh/s MSI Z170 Pro A mobo: • 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (support x16/ x4 modes) if you use M.2 ssd that can use some PCIe lanes, use some USB flash or SATA ssd and some linux for better hashrate |

Here's an interesting thing.
I moved to HiveOS, flashed (via Hive) all my GPU to the modified bios.
One on rig, I wanted to switch it back to Windows for some general testing and comparison. Loaded up Windows, but none of the AMD software will recognize my cards. Win10 seems to have an issue regardless of what drivers I attempt to put on there.
So do I have to put the old BIOS back on, install the drivers AND THEN replace with the modded bios? Doesn't make sense as to what happened.
Just trying to figure this out.

The PCIE x16 method works - i am getting 25-26mh/s , which is x3 time more than regular.
I am just wondering , anyone knows how long will this last ? Should we expect lowering of the Hash in the following month or it can be more ?
How can we calculate it ?

Just 24pin + 8pin EPS for CPU, but you have right, can be a problem with the pci express power |

I think the third card isn't performing as the first two because of the RAM. If lolminer is using the RAM to compensate the vRAM missing, maybe at least 16gb RAM are needed, possibly 3200mhz so they are fast. Thanks, but this is not the memory, somthing else, here is the specs of the MoBo Expansion Slots: 2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (Single at x16, dual at x8/x8, ) 1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (max at x4 mode, ) - i think that is the reason why the third works on smaller hashpower 3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1 |

I have problem with miner. I have two rigs with 6xRX570 8gb nitro +, win 10, blokchain driver same bios on every card. Basicaly same two rigs. One is mining stable and around 31.5 mhs per card with -cvddc 900 -mclock 2200 -cclock 1150 . When I apply the voltage on second rig it goes down to 8 mhs after few minutes. If I dont put that it will mine ok but power goes to 1200w. If I mine with stock clock it goes to 25 mhs. Every other driver mines just 10 mhs. I use to mine with claymore and everything was fine and stable for 3 years. Is there a way to reduce voltage or something like that?
Update the driver to 20.11.1. , when I do that it only mines 10mhs like I said By new driver must be activate COMPUTE mode |
