Shouldn't this be on the announcements section?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Altcoins have the Highest Funding? on: May 03, 2015, 04:28:12 AM
What about NEM?  How much funding did they have from their ICO/IPO?  Over 100,000 USD?

Good question.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the worst advice you've heard? on: April 26, 2015, 08:23:27 AM
Altcoins in general. it's fun but after LTC -> every altcoin = long-shot probably should have just stuck with Bitcoin.

Lots of drama here. So what were the predictions? TL;DR
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 24, 2015, 09:16:37 AM
Now it is time to focus on other things than buying the coin. No idea of catching the falling knife especially when the knife has not fallen that much.
Personally what I have done is to pay all the bills and stacking up fiat.
I am also doing other project so I don't have that much time for trolling here and of course, buying the coin.
No point in buying a coin that only has so high probability to go down at this point.
Better to buy when the price is low, and not necessarily even at low price if it is on the way to 0.

I always thought you were a troll trying to manipulate the price, but to be so blatant--subtlety is not your art.

I had the same feeling. I have the urge to squeeze a little more XBT out of my purse for XMR.  Roll Eyes

I bought more. To hell with the down trend.

Just a friendly neighborhood bump.

This got me thinking. I think its time to take another look at NXT.

For the record I joined NXT just after the release but was swayed away primarily because of the amount of coins (1 billion).

Total amount of coins doesn't matter.  A large float non-inflationary currency will beat a smaller float inflationary currency every time.  NXT has ZERO inflation.

Total amount of coins matters with perceived scarcity in comparison to bitcoin. At that time (past tense) I perceived 1 billion to be outrageous. Right now, my perception is, 1 billion is acceptable.

If you want to know our recent activity, I'll try to list some.

NEM marketers have a budget of exactly $0 but with that budget run
Website (http://www.nem.io/)
Forum (https://forum.ournem.com/)
Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ourNEM)  Almost 2,000 followers
Twitter (https://twitter.com/nemofficial) Almost 500 followers
Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/ournem)  (Just starting out)
Weibo (http://weibo.com/nemchina)
BTC38 (http://www.btc38.com/altcoin/xem/)

Contacted and got deals for the following exchanges and payment processor for XEM.
Poloniex (https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_xem)
Bittrex (https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-XEM)
Coingateway (https://coingateway.net/)
And talks have been in the works for two more Chinese exchanges as well as another payment processor.

The NEM marketing team makes special efforts to answer questions as soon as possible when they come up here on this thread, Telegram, forum, and Facebook too.

Wrote everything on http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/ to make sure that all the community can work NEM.

Wrote a press release last week: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/more-under-development-next-generation-205200639.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=fb&fb_ref=Default

Working with different news outlets to get stories published about NEM

Helped to get these apps listing NEM as coin tickers:
Apple: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/coinfeed-bitcoin-dogecoin/id781662999
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobnetic.coinguardian&hl=en

Getting listed on CMC  https://coinmarketcap.com/#BTC
And getting listed on Cryptocoin Charts  https://www.cryptocoincharts.info/coins/info
Getting listed on Coin Gecko http://www.coingecko.com/

Made a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ClzvI5EFss

Again, all right now with a budget of $0.  Actually worse than a budget of $0.  We have been spending our own money.  In my case over $600, and others have spent a lot more than me.

So yes, marketing has been busy and hard at work and is still hard at work trying to make things happen in the future.  Hopefully soon we will get a real budget and start to really make a movement.

What a lot of people wanted was to wake up one day at launch and become millionaires with a full ecosystem up and running built on NEM.  That is not realistic even in the best case scenario, but with a lot more hard work and time, it might just be possible.  I know it is my intention.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM COIN? or next big thing? Global Coin Reserve on: April 12, 2015, 03:30:21 AM
I agree with most people. This is nothing but a worthless ponzi scam that will collapse or be shut down soon! Just look at the people pimping it. That cxl2000 guy in the moneymakergroup.com forum is a major ponzi pimp/spammer.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will NEM always live in NXT's shadow because it started as a NXT asset? on: April 12, 2015, 02:37:48 AM
I'm curious to know what people think. I'm seriously considering buying some long-term alts but I don't want them to go no where. It feels like the silver (NEM) and gold (NXT) scenario again (LTC = silver, BTC = gold).

Just know that NEM isn't another shitcoin or scamcoin. Its a great time to buy XEM right IMHO.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: (XEM) NEM Speculation thread on: April 11, 2015, 11:13:07 AM
NEM project took months of work and time. Dumping is expected. The question how long should I wait to buy at the bottom? My prediction is we will see a absolute bottom around 10-20 satoshis. I can wait. Imagine extremely cheap XEM. The long-term value will rise as more features or mobile wallet deployment. Steady as she goes gentlemen.

XEM/BTC Markets are available on Bittrex Exchange now.
