61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What factors scare others from investing into bitcoin? on: July 15, 2018, 06:23:24 AM
Bitcoin has come a long way and come really come to stay. As a matter of fact, anytime some people who know nothing about bitcoin are introduce to bitcoin about how bitcoin works, they channel all their attention to whoever is passing the information to them by listening attentively. However, after developing the interest in bitcoin, they quickly revert their interest in bitcoin the moment they hear of the volatile nature of bitcoin, thereby, deciding not to invest into it anymore. Guys, what are some other factors that scare people from investing into bitcoin?

What scares people away in my experience is the issue that the system of bitcoin is a ponzi scheme and it's illegal. Of course we all know here that it is not true but you'll be surprise how many other people outside this community see this industry as a bubble and hyped monkey business.  Many are afraid to lose money here and are believing everything they see in the news & Internet.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: July 07, 2018, 11:28:50 PM
If that's even his name. Just read the bitcoin wiki on him and I'm amazed. Nobody knows him.

Long time passed since he last posted in here. Why? "Busy"? I don't think so. He was active when bitcoin needed support but since the slashdot...
Also, it seems has knowledge in many areas, especially economy. He doesn't act like the average human. Not taking advantage out of his creation, leaving without telling anything. Is he even a single person or a group?

How can someone create something so great and not stepping out to get the credit?

It is really intriguing who is/are Satoshi Nakamoto. But if I am him/her/them, I would protect my identity also. Taking the credit personally with the world knowing me has pros and cons. And as much as possible,  I want to keep my personal life away from business. May be Satoshi doesn't like the public showbiz or whatnot. May be he just want to work.

Things you should know before investing in bitcoin

What everyone wants is to have a stable job and get good savings, the best option is to work the money to get more income for the future and thus have a better quality of life and what better to invest in bitcoin but before you should know certain things about This cryptocurrency.

it is not regulated: there is no entity that regulates and monitors this type of investment. So you should be aware that if you lose your money, nobody will answer

Bitcoin is a high-risk investment: people should know that the level of risk is very high, due to volatility and inability to predict its price. "

Do not get into debt to buy cryptocurrencies: this really should not be done with this or with another investment, if you are going to work your money with extra money you got.

Do not invest more than you are willing to lose: "it is recommended that you do not invest your savings in this currency; on the contrary, invest 1% of your assets, something that you are really willing to lose".

Use reliable pages: use safe sites to navigate and also only use reliable devices such as your cell phone, your computer and your home's wireless network. Never use public networks neither to make investments nor for any type of financial consultation.

Never get unnecessary attention than you are investing in any cryptocurrency because hackers and phishers might look up at you as their target. And always be patient in this industry.  Hard work is not enough if you have small temper to the task. Be responsible to your own investment which I mean is don't hate yourself too much if everything goes downhill.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is the vehicle, we run it on: July 07, 2018, 06:17:29 PM
A lot of posts are about bitcoin (eg bitcoin for illegal transactions ... bitcoins change lives ... bitcoin destroys the world ... bitcoin poison and so on) but basically it's all humans that move .. bitcoin is the tool. Good bad how the tool is how the man who runs. is it worth blaming bitcoin. What is your opinion?

It's like blaming the knife for all of the crimes it has been used and yet still keep it in the kitchen. Bitcoin is an innovation. And every innovation has a primary purpose in which in bitcoin is to aid our financial medium. But that purpose can be altered or change depending on the user. Just like the knife,  bitcoin is a tool and the person is the one that's responsible.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with my crypto when I die? on: July 07, 2018, 05:12:39 PM
Silly question right? Smiley
Unless there is a backup method or heritage system it obviously vanishes for eternity, but the point was to discover methods that you are aware for avoiding such risks.

Well, it's not a risk, it's a certainty, but there are other risks of losing access to the crypto account aswell.
Some like:
* death... obviously
* house burns down along with hard wallet
* one can accidently loose his cold storage or hard wallet
* maybe other you figure out and I add them

So, what storage do you use to ensure your savings, or what do you think would be the best solution to overcome these risks?

UPDATE: I started this discusion because I can't see a decentralized solution for that, most of the centralized ones are largely known (wills at layers, online wallets and so on) but do not meet the security criteria as still imply a trusted party. Better simply handover the private key directly to the inheritant IMO.

What I want to determine is if it IS realy a concern for the comunity or not, and if yes than we can contribute all together to the creation of a such product. But again I realy do think it should be built decentralized and trustless.

Being decentralised will bring pros and cons and this is one of the cons. It's hard to formulate a efficient solution for this as a community. People here can only secure their account if any accident happened to them by personally letting those he trusts know his account beforehand.
66  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Money laundering via BTC on: July 06, 2018, 04:37:03 PM
Is it possible to do money laundering via bitcoin? I mean as no one knows if you have bitcoin and how much bitcoin do you actually own, it could be used to convert black money to white right? Or at least store your black money without much hassle. But there is the risk of its value but I think for people who have lots of black money and don't want to be caught, this risk might be worth taking for them isn't it?
What are your thoughts?

I believe that this is already happening and the government is alarmed about this simply because it is not regulated thus can drain their fiat without earning any tax. There's a lot about this issue and many scammers are abusing this feature. It's hard to deal with this kind of topic but I hope we can fix it and clear the name ot cryptocurrency.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is For Risk Takers on: July 04, 2018, 10:18:44 PM
I seen lots of people are panic and selling and spreading FUD . But based on my experience people who really dare to take risk only won here .
Wise and daring investors are still searching for good potential coins to invest while its really cheap were greedy people are panic and spreading FUD
Finally people who dare to invest bitcoin even when the price of 100$ they created fortune here . Its completely daring and vision not at aall luck . SO if you are having real vision and want to make milestone in life then be here in crypto and support other wise please quit .

I think we should be more optimistic than a risk taker. The difference is that risk takers don't care at all and wanders blindly in the dark tunnel. While optimistic investors can see light at the ene of the tunnel. Our patience and hard work is measured so that we can be rewarded in the ene of this businesses journey.

I can clearly see that there are other cryptocurrencies that are beginning to dethrone bitcoin, showing off there quick and secured transactions, though bitcoin continues to be the king. What does bitcoin need to improve state your opinions.

Bitcoin is in need of more human interaction and more familiarity or connection with the public. But I think this will only be more focus on when all bitcoins are mined. This can create a stability to bitcoin and its price thus people will now see more on the function as a currency than as an asset for investment.

If you want to secure your bitcoin there are two ways to keep safe it.

70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea Opens Doors for Cryptocurrency on: July 03, 2018, 01:26:15 PM
I believe in a year or two we will see the whole world moving in the same direction regarding bitcoin. most of the countries will start off by calling bitcoin things like "commodity" and then setting taxes like this, sometimes higher than it should be and some other countries will see its true nature and see it as a "currency".
in the end the best way is to take taxes from the investors on exchanges and remove taxes from it for those who use it as a currency. basically something like Japan with a lower tax.
Actually, there is a big possibility that bitcoin will be accepted in all countries. I think open doors for cryptocurrnecy will help the country of South Korea to grown their economy and I think it has a positive effect in their industry because they will adopt it. I also believe that bitcoin and all countries will open their doors for cryptocurrency.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin go under regulation on: July 03, 2018, 08:11:55 AM
Many government are seeing Bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a threat to their financial system and they think it should be regulated to solve the problem. Do you think they can regulate Bitcoin ?

Hopefully no. I love cryptocurrency where it is right now and if it falls under the hand of the government, they will just abuse their power. I'm saying this because in our country, most of them are corrupt. And regardless of the policies they create, there is always a loophole so that it will favor them and not the user.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we make sure that our money we invest in Bitcoin is safe? on: July 03, 2018, 07:43:09 AM
I just want to know how those people behind bitcoin secure the money they will invest because as far as I know there are lots of hackers all over the world.

The most effective way to ensure the security of your wallets is to never click in any unfamiliar site you might encounter. These might be are pishing sites that can still vital information about you and your account. It will also not hurt to avail premium security programs to ensure no one is hacking to your system.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the most crucial year for bitcoin? on: July 03, 2018, 07:15:12 AM
Bitcoin exceeded $ 10,000 in 2017. What's going to happen to Bitcoin in the coming year?

Every moment is crucial in this industry. But I agree that this year will be time where big things will happen. I am not sure what exactly it is but I can feel that something will happen and will change the course of bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency. Hopefully, it will be a good thing so that this innovation can still continue in the years to come.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Schools Are Officially Accepting Bitcoin for Tuition on: July 02, 2018, 04:35:34 PM
its a good news that schools accepting bitcoin so their parents which have bitcoin can pay for their kids and this is a good sign for education world and soon people will realize about bitcoin. we can see more schools accepting bitcoin once the government or another schools read about the news. and yes bitcoin is make our life become simple and easier because we can have another selection to pay what we buy in internet and in real life.
It is a really good news because some school already started to accept bitcoin as payment of their student to their tuition. However, implementing of this idea will be harder because some government is against cryptocurrency and we all know that all school are under by government. I hope this is the start of adoption of bitcoin because it can really help many students.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Government bans Bitcoins? on: July 02, 2018, 02:49:08 PM
Some countries were already banned bitcoin, and here in my country they did not banned it not because they don't know what to do but they find bitcoin as an interesting and a great opportunity for the people, and a big help in our growing economy.
As of now there already countries who started to banned bitcoin and I think it is a bad news especially to the people who invest or buying bitcoin. Government bans bitcoin simply because they can control it and even a bank can't manipulate it. Lastly, I think it is the reason why some government started to banned it.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to store Bitcoin safely ? on: July 02, 2018, 01:52:07 PM
Hi guys
I know this might sound like a newbie question, but Ive not had enough bitcoin to think about putting any in cold storage since Cryptsy ripped me off when they went down Sad
But just lately ive built myself back up a bit, and just need to check my understanding of a creating a cold wallet is correct ? This is what I think was the best way but im not sure Huh

1. Download latest BTC client
2. move to a pc not connected to the internet.
3. Create an address on that PC without internet.
4. Send fund to address created on PC with no internet access.
5. Save keys in safe place Smiley

Also I was wondering if there are any 100% safe third party wallets that enable quick access if needed ?

Sorry if my question has been covered many times, but I just don't want to make a big mistake.

Thanks
Rick
Simple creating wallet will really help you to keep your bitcoin safe and secure. By creating wallet you can fully manage your bitcoin on how you will protect it. And then, we must keep your password especially our private key and then do not ever try to share in to any person especially to a stranger. Just keep in a safe place and also try to use hardware wallet.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more risky? Bitcoin or bank investment? on: June 27, 2018, 10:55:52 PM
Bitcoin is indeed risky. But bank investments are risky too. In our country (coz I'm not sure if this exist in other countries). When you have a large amount on your account they will call you and ask you if you want to invest, minimum of 20,000 Php (or 400 USD). They will propose some investment plans where there is a choice of low, medium, or high risk investment. When you choose the high risk there is a chance to lose or gain 100% of your investment (Medium is 75% and low is 50% if I remember it right). It doesn't make sense to me, it sounds like a scam, they will invest using your money and you don't have any control to it. That is why I like bitcoin more, coz Though it is risky and it's very volatile, you have full control on your investment.

What do you guys think?

Bitcoin is of course has more risks than bank investment because the price of bitcoin is fluctuating thus the market for cryptocurrency is also fluctuating. But this doesn't mean that bank investment is better than bitcoin. Bitcoin can produce higher profits as long as you are wise enough to spot when to buy or sell.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The FALL OF BITCOIN on: June 26, 2018, 10:06:02 PM
It is very sad to say that a technology like this would come to a big tragedy
Bitcoin has the potential to be great but it has become a weapon of Greed

The real use of bitcoin as a payment system is just a fantasy
But what happens in reality, it is just a pump and dump coin like the rest

The only coin that is using blockchain technology the right way is USDT or Tether
most other coins are just scams and not meant for adaptability

A currency is something that can be used for daily basis rather than just an investment
majority of people who buy bitcoin is just for investment and not used as a payment itself

Never the less
HAIL HYDRA!

The Hail Hydra quote got my attention but I still believe that bitcoin cans still be used as a currency. It is just not now. We can't be sure in the future but our technology is progressing and so our views are also changing. There is still hope in the future and what this crypto needs is more industries to accept them as payment so that people will use it more once is stabilized.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/south-korean-supreme-court-rules-bitcoin-asset/

I read about this news that in south korea bitcoin is legally become recognizeable as asset. I do think bitcoin is a currency and not an asset. I dont know whether this is good news or not for cryptocurrency. One thing i believe with legalization from goverment i do think more investors will come to invest in bitcoin, but i think if bitcoin become an asset its not as it suppose to because i believe bitcoin should be a currency which is currency is for transaction and asset is not for transaction.

Bitcoin right now tends to move as an asset more frequently. As it creates jobs right now in this industry, I still hope that it can still function as a currency in the future. It is still limited where you can spend bitcoin on but many establishments are already considering to accept them. The approval of government has a large impact on this so we can wait to see what will happen next.
