41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Royalcoin Exchange on: May 16, 2013, 01:14:58 AM
No need for condescending behaviour Hydroponica, it's hardly a welcoming feeling when on the receiving end. Especially for newer members.

Because its a joke and an insult, to the people who actual put time and effort into designing these coins in the first place, and you should all, as Crypto Currency supporters and believers, feel ashamed for supporting this garbage.

As for this comment, the people who made Bitcoin were happy to make it open source and unleash it upon the world - for the good and the bad. There have been some interesting coins in development lately with features that other coins don't have and are leading the way in next gen altcoins - adversely, there have been literal copy/paste jobs with no effort or additional features or changes.

If you dislike the copy/paste jobs, then simply don't support them and don't mine them. A vast majority of them will die off quickly and wont stay around anyway. Just keep in mind that they do have a place in the altcoin community at the moment and that is why they exist. Whether you consider it a good or bad thing.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] 0pticoin (0TC) - Release Date: May 15, 2013 - Postponed ~1 month [ANN] on: May 15, 2013, 11:14:30 PM
Good to hear that you're taking your time, though my thoughts would be to take as long as you need, and release a finished product, not a test coin. If you want to release a test coin then ask a few people you trust to jump on a private network and have gpu hashing wars for a week or so - dont release a test coin to the public. I'd imagine everyone would jump on it asap and go crazy trying to make money off of an unfinished product in your eyes - if you're ok with that, then by all means.

I just think you might like people to play with your finished and polished product, rather than a dented coin.

Another thing i wanted to add, just for a bit of flavour: rename the coin to "SuspenseCoin" or "PostponedCoin" ? =)
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] UberCoin | Realease Now ! | Scrypt on: May 15, 2013, 09:52:37 PM
Oh man =( i actually got excited for this coin when i clicked on the title >.< i personally love collecting coins that have interesting or fun sounding names.

Though i also have a big personal hate for coins which contribute nothing new or different and are straight up literal clones of a previous coin.

... I really wanted some UberCoins... or maybe some PwnageCoins? 1337coins =o? I'm getting excited!!

God... Damn these freaking subject lines, i freaking swear....

I'm going to go mumble to myself angrily in a corner for a few minutes before punching an innocent bystanding plant/tree of sorts due to having to deal with these freaking subject lines.

On a less annoyed note though; cryptsy will most likely have RYC when it goes live due to the fact that its ones of BigVern's biggest pools running at the moment. As for the other exchange - most likely bter, as all the rumours have been saying. No need to keep the speculation to yourself hdclover.

I'm actually physically speechless at the moment.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Bought 700,000 [BQC] BBQCoin Last Night? on: May 15, 2013, 12:27:41 PM
Who doesn't sleep a little better at night with a little BQC under the pillow!

Under? I use my BQC as my pillow, that way if im ever hungry in the middle of the night, i have a conveniently placed snack right under my head!
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Bought 700,000 [BQC] BBQCoin Last Night? on: May 15, 2013, 12:21:51 PM
IMO the pump and dump already occured. I happened to witness it live and was pretty shocked when i saw the high pump for bbqcoins. I cashed in most of mine at the .000130 mark and was rather happy.

Great thing about BQC though is that since the difficulty is so low, i can just mine a bunch more on the weekend if i want, so i can always be in the comforting company of my deliciously yummerific bbq coin <3.

I have a feeling you're right BitJohn, compared to the other recent coins this week, RYC has a few really solid pools up and running. I have a feeling the demand will be there for an exchange shortly. There are also those rumours going around about bter buying out a bunch of RYC a couple days ago as well.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get some Nyan Coin up in here??? [NYC] on: May 15, 2013, 11:43:07 AM

What about NYA or NYN?  Do they all have to end in C?

Yeah, unfortunately its a rule. It's the rule for any coin which aims to be successful; end in coin.

My vote is for NyanCoin.

(NYC)
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 15, 2013, 10:19:03 AM
People are actually still mining PowerCoin/Franko... (coin?)?? Seriously? I mean i guess most altcoins are a bit of a joke with the way they are developed and released, but those ones... jeez.

At least Chinacoin had a bit of mystique behind it because no one could read the website...

IMO Royalcoin perhaps could have had an interesting launch if it had a website written in german... or perhaps russian =o
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get some Nyan Coin up in here??? [NYC] on: May 15, 2013, 10:15:49 AM
I mean, i'm pretty sure we; as the altcoin community ... need to overrun BitCoin with NyanCoin .. just saying.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get some Nyan Cat Coin up in here??? [NYC] on: May 15, 2013, 02:01:01 AM
Good point, perhaps i wont pay 10btc for it, i would however pay many of the btc's for a real life NyanCoin =D Casascius coin style i mean. I'd love to hit up a poker table and have my lucky NyanCoins with me =).
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get some Nyan Cat Coin up in here??? [NYC] on: May 15, 2013, 01:33:32 AM
I sent you 10 so I don't have to hear about this god damned 'Nyan Cat' shit any more, lol.

Seriously though, I get the joke. The amount of useless alts being released is nearly as annoying as that 'song'.

Thanks for the donation, but I'm serious I want me some Nyan coins. I hope there will always be a market for novelty coins.

I totally want the collectors edition NyanCoin =o i'll pay 10btc for it.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get some Nyan Cat Coin up in here??? [NYC] on: May 15, 2013, 01:16:53 AM
Out of all seriousness, if someone actually makes NyanCoin, i will mine it for a week minimum. Don't even care if it'll be worthless, i just want to be a NyanCoin kinda guy =o.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin difficulty on: May 15, 2013, 01:12:54 AM
what in universe is with the lltc difficulty in last few days? went from 400ish to 605 in a week....

People got tired of wasting their hashing power on scamcoins?

-MarkM-

Litecoin could have easily been seen as a scamcoin when it came out and probably was by a few people. It's obviously solidified itself in the cryptocurrency world as an accepted coin though, so it'll only ever increase in popularity most likely - look at what happened to bitcoin? Fair few people hashing that out i hear.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 14, 2013, 11:57:41 PM

BigVern's exchange is currently in testing mode, so coins are made-up at the moment and a few people are helping him test it out to make sure it works correctly. It won't be functional for a while i think, he's taking his time to make sure it works well and he irons out all the bugs/issues. I recommend checking for updates on the above forum link and i also highly recommend all of his pools - they pay out the correct amount and are constantly up, i've been mining a few of his pools for about a week now and they seem pretty solid.

BigVern seems pretty legit imo, his pools aren't heavily advertised because retards don't use his pools and spam everyone with ad's, keep an eye out for things he does - he and his friends are contributing a fair bit to the altcoin community. Remember to put in a donation % if you mine from his pools for appreciation purposes.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 14, 2013, 10:27:04 PM
I know that there is a beta exchange that has it listed. Still also hearing rumors that others are waiting out the CNC FTC storm

ye i heard one too

Oh? That's the first time i've heard that. I'd imagine an exchange like btc-e would be in that position, but how about bter? They seem pretty happy to adopt anything that is popular enough, do you think we could get them to post RYC?
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Elacoin | Released | Fair Elastic Scrypt Mining | No Premine on: May 14, 2013, 10:15:54 PM
FC2 was intended as a parody of sorts of current altcoin releases. If people wish to mine it, more power to them. It has had a surprisingly smooth launch, though, I will say.

HazardCoin (name subject to change), should I decide to develop it, will be a big departure from current altcoin releases, and will attempt to fix the problems we've seen with recent coins. It won't be a copypaste job.

FC2 perhaps did have a smooth launch - in terms of you being technically competent. I'm sure you know full well the that an insta-release with no announcement shouldn't be considered "smooth".

Just as long as you know, people are watching you with an eagle eye now Hazy. I'm hoping that if you decide to develop your own coin, you make the project rather transparent and ask for help/idea's from other people on your own thread - 2 heads are better than 1.
