I have recently uploaded new firmware to github that enables the ATX-Pi to automatically resume after power is restored. Should be useful if your power goes out while you are away from your rig. https://github.com/KD8SSF/ATX-Pi

Received tracking number this evening. Let's get working...

Good to see these shipping out. Now how about an update on the USB bootloader and I2C code? How soon will the work on these be completed??
|
|
|
Ok now that we'll finally be getting these, what is everyone using to power these and switch on the power? Is everyone using the paperclip method with an atx power supply or has anyone made a switch? Also the only thing I need yet is a decent USB hub. Any cheap 8-10 ports that you all recommend?
If you are using a Raspberry Pi you might be interested in my solution: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263567.msg2815917#msg2815917

Alright, well, I have my chips now and most of my components. Now I need programmed PICs and K1 boards. Suggestions?
I have access to a local place that can make boards but I am unsure of the information I need to give them. I'd also really rather avoid programming the PICs myself, as that would require further investment than I was hoping for a hobby project.
Try Digikey for the PICs. I know they will program AVR chips before they send them out I can't imagine why they wouldn't offer the same service for a PIC. The board files should be on the github referenced in this thread

(Past) time for another update Steamboat when will our hardware be shipping???
|
|
|
Apparently my first request came in a day late and there's simply not enough refund $$$ to go around.
So, when did you submit your request? Curious to see when this cut off was...

Refund requested +14 days ago, not received and I have not received an email either saying that I am not eligible. Can't say I am surprised. So Steamboat, who do we have working on the firmware issues? The USB bootloader is very important, hopefully you guys can have that finished quickly...I'd rather not get something worth less than a paperweight by the time the code is finished...

I am trying to recover my two sets of boards and components from Steamboats buy. I would be interested in reselling them if you are in need when I receive them. Let me know, otherwise I will probably use them for soldering practice.

With no set date to receive chips and the current state of the K16 project I am left with no choice but to refund. My investment was not large to begin with so the hash rate I would receive is now worthless. I will take what I can get back from assembly, but if it is only 25% then I definitely want the boards and components I paid for...maybe I can use them for soldering practice...

There is a LOT of FUD going around in Steamboats group buy thread about there being no fully populated and working K16 boards. Could anyone put that to rest, or otherwise spell out where we are at? I'd like to have a quote to take back there and put this to rest. Thanks.

We have a difference of perspective then. I see 95% of purchase price refunded (where the 5% went we don't know for sure). You see this missing 5% as an additional charge. Sorry for the snark because your point is valid. Just too hyped up about this right now, the atmosphere in here has gotten ugly. Should probably be in bed...

[Note: Some have suggested the total overhead paid to SB is only 5% after cancellation. The chips cost SB .078BTC each - he charged .086BTC, but is only refunding .081BTC. Sure looks like 15% to me.]
10% of 0.078 = 0.0078 <-- SB's markup. 0.078 + 0.0078 = 0.0858 <-- Cost per chip from SB rounded up to 0.086. 95% of 0.086 = 0.0817 <-- Refund from SB as stated in the email and on forums. 100% - 95% = 5% <-- BTC lost in the course of doing business. Seriously. This happens. Check the thread for evidence of work being done. May I suggest https://www.khanacademy.org/ for your remedial maths

Good point, didn't think about it in terms of getting 5% of the markup back. As for the rest of your post, please don't associate me with being unreasonable/troll of others. I have literally said zilch about any of this other than gather lists of people wanting a refund when steamboat was not talking. But then again, didn't each other group buy organizer also refund their markup (not sure if they had a markup)?
I'm sorry that was probably a little heavy handed, the FUD/trolling is getting thick in here...

The service fee has been reduced to 5%, which seems fair. Thanks for the update.
Still curious to hear about assembly, parts and shipping.
Seems fair? This is absolute bullshit. Steamboat already made 10% on each chip order. Why does he deserve another 5% for essentially filling out a refund form from Yifu. Granted he will have to deal with all the paperwork but that was what he signed up for when he organized this group buy - total control. Why was every other group buy organizer able to provide a 100% chip refund? This is absolutely outrageous. Not sure where the additional 5% talk is coming from...it's quite clearly spelled out in the update. It reads like half of the 10% markup is being refunded, so does this still sound like a bad deal when he is trying to operate a business in the real world and has put in unknown quantities of time and money into arranging the hosting and assembly? None of us really have a good idea of the financials on this, there quite possibly are costs that cannot be recovered at this point. So steamboat and crew should all go to the poor house because you want to recover 100% of your Investment. For god's sake there were people a few pages back saying we should get an injunction on his funds because he hasn't posted in the thread for a few days. As well as the (baseless) attacks on his character and intentions, trolls were all up in here talking about how there was a deadline from Yifu for Wednesday, when this was not the case at all. I feel like he deserves the 5% just for putting up with you twats. /rant off

Now more then ever I would like to know klondike preformance and overlocking capabillities. That would help me with my decision and if I decide that I want the boards and want to be prepared, so better now then later, lol
Last I heard, there was still not a 100% completed design, as there's never been a fully populated klondike design, and I believe BKKcoins has abandoned the project, due to the clusterfuck. Seems like it's still a gamble whether or not your klondike will even hash reliably at stock clock speeds. I don't think firmware development was even completed... So there's a pretty good chance that Steamboat's not even going to be able to deliver working units anyway, even if you do stick it out... From the official Klondike thread:Another problem I noticed, is that when I setup cgminer with the API options for K16, cgminer would have a Segmentation Fault when trying to access the API to get stats.
Has anyone else had SegFaults when trying to access the K16 API ?
kosta
Yes I just compiled and got a segmentation fault. I was assuming that it was due to a graphics driver issue, because my cgminer (with gpu) does the same thing, while my cgminer-nogpu does not do this when I compile it under Linux Mint 14. How do you get cgminer to compile with no gpu support, but with klondike support and icarus support? I wanna test Klondike compiled version actually runs, but I don't have a Klondike, so I want to compile it for icarus as well. I can't find the flags list anywhere (having a mental moment)... Hi guys, I've got cgminer compiled and it's working quite good on x64 and RPi. API working as well. Things I've done: Cloned repo here https://github.com/bkkcoins/cgminer-klondikeThen in the folder: ./automake.sh ./configure --disable-opencl --disable-adl --enable-klondike make Just one problem - when I connect more than one K16, it wont start, just freezes where it says CGMiner version ... With one it's hashing OK. Anyone had success with this? Thanks. So if you could kindly STFU about boards not working...yes it appears there are still issues but there are people working out the kinks as we speak.

does this somehow offers users the ability to remote shutdown the miners?
"Out of the box" - no. If you wanted to write a script on the Pi to listen for a remote shutdown and then write an interrupt on the Arduino side that watches a pin on the ribbon cable (so your remote shut down script can signal to have the PSU shut off), that would work. There is plenty of available program memory left on the Arduino so an interrupt should pose no problem.

FWIW still in for my 32 assembled chips in B3. It's academic at this point...I want to support Bkk by running his hardware in the wild. Still excited for this project even after all the noise

Does anybody knows how to make a refund from Liquid Synergy? (chips and/or assembly)
Chip refunds will likely never happen...assembly is still an open question.
