741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we repeating the 2014 BTC crash??? on: March 19, 2018, 05:24:02 PM
Every bear market crash is different so you cannot compare one with the other based on a chart. The reason for this crash is the mt gox sell off and the increasing number of regulations from different countries. The G20 summit has dismissed the need for regulation and the next mt gox sell off is after september so we should be ok now
742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Rate my portfolio please on: March 19, 2018, 05:21:21 PM
XSPEC is good, but looking at your portfolio i would dump ETC and put more into LISK. There is a much bigger development team and a bright future ahead. ETC is an abandoned version of ethereum that few serious projects will bother to use. LISK will compete with ethereum later this year when DAPPS are built on their sidechains.
743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: We are all fu***ed on: March 19, 2018, 05:18:28 PM
Normies probably bought in at the ATH speculating that they will double their money within a few months, but due to the crash they mitigated their losses and cashed out early. Can't say it was a bad thing as it did go down further, we should hope they do return and invest again at the right time - which as we all know is now!
744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chart Shows Bitcoin Hitting $91,000 By March 2020 on: March 19, 2018, 05:14:07 PM
It is not impossible based on the chart, an upwards trend should continue in the long run but we're all wondering about how long this bear market will last. The chart shows that it can last a long time, although now because it is more mainstream than before i think the bear market will be short with a recovery due soon thanks to this good G20 news.
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH goes from 11 $ to almost 1000 $. What about Waves? on: March 19, 2018, 05:08:40 PM
Both are completely different. Ethereum can run dapps whereas waves is just a token machine. The good thing about waves is that it is very easy to use, but it means there are too many scammy coins that are worthless. Ethereum is complicated but it has both scam and serious projects on it's blockchain.
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Zcash be a tool to avoid tax? on: March 18, 2018, 10:07:52 AM
Any privacy coins can be used to evade tax. Zcash is one example but there are many more as well. I would pick lower market cap coins as they are away from government radars and have the potential to rise up more. Deeponion (TOR integrated) is a good example with a low market cap and solid roadmap for the future.
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: (Capitalism)ICO's having a hard time to be listed in centralized exchangers.. on: March 18, 2018, 10:04:27 AM
It is difficult to get listed in the bigger exchanges unless they already have a high trading volume and demand. That is why they list on smaller exchanges first before hitting the bigger ones. Also it costs a lot to get into bittrex and binance so the ICO has to be really success to get into those exchanges and have enough for development
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this Satoshi's Biggest Mistake? on: March 18, 2018, 10:01:43 AM
He left it in good hands by creating a foundation with plenty of volunteers. Other coins however will need to keep some development funds to survive as they won't be as popular as bitcoin. They won't have developers working for free, and it should be locked into a smart contract with gradual release over several years.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW DO YOU THINK ABOUT ANONYMOUS COIN on: March 18, 2018, 09:55:35 AM
Once the coins are stolen there is not much you can do about it. It is easy to convert into anonymous coins so even if they stop listing the top 3 privacy coins, another exchange will do it. Also there is a rise in Decentralised exchanges which has no requirement for know your customer. They should have requested a NEM fork instead.
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chinese bitcoin tycoon Li Xiaolai's new project for 2018 on: March 18, 2018, 09:49:12 AM
Good point, every coin can succeed in a bull market but now you can see that top coins like ethereum are dropping so his success may not be repeated. Also, there is a lot of similar projects available such as ONZ which is a new Chinese based social media platform on the blockchain (successful ICO just completed). https://onzcoin.com
751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need to double 4,000 USD in 2 weeks on: March 18, 2018, 09:44:24 AM
As many others have said, you will need to take a risk and in this market that risk is going to be big. I recommend buying WAGERR and using their sports betting platform to double your money. WAGERR itself might double, and if you win your bets then you'll get even more profits! Not sure if betting is available yet but if not it will be soon
752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe John McAfee is right about Bitcoin hitting $500,000 in 3 years? on: March 18, 2018, 09:40:08 AM
Definitely not, that is way too high. John McAfee is just the leader of a pump and dump group who is paid to pump coins - even crap shitcoins. It will be around $100,000 and sit there for a while. It is hard to justify paying half a million for a bitcoin when there are so many alternative coins flooding the market.
753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coins will you buy during this dip ? on: March 18, 2018, 09:33:21 AM
NEO is certainly one of the best buys at the moment. I think this is going to be one of the best performing coins in 2018 as it is highly respected in China and also the rest of the world. They have a large and talented pool of developers and are willing to work with regulators to ensure longevity.
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn more merit LEGALLY ??? on: March 18, 2018, 09:31:13 AM
The simple answer is to write interesting posts that offer something useful. An example is to call out a scammer by doing research and submitting your proof to the bitcointalk community. By helping to clean up the crypto world you will be doing us a service and will receive a lot of free merit for it.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google to BAN crypto advertising-includes Youtube on: March 18, 2018, 09:28:55 AM
It doesn't say that it will ban youtube channels so big ones like boxmining can still carry on with his youtube vids. However, those annoying popups will simply sell you washing up powder instead of bitconnect coins. No difference to me or anyone else, not many will click on those ads anyway and just click the x to close them.
756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency is the most anonymous? on: March 18, 2018, 09:25:36 AM
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned XSPEC yet, although there is still a battle going on with the state of development it is still a good anonymous coin with stealth addresses and TOR integration. However, if you want a good investment then DeepOnion has a large development team and ambitious roadmap. This will go up for sure.
757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What am I to do? on: March 18, 2018, 09:19:57 AM
It depends on how quickly you need money. The market will recover as it always does so the best thing to do is HODL. If you can spare it however, an even better thing to do is buy more to mitigate your losses. If you buy a coin at $10 and then again at $5 then your average price is $7.50 so your losses overall will be less
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is 2018 the year of stablecoins? on: March 18, 2018, 08:52:24 AM
There is no need for an influx of stable coins, if the price doesn't move then there isn't much point investing in them. Part of the fun is seeing your investment go up and down, although less fun when it goes down Grin If they are tied to different markets then it could be good e.g. gold, usd, oil, etc..
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think this year will be Red? on: March 18, 2018, 08:46:44 AM
I think that this is a prolonged period of red but 2018 will recover, the market always does when there is good news - we just need to wait for it! There is a lof of pent up demand right now, when there is a sign that a bull trend will begin, there will be a sharp correction going up so it's good to get some cheap coins now.
760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine to Legalize Crypto Mining as Economic Activity on: March 18, 2018, 08:41:22 AM
This is a step towards mainstream adoption of bitcoin and altcoins. Ukraine is next to Russia both of which have talented blockchain developers so this is great news. The only problem is that Ukraine is reliant on Russia for energy and they don't have good relations. Hopefully, they will have enough electricity to mine new coins.
