1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most popular cryptocurrencies for investors? on: Today at 06:20:07 AM

That was obvious that the majority of crypto enthusiasts holding is Bitcoin. Even me, I give priority on Bitcoin and 75-80% on it was in Bitcoin asset and the rest is on potential altcoins like Ethereum and Binance coin. Top 10 altcoins on CMC will be fine but I have doubt on BSV and probably that is the reason why not shown on the asset popularity chart even it is top 5 on CMC. I personally have doubts on BSV coin that's why I did not hold it into my portfolio.

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Overcharges on Electrum? on: Today at 05:49:41 AM
Yes, I did create the 2FA thing.  I thought it was required as an additional security feature.  They don't tell you what they consider to be a "small fee"...
For me, it is the same security level as the feature 2FA thing. Although there is a 2FA code when accessing the wallet but you can still use it if you lose your mobile phone. You can restore it back from its seed phrase and disable the 2FA. That's why I did not prefer to use 2FA Electrum wallet.

Regarding the small fee, it was a fixed fee of 0.001 BTC total or $8 at this current rate and that is a normal thing of 2FA wallet feature because they use the third party which is the TrustedCoin. You should learn how the Electrum 2FA wallet works. As suggested by @nc50lc was right, transfer your bitcoin into the standard Electrum wallet and you can modify the transaction fee even 1 sat/byte will be fine and use this Bitcoin Fee Calculator to know how much sats will cost per transaction confirm.
3  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: where to buy a decent amount of btc in Aus?? on: January 24, 2020, 10:29:11 AM
Hi all, just wondering if theres anywhere to buy a decent amount of btc in Aus anonymously?
I just want to remind you that even you are buying bitcoin anonymously it is till being a traceable transaction(through IP, address you use). That is a huge amount of bitcoin about 50 BTC and I think that is not good if you made the transaction at once. Just split it into 5 times maybe it can help not just in a single transaction. Here I found useful links just read it carefully ( How To Buy Bitcoins Anonymously ) but this is not financial advice, of course, do your own research.
4  Other / Meta / Re: idea: Merit source could have a negative smerit balance on: January 24, 2020, 09:50:43 AM
Ain't a merit source but I want to share my opinion.

It would be fine if you reduce your sMerit sent out, 2 sMerit will be fine and it can generate 1 sMerit from the receiver.
@suchmoon was right, bookmark on it and back when you have refilled a sMerit again or send PM to another merit source to sent merit the thread that deserves to have merit.

I think it is good to create a thread just for merit sources discussion only and when someone post deserves to merit just ask other merit sources to merit a thread if this is useful if you think.

Also, @Jet Cash has a point. Probably you can't recover the debt merit that you ask. It will probably continue until there's nothing to refill because of the debt you have. It really needs to have an adjustment in spending sMerit and higher your standard.

Just my two sats.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How gambling destroy and build your life on: January 24, 2020, 05:41:37 AM
Before you're getting involved in gambling think first those consequences of the possible risk that might affect and also the outcome towards gambling activity. Each of us has a different perspective view on gambling, just for fun activity and others are chasing money on it which is a bad idea. So, in this case, we should have self-limitation just like,

1) -spend the amount of money that only you can afford.
2) -know when to stop after losing and avoid chasing losses.
3) -self-discipline

If you have these, you will be fine in gambling and dont blame gambling that may destroy or makes your life miserable. The problem is on you not on gambling. We should determine our attitude towards gambling and the perception of gambling.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lost my money through electrum withdraw on: January 23, 2020, 12:24:39 PM
I tried this before, it was synchronizing but when I set transaction there's a pop-up and say need to update to the latest version of electrum.
Once it is an outdated version of the electrum it won't work in any transactions...

If you think you need to have the latest version of Electrum to make things work, this is certainly not the case. Version 3.3.4 works as normal as last available 3.3.8, but it's always advisable to use the latest version because of all the improvements and fixes that have been made to previous versions.
I dont know if that is still working but this is what I had experienced before when I was paying shashan of my loan. I tell her/him about that matter and what is the reason for showing an error notification and I can't proceed with the sending process. He/she responded and say just try to update to a new version but make it sure I have the seed word phrase including the password.

Good thing I have screenshot left as a reference, this is notif popup on my wallet.

To cut a long story into short, I updated it into the new version ( 3.3.8 ) and the transaction was successfully done.
8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Alert: Stay away from this! on: January 23, 2020, 11:07:43 AM
I can say that only naive or greedy people will fall on this kind of trap. Remember that there's no easy way to get Bitcoin, airdrop? Probably not beyond 100 sats and maybe it requires a huge amount before you can withdraw. IMO, I did not interested in collecting bitcoin airdrop, they are wasting on time and probably led you to this scammy site.

Obviously the link shows unsafe, you can post like this so that this is not clickable to others.

This is a good warning to those newbies who probably did not know this and I think Beginners & Help is the appropriate board since there are too many newbies who visit there.
Just scroll down and find "move topic".
9  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to Protect Your Crypto Wallet if Someone Searches Your Phone? on: January 23, 2020, 10:52:21 AM
Dont know whether this fits in this thread or not. Try not to use mobile wallet, they have ease but have serious security concerns. I use standalone wallet for storing my coin. They dont have much ease but provides you much security. its upto you what you want to avail.
If you are trying to suggest a mobile wallet, just name it so that they will know what it is.
Speaking of mobile wallets, Coinomi and Electrum wallets are the best wallets when it becomes to the app but be careful about downloading the phishing sites.

Back to Op's topic, this has been suggested earlier replies that always activate your 2FA verification code in your mobile wallet and it should be placed on the separated mobile phone. That critical and valuable credentials should keep in a safe place. If there is someone confiscated they never know or even it is got hacked.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lost my money through electrum withdraw on: January 23, 2020, 09:05:46 AM
Are you sure that your electrum wallet is synchronized? Check if your wallet same like below,
If the wallet is not fully sync his wallet balance wont be fully updated.
I tried this before, it was synchronizing but when I set transaction there's a pop-up and say need to update to the latest version of electrum.
Once it is an outdated version of the electrum it won't work in any transactions and there's nothing wrong if you click update and make it sure it is the right site to download the latest version( Once you were misled on phishing site that the time you probably be hacked.

@OP, just follow the suggestion above and check your address as what AdolfinWolf suggested. I hope those replies above will help you and let us know here also if have an update.
11  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pilipinas Bitcointalk Org Shirt on: January 22, 2020, 05:49:05 AM
I'm also waiting about the progress on this project, magaganda kasi ang design na ipinapakita.

I hope they will update this thread sa mga nag organized and maybe they are quite busy now. Kahit na may quota kung sino may gusto mag order para mas maramihan mas makaka less tayo.

Regarding shipping fee kahit tayo na magbabayad okay na yun basta babawi nalang tayo sa quality design ng shirt.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any gambling site that allows betting directly from the wallet? on: January 21, 2020, 03:17:28 PM
I had heard that before, there is a gambling site that allows users to bet directly from their wallets. You need to import your bitcoin wallet but in most cases, they are decentralized gambling sites. Like poker and sports betting sites. Also, peer-to-peer gambling sites have on this kind of feature. The transactions of bet to be played directly between those players crypto wallet, rather than the house edge will hold the fund.

But I think this is not safe if you will use your main wallet, I have doubt that it will lead hack in trusting your private key into the gambling platform. IMO, use a disposable wallet for this.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Investing in Alts instead of Bitcoin for far greater returns (or losses) on: January 21, 2020, 02:54:04 PM
This is a very risky idea and you need to have spent more time in research which altcoin has the potential to pick. I dont believed in the line says, the more your risk the greater profit you will earn. For me, that is a wrong perception because you need first to know better the altcoin you are going to pick before holding in your portfolio.

Just kinda give a headache if you were just because of a wrong decision. Why not you just give prior to bitcoin and give a big percentage of the amount that you are holding. Remember those possible consequences may occur.
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are we going to have a profitable bounty hunting in 2020? on: January 21, 2020, 01:25:41 PM
Last year was not a profitable year for bounty hunters like us, but as we are embracing a new year, a new hope has live.

so do you believe that we will have a good bounty year? if yes, why?
I will not generalized this because I believed that there are some bounty projects that have a potential and might give a good profit from investors. This is the truth that most of those project is haven't useful to the ecosystem and sounds like they are imitating others, that why they don't develope very well. One of the most main factors is the price of the entire market, once it will continuously drop the price they will not hit into an exchange. Yes, you will receive the bounty token share but still, didn't have value.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You CANNOT trade successfully without RISK-MANAGEMENT on: January 21, 2020, 01:10:30 PM
This is very important in trading if there is a "risk management". People have different fundamentals and techniques in having risk management not only in crypto trading even in a business just like an investment. The most I like is the "Loss prevention technique", this is very useful when you are minimizing your loss, instead of avoiding a risk completely.

But I haven't try to use any software about risk management. But I found this online article with helpful content, The Top 10 Risk Management Software Solutions.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going beyond $14,000 before May, history repeating itself on: January 21, 2020, 12:35:26 PM
$14,000 before May would do very nicely but Im sceptical. I think well have to wait until post halving for this kind of price, maybe Q4 2020.
If we compare the previous price on the result after the next halving come (the first and second halving) they are all successfully rising up after the reward halving effectively happened. So, probably at that time (Q4 of this year) bitcoin price will raise up and repeat itself as what happens on those previous events.

But we can't predict this, theories and speculations were still going on and there is a negative and positive side discussion on it but the fact, no one knows. Let's wait on it and let the time will reveal the truth, at least we are ready and done accumulating.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Monday Is the Best Day to Buy Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2020, 11:44:46 AM
There are different theories of the best in buying Bitcoin, there are others say that usually the average bitcoin price lowest on Sunday but the nearest day also is Monday. Probably these days are the cheapest day but it depends on the market situations, you cant rely upon those theories. Even in monthly theories, others believed that bitcoin price will go up in the middle of the month because of high demand and it will down again on the last day end of the month.

Always remember this that always buy the dipping price and never sell, just hold bitcoin a valuable asset. IMO, any time is a perfect time to buy bitcoin as long as you can afford it.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social experiments in the world of gambling on: January 21, 2020, 09:46:19 AM
I have seen here before someone asking help because of massive losses and he wants to overcome those losses. As I remember that is a newbie account but no one will believe and all those replies saying that dont beg money in the forum and probably he is lying just want to earn a simple way of making money.

Those replies above were right, giving money is not the right solution. Once gambling addicts have money it will return to gambling again and again until the entire money will be lost. Good advice is necessary that temporarily leave gambling and find a decent job if they want to sustain their gambling habit.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best broker to change bitcoin to fiat on: January 21, 2020, 09:23:58 AM
i want to withdrawl my bitcoin to fiat via banktransfer please help me thx
This is very risky on your part and I suggest you use a peer-to-peer exchange. As much as possible dont use this payment processor "Paypal" in receiving your fiat because that might have a problem in the future because a transaction might be reversed, unless if you know who is your deal with and trusted enough. If you have time kindly check the signature that I wore, for more info. you can read the FAQ it here. (be advised that you should have further your own research, this is not financial advice)
