Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is trading sideways to ETH/LTC a good hedge?
|
on: November 29, 2017, 02:47:38 PM

Ive always thought of a portfolio of BTC and alts (small-Med cap) but i’m also seeing more volatility with more Pumps and corrections than I’m used to before, and that doesn’t help my sleep cycles
Do you guys think sideways trades to ETH/LTC do help mitigate those big pumps and dramatic corrections? Not considering expanding to further alts even if they’re within the top 10 cos it’s too much.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether to bitcoin?
|

I’ve been buying BTC/USD and ETH/USD
ETH to invest in projects and BTC to hold.
I’m realising that the BTC/ETH spread is getting quite wide so I should just buy BTC and trade ETH to get more value on the diverging ETH price
What I don’t know is.. Whether BTC/ETH trade prices on exchange will be much more costly And which exchange provides the best pair prices.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My Ether Wallet
|
on: October 16, 2017, 04:59:47 AM

Hi guys
Hope to get some help on this.
An old MEW wallet had suspicious activity. So I moved all the ETH into another MEW wallet I set up.
I still have some tokens in the old MEW wallet tho.
Can someone advise the steps to move those tokens to my new MEW?
One of the ICOs I reached out to mentioned importing my private keys to the new MEW?
Need some clarity here.
Thanks!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do majority/how should most ICOs price their sale? Peg to Fiat or ETH?
|
on: October 14, 2017, 03:30:25 PM
|
I know majority of ICOs are invested in via ETH.
However, I’ve seen some ICOs peg their tokens to fiat ie 1 token is $0.05 and min 0.5ETH for example. This means that if eth/usd is up they get more tokens and vice versa.
Others peg to eth so 0.5 ETH IS 1 token. So if ETH/USD ups, each token essentially becomes more “expensive”
So which is the more “accurate” way to value a token sale, and should it be a factor in which ICOs to get into?

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you track your portfolio?
|

Thanks guys!
I’ve been trying blockfolio for awhile to see how it works but that’s more like a portfolio value tracker. While I do want to know once in awhile if my assets are ok, it doesn’t allow me to set up different coin destinations so when I purchase an alt/ico, i’d have to treat it as a sale/trade.
I’ll check the others, thanks!

Economy / Trading Discussion / How do you track your portfolio?
|
on: October 03, 2017, 03:57:40 PM

Hi all,
as you're growing your portfolio, and start using different wallets and exchanges, and take part in ICOs, what are some ways you guys are tracking your portfolio across all these platforms?
I've BTC/ETH in CB, BTC in Bittrex, ETH in MEW, 4 different ICOs, and the list goes on...
seems like as this grows, it's increasingly hard to keep track, which wallet I used for ETH for an ICO, or which exchange I used to purchase alt coins etc.. I think it could get pretty confusing pretty quickly!
Any good ideas out there?
Thanks!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How do you decide which (BTC/ETH) to purchase altcoin/ICO?
|
on: October 02, 2017, 10:06:38 AM
|
First post!
Been studying the crypto subject a lot recently and getting a grasp on the matter.
From a strategic and holding position, how do you decide which to use for transactions?
E.g.If I use BTC whose price is rising, the altcoin is cheaper, but that removes the further growth in BTC. if I use the cheaper or dropping ETH, it becomes more ex relatively but I “cut” my losses from a devaluing asset.
How do you guys straegise in this area?
