141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum on: December 17, 2017, 10:38:26 AM
Well look at the reasons understand them then decide.
BITCOIN
Superior world wide brand recognition.
Used as exchange medium at tens of thousands of retail stores.
Has the most secure network.
Basically the grand dady of all other cryptocurrencies

ETHEREUM
ICO has the greatest impact on its price spike paired with USD.
Smart contract implementation.
Ethereum did not have its fair share of price spike. I think because after every ICO these companies liquidated their funds, and that caused eth price to be less volatile compared to BTC.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do we need more BTC forks? on: December 17, 2017, 10:14:55 AM
Depends on to whom you direct your question to. Bitcoin core simply upgrades and tweaks bitcoin sometimes with hard forks.
Other forks come from who ever decides to fork bitcoin it is not based on our need, but the people that decide to fork bitcoin, this is the beauty of decentralized and open source world.
Some forks will have its use cases, but most are done by greedy people willing to increase their stash.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins Under $1 on: December 17, 2017, 10:04:17 AM
First take a look at their market cap an max supply a coin simply does not 10x s its initial price, if you look at dogecoin and you predict that it would hit 1$ per coin, that makes its market cap in hundreds of billions which is insane.
This market as any onther market works on supply and demand. You have to make extensive reasearch about it, find an undervalued coin with a reasonable circulation supply then you could make 10x easily if you had it right.
Hint: always buy in the dip when the price is low.
144  Economy / Trading Discussion / Arbitrage Trading Techniques on: December 17, 2017, 03:18:43 AM
Hello everyone,

Any experienced trader out there can explain Arbitrage techniques? , I mean I know the basics of Buying low on an exchange an then transferring the funds selling high on another exchange. but most of the times you couldn't make the the trade successfully in the second exchange due to high amount of confirmations most of exchanges require.

another form of arbitrage I found interesting is having let us say BTC + Fiat on two different exchanges at the same time. in that case you can sell BTC for the high priced exchange then buy BTC back at the lower priced exchange. but the odds are not always according to your expectations.

thanks for reading through,

I have a few question about Airdrops:

How to make some money from airdrops?
Most new coins or tokens make airdrops at the beginning so best to look for new coins out there. Also join their community twitter discord telegram they are most likely announce it there first.

Quote
How much can you make from airdrops for a month?
How much you earn from airdrops depends solely on how frequent you claim airdrops and the actual coins value that is being airdropped.

And do you know some good websites for airdrops?
This is a great website that brings you the latest airdrops https://airdropalert.com/

147  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is ETHconnect legit? on: December 17, 2017, 01:23:22 AM
As you are asking about ETHconnect which is very similar to bitconnect, and loads of other Lending Platforms such as Hextracoin, RegalCoin Etc.....
Well they never end because the demand for lending platform is high, Due to them using MLM (multi level marketing) ie pyramid scheme and lack of general knowledge of newcomers to the crypto world.

These platforms are popular because most crypto youtubers promote them, the funny thing is they only brag about how much money they make off of their down-line which are the viewers who wish to earn such money.

Most of lending platforms has already exit scammed such as Gladiacoin, ControlFinance, Bitpetite and most recently Laser.online (which redirects you to bitconnect at the moment "Scam Confirmed!").

Don't take my word for it I mean I already did my research, and they are scams in my point of view. But I encourage you to research those platforms that I have mentioned above.

Well price wise per coin or token it already exists, go to coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/ click on price (descending order) and witness for yourself.

But market cap wise I think it will not happen at least for a very long time, since Bitcoin has superior brand name and most secure network it beats the market cap of all alt-coins combined.
149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do i buy Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2017, 10:32:15 PM
you can also use Gdax it is owned by coinbase but you would save alot $ in fees if you use it instead of coinbase.

But would I be able to only buy bitcoin, etherium and litecoin on Gdax or many more currencies? whats the difference between gdax and gemini? why people prefer one over another?

And these are just markets, am I right?

Yes only those 3 currencies are available on Gdax as of now. But Gemini Doesn't offer Litecoin.
here is a comprehensive review on these two exchanges https://coincentral.com/gdax-vs-gemini/

If you are willing to get into other alt-coins, buy Bitcoin, Ethereum or Litecoin in one of those exchanges, then transfer them into binance or bittrex, they offer hundreds of alt-coins.

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Regalcoin – X11 Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: December 16, 2017, 09:42:50 AM
despite almost every lending platform is a scam and ponzi. they have brought some attention to crypto world through hyip. BUT it is going to turn out badly once they exit scam.
