I did this. Ignored Bitcoin for over a year. Various configuration changes.

20 minutes to review the latest changes in Bitcoin. 20 minutes to set up and get the money in my wallet reconfirmed.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 06, 2012, 01:47:44 PM
@EskimoBob: Click below.  I'm accepting it.  It seems much more friendly to merchants than BTC.  BTC is treated like gold as if ever one is going to be a ghetto fabulous quazillionaire if they get just one coin.

Maybe litecoin will be fucked beyond all recognition from speculation 12 months from now but it seems to be starting off on the right foot.

Are you going to issue a fatwah against Miss Sparkles?  :-)
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: George Selgin discusses privatization of the money supply based on Bitcoin on: February 05, 2012, 04:03:12 PM
Isn't the problem that the money supply is an oligopoly/cartel of private central banks?

Basically, money is already privatized.  The important order business is breaking up the cartel and the monopolies that each cartel member holds in their respective countries.

5  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: How to get Loans from the IBB on: February 05, 2012, 03:44:33 PM
One of the Islamic Bank of Bitcoin's assets is a soon to be porn site.

That doesn't inspire legitimacy.  Have you talked to cheaperinbitcoins about this problem?  If they turned upside down, you probably should have bought the domain.

Got a sale in Litecoin. w00t! 15000 LTC.  I'll take it.

Litecoin is now offered officially as a payment option.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 04, 2012, 04:22:31 PM
BTC has been a bust so far in the last two years of offering it as a payment option.

Still believe in it.  I still believe cryptocurrency its future.

Now I'm offering payment in LTC.  The hope is that the more democratic accumulation of LTC means a chance of a viable economy.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can actually buy stuff with Bitcoin!? on: February 03, 2012, 05:57:42 PM
Yeah, this was to scratch an itch about going through the process of designing and manufacturing something.  And I am a currency trader. It started before the advent of bitcoin.  So, no BTC symbol.

I'm run a linux cloud server where I'm hosting a lot of paying clients so there is no cost in this little project.

It's already discounted for BTC.  Maybe I can also throw in five dice of the next production run with BTC on it.

200 sets to go.  It's not like that's a promise I can't keep.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can actually buy stuff with Bitcoin!? on: February 03, 2012, 04:58:12 PM
Sold hundreds of my wares with paypal.  Have yet to score a BTC sale.

I'm not a miner or a speculator.  I am a merchant.

Right now, offering bitcoin payment as an option seems to be a matter of belief in cryptocurrency.  That needs to change into offering bitcoin payment because that is where the money is.

10  Economy / Goods / Re: FX Currency Dice Set on: February 03, 2012, 04:07:46 PM
I'd buy this if there was a Bitcoin symbol on one of the sides.

Can you make a customer pair?

Can't make a custom pair because to do a production run requires a minimum of 5000 to be cost effective.

I would like to do one with a bitcoin symbol on it.  It would definitely be badass.

Unfortunately, to date, all my sales have been through paypal.  Not one for bitcoin.

It still gets a prominent position on my payment options because I believe in cryptocurrency.  I look forward to the day when I say I have bitcoin as a payment option because that is where the money is.

Chicken and egg.  What to do?

If I can finish off the inventory in bitcoin, that would definitely tell me to drop one of the symbols for the bitcoin edition.

Maybe I can put it up for a vote.  Would be amusing if everybody voted to drop the dollar symbol.  :-)

I thought about…  And I was approached about…  Raising BTC on the bitcoin exchange.  That would encourage me to go ahead with a new version in spite of existing stock.

Ideally, I want to move these out first.

Aside from the discount, how else can I encourage BTC purchases? I'm open to suggestions.

I would love to have some of those.

Well, these are definitely different.

I have new designs in the works.

I just have not decided on whether to do another production run or fold it up after this group.

My day job is trading currency.  Risky business.  Hence, currency dice.

You should buy a set.  Send me a PM with any objection that is holding you back from buying.  We'll see if we can work something out.
13  Economy / Goods / Re: FX Currency Dice Set on: February 03, 2012, 01:00:32 AM
Not anymore.  I'm at the tail end of this production run.

You have something in mind?
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin on eCommerce site? on: February 02, 2012, 07:20:16 PM
we won't freeze anyones account.  balances are not stored with us and are pushed to your bitcoin wallet or bank account regularly.  Let me know if you have any questions.

3% for using BTC?  That's outrageous.  No way I'm using them.

In a shameless effort to promote BTC use, People paying with bitcoin pay only $35.99 as opposed to $49.99.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin will visit the CIA on: June 23, 2011, 07:41:15 PM
Are we even talking about BTC anymore? What's going on here with this petty drivel? Check yourselves as the enemy engages. The boards are infiltrated. What point are you proving and to whom? Is it serving your own ego? Are you winning?

What have you won?

+1

Fighting on the Internet is like competing in the Special Olympics…  Win or lose, you're still retarded.
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: Namecoin Dying on: June 23, 2011, 12:17:04 AM
icann just announced that you will soon be able to register any top level domains. no longer any need to "mine" .bit

http://www.icann.org/

Isn't the whole point of namecoin that your ownership/control of the domain is cryptographically secure - as secure as the blockchain.

Therefore nobody can "steal" or "confiscate" your domain?

^^ winner!

Seriously.  That is the reason I want just one namecoin.

I sell nice dice.  Maybe somebody would like to trade?  One set for 48 NMC?

I haven't even thought about how to price it. Make me an offer.

I welcome suggestions.

Get rid of any Judeo Christian Islamic thinking or shame and find a woman for just sex.
You will pay for sex for the rest of your natural life one way or another.  At least with a prostitute, there's a final price tag.
And remember to pay in bitcoins!

In all seriousness, even if the quality of life sucks, try to find a niche that helps people, because if you improve the quality of life for other people, you yourself will have a better quality of life.

Since we really cannot win against the PTB, I'd rather see headlines like "bitcoin drives people to solicit prostitution" instead of "bitcoin drives people to suicide." :-)

Think of your fellow lunatics, Atlas.
