-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (MingW32)
Satoshi uses a GPG client for Windows? He uses Windows ? Must be some kind of joke. Maybe that portion of the key was altered. Can we check it ? Hey, it's used by 90% of desktop users, so, what's surprising about it? I always thought Windows is for idiots and Linux for geniuses like Satoshi. Never imagined someone like him would use a joke OS like M$ TBH ...

Sent you an e-mail about this too, but I'm wondering, is it OK to connect from 2 IPs? They are static...I just have boxes at both work and home. Want to make sure before I connect my second set of boxes.
Dood, this is not GPUMAX ! No IP restrictions as poster above says !

Maged can clearly see through IP logs that they are the same person ? Maybe the rules changed since March ? Or maybe Maged is the only non-admin who can see IP logs ? Or maybe I am going crazy ? If we have suspicions we ask theymos, he'll usually confirm/deny at least. We don't have access to IPs. Thank you for clarifications. One thing this forum needs is a little bit more transparency

I'll send the 4.5 BTC. Address? References would be nice too, but are not necessary.
Don't do that, seriously. I'd suggest you to take a look around this subforum before starting any actual lending. Unless he's a sockie of you, then carry on. What would be the point of that ? To build up false rep that could be used in future 'loans'. It's an old tactic over here. I'm surprised he needed to ask... It's obvious lol I knew about this technique but was unsure if this is the same like the "confidence" loan trick. Also, is there a thread that shows people with big balances ( like me ) looking to loan to others how to stay safe and what ID to ask for so as to not get scammed etc. ?

But... how will those third parties have access to certain information, like IP addresses? Isn't there potential for abuse in case you give those records to "external investigators" who ask for them? Or did I misunderstood what you meant?
Moderators don't have access to this stuff, either. So here we say "only admin has access to IP logs" BUT here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64012.msg776457#msg776457Powercoiner == Dexter

Also, what about setting up a scammer squad or scammer watch thread headed by me ( it takes one to know one ), martychubbs, psy, bitlane etc. Are you calling me a scammer, or am I misunderstanding it? Not calling anybody a scammer. I was talking about starting a thread in which smart people call out supposed scammers. I proposed the people : martychubbs called out A1BITCOINPOOL scammer psy is staff and can access IP logs and can smell a scammer from a mile away bitlane is internet detective and called out bitscalper etc.

Either you apply the tag to all guys or take it off me then. Apply the policy fairly to all forum users.
It is, there just isn't anyone willing to investigate. If they are scammers then they probably would have a tag by now if there were anyone working the cases. I don't know if you just can't read or don't believe it, but there are literally 0 people who are willing to do the scammer investigations Maged did, and Maged isn't doing them for now. You're gonna have a hard time finding someone to give away their time for free. If you really want to see them get a scammer tag, then feel free to compile all the evidence, I'm sure Maged will give you some tips. Or just sit here and whine about it I guess. OK. I understand. Just clarify this for me : from now on, nobody gets scammer tagged anymore ever ? No, people are still getting scammer tags. There's always clear cut cases which don't take much work, or people dumb enough to admit to what they did, etc. Cases that aren't so clear, like several of the ones you've mentioned will likely sit in the pile until a better solution comes along. Like I said, feel free to do it yourself if you think they need a tag. Anyway, back to ignoring this thread. Thank god for the new watchlist, I never have to see this thread again. I see ... How can I see the evidence in my case against me ? Also, what about setting up a scammer squad or scammer watch thread headed by me ( it takes one to know one ), martychubbs, psy, bitlane etc.

Same as why 21 million ... because the Japanese Satoshi said so. He is god ! Because we like to see our coins double in fiat value. Pyramid FTW ! Sorry but there is no explanation. It is just the way things are. Like the laws of physics. Why is gravity 9.8 ? Because God ( Satoshi ) said it will be Don't like the design create fork.

That is true, you do need some proof that you sent funds to the person you are accusing. Not as if wire transfers are the only way to do that but it is easier for the police to work with since it is something they deal with semi-regularly.
Definitely depends on the country, the US is very locale specific in how the police would deal with complaints. Where as some Asian countries have actually been vocal about the willingness to use police action over digital property crimes.
Exactly. Please show me an example where BTC has been stolen and somebody prosecuted for that. This would show BTC is legitimate or starting to be accepted by the "world". The guy accepted wire transfer then fails to deliver = no wonder he gets jail. Why has shakaru scammer not had any problems whatsoever ? Maybe he is such a good guy and everybody loved him ? Or maybe nobody can do a damn thing to BTC hackers / scammers unless BTC is legalised.
