glad it worked out for you, I prefer not to keep my rigs in a case, the cards stay cooler and I can see whats going on better
2  Other / Meta / Re: Is This Forum Degenerating? on: May 28, 2013, 02:00:43 AM
the whole forum structure lends itself to its own demise.  It encourages people who have absolutely nothing to say to spew random off the cuff nonsense.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [YAC] Is yac mining pointless ? on: May 28, 2013, 01:57:43 AM
I thought YAC was dead?

I think yacoin is pretty much dead..

Thank you very much for your contributions Tywill.

They were from the heart

5  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Everybody post pics of their mining rig on: May 27, 2013, 03:06:38 PM
OMFG, Dont place your Hard Drive circuit-board down onto something metal!

especially on the PSU
6  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 7950 crashes but only in 1X PCIE slot on: May 27, 2013, 03:04:44 PM
do you have a card in the first x16 slot? I had a similar issue when I used an x1 to x16 riser for cooling purposes. I put it in the first x1 slot on my MB and it kept crashing cgminer.  I got an x16 to x16 riser and added another card to the first x16 slot and everything worked great
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Just set up my little bitcoin mining kit - advice welcomed! on: May 27, 2013, 03:00:58 PM

- Dump GUIMiner and learn to love CGMiner directly
- Install either Sapphire Trix or MSI Afterburner
- Overclock your cards' GPUs to at least 1130MHz. Downclock memory to 600MHz to save energy and generate less heat

Should yield you a stable ~685MHs hashing on a 7970.

So far, this is the best advice on this thread. CGMiner is awesome. I'm getting these same numbers stable on my 7970 rig.

I second this
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MSI Radeon 7950 check on: May 27, 2013, 02:57:33 PM

$310, I have two and get about 510 K/Hs scrypt mining each
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: radeon 5970 wont mine on: May 27, 2013, 02:55:09 PM
Why not use cgminer?
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Orange sparks shooting out of rig on: May 27, 2013, 02:54:12 PM
If I have learned one thing while mining it is not to skimp when buying a PSU
11  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 5 AMD GPU's in windows possible? 1 LTC For whoever helps me solve this on: May 27, 2013, 02:52:38 PM
remove your xfire, use windows 8 and you might need to get a powered riser
12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: mining with a 5850 & 7950 in the same windows OS rig on: May 27, 2013, 02:49:33 PM
I dont like mixing cards, just personal preference to avoid these issues, I am pretty sold on 7970s
13  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Average Return on Investment Time on: May 27, 2013, 02:43:26 PM
I was shooting for 30 days but that pipe dream died a nasty death, 6 months seems about right
14  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Second 7970 Always Crashes AMD Driver on: May 27, 2013, 02:41:19 PM
I had a similar issues and after a lot of troubleshooting I decided that one of my cards was bad. RMA'd it with newegg and have had no issues with the new card
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTS: 2364 LKY coins on: May 27, 2013, 02:34:10 PM

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Is the Litecoin network being attacked ? on: May 27, 2013, 02:32:32 PM
I also want to know. I haven't found this info anywhere else, and my payments have been low the past week or so.

pretty sure the difficulty went up a couple times
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KlausMiner is scammer on: May 27, 2013, 02:30:58 PM  You should follow these instructions if you think you have been scammed
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [YAC] Is yac mining pointless ? on: May 27, 2013, 02:28:32 PM
GPU mining is already happening. mtrlt, who made reaper, has been mining it for a while, and it's easy to assume others are also. He has no immediate plans on releasing source because he can still make a decent amount with his cards.  Makes sense to me, and you can't really fault the guy for it when he's done the work himself.

I thought YAC was dead?
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you couldnt buy or sell BTC, what would you do with them? on: May 27, 2013, 02:22:25 PM
You know if its ever made illegal.

How would making it illegal to buy or sell bitcoins prevent it from happening?  That approach hasn't worked too well with buying or selling drugs.

There's no law in existence that has ever stopped anything Tongue  Bitcoin's gonna keep happening per usual, with law or without law; it's simply something outside of the government purview.

Exactly, look at prohibition
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: saudibull - blackmailing me! Be careful! on: May 27, 2013, 01:28:10 PM
Two things -

1. Note the trust rating .
2. the guy has "Saudi" in his name.

what did you expect?

pretty convincing
