Don't get the 4gb cards, they will become obsolete much faster. 8gb ones might be more expensive, but you will be able to mine effectively for much longer with these. |

First of all, I wouldn't take investment advice from random internet people. That being said, if the thought of losing that 5K doesn't make you feel suicidal, I'd say go for it, or like others suggest, wait for a BTC bull run to get ETH cheaper (then again, it shouldn't matter if you're looking for a long-term investment). ETH is a solid crypto and in my personal view there's still a lot of room for it to grow, both in terms of technology and value.

I don't think that will be the case in the forseeable future, PoS is not very popular yey and even if it gains traction there will be hundreds of alts that will work in the PoW system.
