1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Polyswarm - The first decentralized threat intelligence market. on: February 13, 2018, 01:17:40 PM
Dear Polyswarm - please can you let me know a little about the KYC that you will require for ICO investors? Is the min investment 1 ETH or $100 USD of ETH?
I like the idea of this - peer review of fixes and patches which you can push out to individuals or largely vendors of internet security for them to drop to their users sounds good. I understand that the peer review will also depend on the reviews undertaken by the peers - so not just anyone can turn up and start claiming patches are legitimate, they have to be confirmed as such by higher ranking peers. How will this be handled on day one when all users are new?

Ive been trying to install the windows wallet from the site and windows defender keeps blocking it as a severe trojan threat.
Im aware of the false/positives you may get. Never had this happen before with any of the wallets ive already got.
Is there another download link i can try for the wallet?

Hi Rh,

That the only download link is the one listed on our site, unfortunately that does occur with several wallets (and coins) not just our own. The only work around is to set it up as an exception in the windows defender.

Thanks for your time, ill take another look at the antivirus and see if i can do that.

Hi Rh78 - I had the same issue as my antivirus first wouldnt let me download the wallet, then wouldnt let me run the .exe and then wouldnt let the wallet talk to the rest of the world! Turns out I could get it all to work in the end I was able to exclude the folder in my C: from the antivirus checks so that all things to/from it now run (which will include adding Nodes when you get the wallet running as youll need them. More info on that in this thread but shout/PM if you need a hand with that).

I am a bit confused? When is the swap for those who invested in 3th phase? 10 or 20 January?

Hi there - Phase 3 folks need to make sure they have the latest wallet and that is what $CIF will send out the coins to for Phase 3. There are no Phase 3 coins going to the old wallets. Pay out for Phase 3 is 20/01.

For those with Phase 1, 2 or Airdrop coins then theyll be doing the swap on 10/01 AGW - theyre setting us a Discord tool to basically automate it.

Those on the Bounty Campaign need to check and ensure theyve updated with the latest wallets and sent that new wallet address to $CIF.

So in summary - if you dont have the old wallet no worries, just use the new one. If you have the old wallet then download the new one and if you have coins then follow the swap advice that should be with us tomorrow.

All the formal info is available on $CIF's Medium page here https://medium.com/@AdminCIF/cif-coin-swap-89b6e3b335ba

is anyone here with a working wallet? Mine is still sync and stuck at 25%. What do i need to do at this time after I tried using all addnodes in this thread and telegram group

got the same problem

wallet stuck at 25% even with adding the new nodes...

There's not much network activity at the moment.

Please type
Quote
getpeerinfo
in the debug console. We'll continuously add and update the .conf file.

Hi, my wallet is working well. I downloaded wallet from page, version v0.12.0.55-gc30a0aa592b4.
I added nodes from this talk and everything is OK. Maybe, you are in wrong chain...

Allcoinhodler

The blue and yellow wallets only run on the current/ up to date chain so it could be some nodes aren't active 24/7 365 or you have to enable permissions / ports in your firewall.

Also remember - to help our community grow a little bit faster type getpeerinfo in the debug window and paste the results here!

Getpeerinfo displays what my node is to add to the list?

Hi! Can't sync wallet. What's wrong?
https://yadi.sk/i/W5AR0J_W3RBmxB
I've added addnodes into cif.conf and also tryed to rescan by rebuild index triple, but unfortunally.

It may just take some time as today they are due to pay out the investment for those in Phase 3. Until this time there has been next to no activity as its a brand new Blockchain, so syncing is taking some time. Keep with it though and should starting picking up over the course of today and tomorrow.

Anyone know when they will be listed on the exchange and for how much?

It should hit the exchanges in a couple of weeks, before the end of the month I think. They are looking at a few different exchanges but I dont think any have been decided upon yet. As for the listing price I think we just have to wait and see, itll be dictated by the market and what its bought/sold for. Long term though I think its a winner!

Mac Wallet still being tested and should be done before long - keep an eye on the site for when that is complete. If you want to invest as a Mac user you can still do so simply enter N/A in the field when asked for your $CIF wallet address. As long as the email address you use is valid then $CIF team can communicate with you directly once the wallet for Mac is available and will send your $CIF there once the ICO is complete.

Please, someone could confirm if the Mac wallet is being tested yet or is already working.
I follow the instructions above to invest.

I have invested before the announcement of the new chain in ICO phase 3, will the CIF be send to my old wallet and then later swapped for new ones or will it instantly send to the new wallet?

And I have also some CIF in the old wallet, is it safe to download the new CIF wallet or is all my CIF gone due to that ?

As long as your email address is valid and you check it then you won't miss out - what I think is likely is that they'll ask those who already have $CIF or are expecting some to download the new wallet and send the address and they'll sort the rest out. They'll be announcing more on this in due course. I also have $CIF to transfer to the new wallet so awaiting those instructions - they'll be with us next week some time hopefully.

For now though you can download the new wallet (Windows and Linux, think Mac is still being tested) and have it open at the same time as the old wallet, no worries there. However DO NOT send $CIF from old wallet to new or they'll be lost!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] cryptoimprovementfund.io $CIF on: December 30, 2017, 08:46:06 AM
I have installed the new win wallet, can i just send my CIF from old wallet to the new wallet?

DONT - says if you do it, it will be unrecoverable.
Just read it a minute ago.

On the new Wallets...

Windows and Linux Wallets tested and ok - available for download and use for investing in the last 2 days of the ICO.

For anyone with $CIF in the now old wallets, hold on to that and DO NOT send from old Wallet to new or the coins will be irretrievably lost, $CIF are working on as near to an automated process for transferring as possible and will be done on a 1:1 basis. More info to follow here/on the website/twitter/Telegram.

This is a great partnership! Bitdegree is said to have some 29m users online already at the start of their ICO due to the tie ups they already have in place. This could be some amazing exposure and long term business and all before the end of the $CIF ICO! Really promising stuff for me as an investor. Great work and well done - I will be really keen to see more about the course material that $CIF will be offering as mentioned in the link.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] cryptoimprovementfund.io $CIF on: December 24, 2017, 12:23:36 PM

The wallet is looking very nice - it looks kind of sporty if that makes sense! I don't think I'll have the need for private transactions then again may be handy when I'm shifting some $CIF to make my millions! Private transactions do seem all the rage st the moment though so a good sting to add to the bow at $CIF. I can't wait to try to understand the tech behind how that works!
MasterNodes certainly look like something I want to get involved in (and benefit from those private transactions). Not everyone does MasterNodes - do you think they will be increasingly popular going forwards? Any risks of centralisation of MasterNodes on the same VPS farm or is that just a really stupid question?! Looking forward to hearing more about both of these, thanks for the info!

@coinwatchtv great article on $CIF @CIF_Team and @SimonCocking

CIF Adds CryptoCoin.News Chief Editor Simon Cocking as Advisor

Really building up an impressive stock of board members and advisors, and this guy has McAfee's ear! It will be really interesting to see where this goes in 2018. I think the announcements of people like Parnham and Cocking are great timing too, with the ICO nearing its end soon to go to exchange with $CIF these kinds of people and their pedigree will surely give the price a hefty bit of buoyancy.

Also Dev, any news on when the new Wallets may be available in the new year?

Ps staking is working well on the wallet I'm happy to report! Do you still need the output from the debug that you had mentioned some time ago?
15  Other / Meta / Re: Why do people post "Reserving (language) translation"? on: December 16, 2017, 05:50:10 PM
Seems like a ridiculous way to decide who translates it. Why don't they just pay to have it professionally translated by someone reliable?

Although our esteemed colleague above is correct I'm sure in many cases, I simplified (what little I know of) the process - from what I've seen applicants offer or are asked to show previous works and feedback, so it's not just using google translate, at least for any ICO who wants to be taken seriously (and they are few and far between!).
16  Other / Meta / Re: Why do people post "Reserving (language) translation"? on: December 16, 2017, 05:31:04 PM
It means they're reserving the bounty the ICO will pay out for the translation of their Whitepaper etc. Usually this is followed up by the bounty manager confirming their reservation and they crack on with the translation and get paid.

If it's any consolation, if Bitconnect pays out like it says it will you'll soon recoup the lost BTC, and if it's a Ponzi you might well lose the BTC thats made it there and have a bigger loss to worry about! Brave move!
Wow, you might be the perfect candidate to invest in a pyramid scheme like Bitconnect. They short the OP BTC0.66 and your response is, "at least you'll re-earn it in interest, maybe!" That's ridiculous! This OP is still going to be out the BTC0.66!

Sarcasm bro - the rest of the sentence should've made that clear but no harm done! Seriously anything which guarantees a daily return like that AND not provide any proof of this trading bot must be taken with a serious amount of caution (and comedy). Add to that the volumous amounts of evidence staking up against them and big trusted names like David Hay on YouTube calling them out says it all.

Did you happen to see any of their anniversary shin dig in the East? I think BoxMining did a bit about it on their channel, now that was comedy gold!
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Net Neutrality and Bitcoin on: December 15, 2017, 09:43:46 PM
What do people think the impact, if any, will be on net neutrality and Bitcoin and other crypto currencies?
Could this be a result of lobbying by people funded by the 'big banks'? Does this give 'big banks' the chance to squeeze the hose for Bitcoin and slow down all traffic? It could allow said 'big banks' to favour a particular Blockchain in the same way, just loosening the grip on the hose?
Or does the decentralised nature of the Blockchain mean it can withstand such attempts to throttle the bandwidth?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops question? :) on: December 15, 2017, 08:05:16 PM
Hello everyone!  Smiley

I have a few question about Airdrops:

How to make some money from airdrops?
How much can you make from airdrops for a month?
And do you know some good websites for airdrops?

1. Trade it. Will depend if the airdrop token have value.

2. Read no. 1. Also there is no such thing as fixed earnings a month for airdrop. It's not how it works.

3. Bitcoin Forum under Tokens (Altcoins).

I have joined some airdrops but not getting any token. I don't know when airdrops tokes are distributed. although I make mistake giving my Coinbase wallet instead of my ether wallet address that's why I didn't get token. But I want to know is it right to donate some airdrops?

Don't just joined but read and understand the content. Sometimes people will just joined even it's a shit airdrop. All updates are in their respective ANN thread which you can found here or (they will state it). If such cases that they don't have ANN thread and you just saw the airdrop link somewhere then just don't expect it as long as you are not give them your money and personal information.

To add to the above very good post - always do your own research in anything you invest in, be happy to never see the money again and with any luck you'll get more wins than losses. Some Airdrops will offer you perks for donations to the cause - many of these are great and you're doing a good service for the community as a whole by donating, but loads will take your donation and you'll never see a thing.

A newbie tripping hazard is thinking  you've not got the coins when actually you have! Most ICOs and Aidrops are on ERC20 so you can use most Ethereum Wallets to get the coins BUT you may need to add the Contract Address in order to see them in your Wallet. Think of it like a lens - the coins are there but you just can't see them until you apply that lens. Most good Airdrops and ICOs will list the Contract Address in the details but if not then take a look at your wallet on the Blockchain using etherscan.io and it will show all transactions in/out and their status. If it says the coin or token is there and confirmed then you can view the transaction details and copy and paste the Contract Address into your wallet and see the coins! Happy Hunting!

20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HELP] Sent Bitcoin from Coinbase to Bitconnect, Not Received on: December 15, 2017, 07:45:58 PM
Woah that's a hell of a lot of money to be putting in but good luck to you! If it's any consolation, if Bitconnect pays out like it says it will you'll soon recoup the lost BTC, and if it's a Ponzi you might well lose the BTC thats made it there and have a bigger loss to worry about! Brave move!

Now I'm not certain and no doubt a more learned person will see and confirm or otherwise, but I don't believe sending from the exchange to a service provider is the thing to do, you should send it to your personal BTC wallet first and then to the service provider, only keeping on the exchange wallet what you intend to trade or send to a wallet. I know this is the case with some ICOs that I have invested in so assume it's the same elsewhere.

Make sure you contact Coinbse too, they may have experience with this if it really is an issue sending from the exchange.
