Major institution and a gateway provider are not exactly the same thing, nor do they have to be... any payment provider that transfers fiat around the world can be one as long as it has KYC built in. the partnership just requires that the DEX is operational. maybe your question should be Where is the DEX? is it vapor? to which the simple reply would be its being tested and is coded, being bug tested and refined. 100 million sold at .00036 btc but at 16 cents us... 8 million held for team and bonuses, 0 inflation. 6 million bought back at the start of trading by the waves team. Atm 16 millions in Bittrex. 14 million approx held by dev team. 70 million held in personal wallets. |

The answer has been supplied by Sasha to that question a few times.
I know because I have asked the same question a few times.
Sasha always answered. I won't release that information until it is already in place.
From that answer there you can assume one of two things.
Either 1: for legal or ethical reasons Sasha is not divulging the payment providers identity.
Or 2: there is no such provider.
I for one trust that the gateway partnership is in place though it may not be as grandiose as some people imagine.
But I'm sure the range of opinion on this mystery is as varied as the amount of different partnerships that a gateway could take the form of.

You are right: Coinomat is not a grandiose solution. It is Sashas old, failed project. He could have made that a fiat gateway without taking 30000 btc from investors. But no. if ShlomoGoyimberg could articulate more nicely then I think we could more easily see that he is not dumb. he knows the stuff. I kinda agree that going to some very small events and talking to some random people doesn't really help that much. I like listening to his interviews but what is the point of 2 hour interviews with coremedia, which only those who bought waves listen anyway. he could spend his time more productively,his time is valued. Right now the promotion seems to be very limited to inhouse waves channels and article here and there, almost always written by someone from waves. I dont know why people are even getting excited about this tidex, it will probably have zero volume, the site is in testmode (or maybe it is connected with waves and they are building centralized exchange?). It'd be nice if some new project or ICO using waves would be announced, it has been 2 months since full node was released? I agree that tech they are bulding is great, progress is seen, vision is there and so on. It's just marketing and interest in waves is lacking.
Maybe waves team is waiting so they release dex and lpos etc and then they will really start worth promotion. I cant tell if this is good idea or not good idea really. I guess 10-30 btc per month would not be that much to spend on keeping waves in spotlight for the next 2 months.
In any case, waiting month or two is really not that long, we will see soon.

Depends on what kind of asets by that time will be traded on the Dex, will be available fiat gateways and many more. I think the initial stage it would be no more than one transaction per second. Can't TPS be manipulated by bots? Yes but it would coat them transaction fees which would be very good for the platform.... bots will be the main revenue creator for waves outside of business use age. Make a guess, under 1 is a very general answer, as at 1tps waves is surely already a major success story. There have probably been less than 4 crypto projects that have ever sustained those numbers for a prolonged periods of time.

Waves true value can be thought of as a return based on tps... we won't see it worth anything more than speculative value until we break minimum 1tps......
this is the reason it's only being marketed to businesses atm.
On this note I'm glad incent has decided to wait for waves based exchange and DEX before they list, as the trading of assets will amplify the tps of the CAT'S and therefore waves by a large order of magnitude.
And by this line of reasoning if there was going to be a time for waves whales to increase volume back to the 1000 btc of trading per day, waiting until those trades had the bonus effect of increasing tps would be the time to do it.

Guys the price is what it is.
I know that a lot of people in here make their money buying news and selling release, but on the whole that is a zero sum gain for crypto.
It's fairly obvious that the dev team is not playing that game with waves and is instead using their money to establish a platform while marketing to those that will build on the platform once it's ready.

Only advise I have, is that if you are a daytrader that is hoping to play the 300% SPREAD this is not the project for you...
there is money to be made with bots on the 10% spread or by going really long aka. Investing, but there will be no 1000% gains through pump and dumps.....
You guys should have seen this from the start (or at least by the time the ICO metrics were released). The money raised was just to large and to spread out for anyone to control a pump and dump.
I bought a lot at ico myself thinking it was a singular group with tons of btc, and hoping for a quick buck. Since then I've watched the waves team and seen their vision, and bought more because I agree with heir plan....
If your daytrading hoping to double up on your btc during some epic unreasonable bubble just sell, you won't find that here.

Altcoins that think they are too high and mighty for this forum sink and die. That's a fact. The coins that retreat to their walled slack gardens wither and die. Look at the market activity. 10 btc volume??? It is happening in front of your eyes. But everyone in the slack crew thinks thats just ok.
Maybe you think the tech is great and will take over the world. But if you guys can't deal effectively with getting out your message and being honest and responsive with people here - in this little sandbox - who the hell is going to believe you can do it in the world at large?

16 million usd was raised, and now it's worth 24 million dollars, that's a 50% increase in value over 3/4 of a year.....

1)Just counted 75 unique visitors to waves slack on 4 channel in the past 10 hours.... and that is just from those that posted discussion.... compare that to the 10 that have posted here, and that's only after I decided to actually start a conversation.

2) I realize now after my attempt at constructive conversation that bitcointalk could use more attention, and will do more to be a proactive investor by writing here.
But look at what happenned as soon as another waves dev showed up here. You same few people went into attack mode...
I have no ill will towards you, and I am not against anyone posting concerns about how waves is doing business.
That being said I feel that it is my right to disagree in open dialogue, and I'd you have any arguments with my opinion then please refute them.... remember though if you take that discussion to openly attack my character while being vehenement in your words without adding substantive worth to your point of view, then you are just trolling....

If one of the devs actually honestly and completely answered he same questions that investors ask here again and again - for example - what exactly has stopped the fiat gateways? - with real, factual details, including dates - maybe there would be some value added to this thread. You who accuse everyone else of "not adding value" perhaps would be supportive of this? And no bullshit about how "we can't talk about specifics" etc etc etc. That is the same vapor nothing-speak that is the sad mark of this "team". 1) that's over 70 that I counted who have posted a reply or a comment. Which would easily make hundreds of visitors. 2)These things have been talked about in slack.. I agree that it might be in the devs best interest to come to bitcointalk and relay these discussions, but it would be the same answer. Fiat gateways/asset transfer dex code is being rigorously tested in testnet right now.... until that is done it would be irresponsible to release it in the lite client... same went for full nodes, and asset creation which are both now released on the liteclient. Coinomat will supply the first bitcoin gateway once this is finished followed by the euro gateway. I believe this has been answered on multiple forums including the interviews with Sasha. Why don't you join the discussion during the interviews or at least watch them so that your questions are answered. All the interviews are documented and transcript ed if you don't have time to participate. Remember people called scorex coded full node vapor then asset creation vapor and both of them work great now.... after dex people will call gateways vapor and after gateways are released people will call lpos vapor.... once those are released people will complain about the DEX engine not being polished enough or the ipo creator to not be streamlined enough... but a year from now. There will probably nothing left to complain about. Either way I'm happy to watch and wait. I'm no whale and I'm in profit, so I can wait.... Feel free to call me a fan boy at this point, I'm just here to ride what I think is ghe project with the greatest potential over the long run.... I don't day trade and haven't for a year now... in my opinion bitcoin won the currency race.. all other crypto currencies will fail by 2020, it's the platforms that ease wealth transfer between bitcoin, fiat, and business that utilize blockchain tech that will be the future. |
