321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 280X or HD 7970 on: November 09, 2013, 09:48:58 PM
A used 7970 is going for around $200. You will get between 700-800 KHs mining ltc.  A new R9 280X is going cost you $300 or more for the same hash rate.  Cheaper to get the 7970.

Why is it so hard to do a deal? Open a escrow and send the BTC. If he wants shipping up front then send him the money thru Paypal.
323  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is heat all energy from mining? on: November 09, 2013, 04:04:34 PM
Winter time is the best time for mining. No heater on and you can smell money in the air. LOL. Summers are brutal. Got to monitor temps all the time on the gpu's. Moving fan's and trying to keep them cool. A lot of work but in the end it is worth it.
324  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miners should be sold with the warning on: November 09, 2013, 03:52:36 PM
You assume that BTC difficult will always rise. The rise is a result of it's increased fiat value.  If fiat value goes down to by 90% so that 1 BTC is worth $3 who will still mine? Some might. Most will stop or quit. So then difficulty drops and your mining gear will give you that BTC ROI. Your fiat ROI is in the toilet. Unless you have a crystal ball that can predict the future then anything is possible. Bet you the genesis block didn't predict this.
325  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: free electricity - In what should i invest at moment? on: November 09, 2013, 02:44:54 PM

Where are you located?

I am sucking down 20KW right now with 67 BFL 60GH singles and 1 Jupiter.

If you are close to me I can run everything at your place and pay you $1000 a month.

Are you in a warehouse?  I will need a dedicated 300 amp panel.  I can bring that over as well and all the wiring.  Let me know if you are interested.

67 BFL singles is a lot. How many power supplies are you running to provide juice to those babies?

Start a GPU farm with 50 7970s. Mine LTC. Good value now from LTC and you don't get the massive difficulty rise as such from BTC.  Setup 10 computers with 5 GPU each.  Your cost for this setup is about $8500. You can mine 30 LTC per day with this setup. Will get you $120 per day.  In 72 days you will have achieved ROI and then everything else is gravy. You can't see this with Asic mining gear.

Are you sure that what you are seeing is not a transfer of funds from the old phone to the new one? Does it create a new wallet address for transfer of the BTC?
328  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 1.2BTC/month just by posting! on: November 09, 2013, 02:24:07 PM
Hi,

I will give this a try. My current post count is 79. Thanks.
329  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 07, 2013, 12:53:22 AM
I was just on hashfast's website in the shop. What happened to  purchasing miners with mpp? I don't see that option anymore.
330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 07, 2013, 12:38:00 AM
The announcement is to hold off on the announcement. Tomorrow they will rinse and repeat. By the end of December they will announce they are delayed but not to worry because you still have MPP.

332  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I buy a 60 Gh/s Butterfly Labs Single on: November 04, 2013, 05:31:45 PM
Buy BTC you will never ROI on mining equipment. Even stuff coming out in January that is 2TH. With the rise in difficulty you will be lucky to get half the BTC you spent.
333  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Jalapeņo on: November 02, 2013, 03:20:35 PM
I got  my Jala a few weeks ago. I ordered in March 2013. I had tried of get a refund from BFL but I was unsuccessful. So when it came I was lukewarm about the unit. I could sell it on eBay and get my money back but decided what the hell and configured it running with a raspberry pi. I like it now and am happy I didn't sell it or get a refund. I know I will never roi but it's a nice unit. Compact and relatively quiet. I put my coffee mug on it in the morning and it keeps it warm for hours. Also because I guess BFL was being generous or didn't give a fuk, I received a nice surprise when I turned on the unit. They sent me a 8 GHs unit. I didn't pay for a upgrade and thought I was getting a 5GHs unit. It is hashing away at 7.8 GHs right now. So even thought BFL has screwed a lot of people with delays, I guess I am a happy BFL customer.
334  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: who's turning off their jalapeno? on: October 25, 2013, 09:30:00 PM
I got my Jalapeno and I know it will never ROI but I don't care. I got it setup with a Raspberry PI and I can monitor it thru Tightvnc. Great little machine. Hashing away at 7.8 Ghz. No problems with it at all. Temp is at 58C. Not bad. ROI is for fools who care about fiat. I like tech and couldn't care less about ROI.
335  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs - 60ghs - In Hand for sale on: October 23, 2013, 04:43:40 PM
So you are saying he should take a 4 BTC offer and thank his lucky stars for it? What about the person who buy's for 4 BTC will they every see a ROI with 40% difficulty rises? Why then even buy mining equipment? Why not trade your fiat to BTC and gamble on just-dice?
Everyone has their own reason why they mine or buy BTC.  For some it is just a hobby and they don't care about ROI. I am in that boat. I would mine and then sell the hardware in January. If I get screwed by someone on eBay or Craig's list I really don't care. I will  buy a new hashfast machine for the going rate and mine BTC. I don't play golf or exercise much. I don't have kids and I am a fat computer nerd who has nothing better to do with his off time and BTC. This is my hobby so I  don't care about ROI.
336  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I like BFL, DO YOU ??? on: October 23, 2013, 06:08:34 AM
"Guaranteed oversight by BFL. You too easily give them credit. Free GH is not a BFL customer satisfaction tactic. Some other poor mark who paid for 7 GH just got a 4.5 GH Jala"

I was just on the BLF forum and I guess got lucky.  Some guy paid for two 7 GH Jalapenos but got two 4.5 GH units. I will just thank the BTC gods that my Jala is working and hashing away.
337  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I like BFL, DO YOU ??? on: October 22, 2013, 10:49:50 PM
I got my Jalapeno yesterday. Fired it up today and guess what. It is hashing at at 7.8 GHs. I didn't pay for the upgrade. I thought I was getting a 5 GHs model but it looks like they just gave me a free upgrade. Nice. I know I won't ROI but still pretty cool of BFL. Thanks Josh and BFL for all of your hard work.
338  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs - 60ghs - In Hand for sale on: October 22, 2013, 01:46:43 PM
I would just mine with it. All you get here are low ball offers between 4-6 BTC. Mine till January and then sell on eBay.
339  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: KnCminer Saturn 250gh for sale on: October 22, 2013, 01:28:39 PM
Why so high is because a miner in hand is worth a lot more than something on a slow boat from China. Also a private transaction sold to someone in the EU then you also avoid VAT by declaring it as a used computer.  I know genesis block blah blah blah. Have you seen BTC prices? Currently $204 at MtGox.  You will get your 30 BTC back in 60 days. At that point if a BTC is worth $400 then you got yourself a nice ROI. All about risk versus potential reward.  The one thing genesis block can't predict and no one can is where BTC price will be in 60 days. You can only speculate.
