Minepeon will not update anything on the settings page - am stuck in Africa killing kittens

Chances are you can solve it with this:
http://minepeon.com/index.php/Troubleshooting#Set_permissions_after_git_pull
Thanks, will look into this tomorrow..
783  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: August 17, 2013, 11:29:38 AM
Note to Self : Do not do updates with 22 miners running. I believe this is the source of the problems I have had.

Disconnect miners, update, reboot, restart mining.

Seems sooo obvious now lol@me.

This might not be a problem with fewer miners.

Am gonna start again with this n mind tomorrow.  Grin
784  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: August 17, 2013, 11:04:11 AM
I'm still running the original minepeon 0.2.2 release and I just got the little LCD display.

Should I follow the tutorial (https://github.com/cardcomm/cgminerLCDStats/blob/master/MinePeon%20Install.md) now (including "sudo pacman -Syu" and all the other updates) or is the next minepeon release imminent and I should wait a day or two?

When I do the minepeon update as in the tutorial, will it keep all my settings (miner, changed passwords, wifi etc.)?
If you can wait I would. I just got my second PI as am impatient. So on my B unit I have just 1 miner and am still finding a few issues.

Minepeon will not update anything on the settings page - am stuck in Africa killing kittens

Am not sure what I did wrong but am gonna let it ride as i want to see if i still have my previous issue with the donate period. (new PI and SD Card)

The screen is up and running, looking good though.
785  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: .10 promotion from ASICMiner distribution by CanaryInTheMine on: August 17, 2013, 10:50:36 AM
I don't think Canary has done anything wrong, I was just asking if there was any word on more coupons. Give the man a break and stop bitching.
If this was directed towards me.. you may think Canary has done nothing wrong but I know he has done nothing wrong and trust him 100% as you can see by my giving him +2 trust under his name.

I was merely pointing out that I felt Friedcat / AM didn't handle  this coupon in a very fair way and also pointed out that while some that bought at the 1.99btc AND .99 levels are still waiting while others  that did buy at the 1.99btc level got coupons for the .10 depending on who you bought from because of the volume they had sold.
I think canary handled this very well (as always). Regarding AM i believe a combination of "lost in translation" and GB leaders jumping the gun has lead to the above. Having read some of the other threads it has been a shambles, and will probably get worse with another batch of coupons. They just didn't hold back and think it through.

786  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TechnoBit Eastern Europe, BG Klondike assembly/Платки имонтаж на Авалон чип on: August 17, 2013, 08:15:53 AM

Zefir -70 k chips
Sebastian - 50 k chips
bizwoo - 10 k chips
steeve  t13hydra - 10 k chips
marto 74  - 10 k chips
Combined Zefir,Sebastian , bizwoo, marto74, t13hydra - 20 k chips

I Would do it but, am too lazy    Grin

I would like a change to the pool details if possible, all I see is stratum+tc if this line could be expanded or could be adjusted in the script to be user defined
e.g. stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 then output = Eligius
This would be most helpful..
I love the work your putting into this.
I've now received my second PI so can play more once I have spare time. Have sort of been holding back for Neil to release the 0.2.3 though.
 Grin

Thanks for the positive comments Smiley

This issue has been "kind of" addressed in the latest version of the code. I'm attempting to do some "intelligent" truncating of the URL line by removing certain pieces I think are never useful for display. For example, I'm stripping out "stratum.", so with the new code you will probably see something like "mining.el". I'll change the code to also strip out "mining." which should fix the issue in your case.

Without knowing a lot of pool URLs, it's hard to know what to strip out. Any suggestions on URL segments to always remove? I think the current list is "stratum.", "www.", ".com", and now "mining.".

Ok your one step ahead of me as usual, your list does it for me. Many thanks

So much hatred on this thread.  I'm intrigued as to how many prepubescent teenagers got their hands on enough cash to warrant such dark comments.

I've seen more maturity on EA gaming forums and that says a lot.

Chillax kids.  It'll be done when it's done.  Wink

Did you read that ridiculous story that school kid from avalon posted as an excuse for failure of thousands of $$$'s of goods???

Why so much hate ??  Shocked
790  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I'm starting to get fucking pissed (BFL) on: August 16, 2013, 10:36:17 PM
Has anyone actually got a refund form a bank TX or BTC after they started shipping and took the no refunds route???

Just curious, Am sure your correct, they are outside the law by not honoring refunds, but getting refunded may take longer than getting product or bankruptcy (lets face it once the last order ships there business is toast).
791  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 13, 2013, 11:35:09 PM
That the group buy leaders are so silent regarding this whole deal, you have to ask yourself "what is up?" Even TH is not saying much. How many sample chips did the group buy leaders get?
I think the GB leaders just really do not know what to do ! What can they do ? About the same as us really, sit and pray for chips, its not like we can turn yufu upside and shake them out of him, although i can see some satisfaction in that..

Have you ordered the chips ?    I was looking on there site and it seems the chip sales have vanished.

Am interested all the same, however am waiting on bfl & avalon and its hard to go further with nothing in hand.
794  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Get a REFUND from Yifu for Avalon chips on: August 12, 2013, 01:02:00 PM
We don't need to lose 100% or 50%. They failed to deliver on time as promised. They need to refund everyone at this point to be brutally honest I highly doubt anyone is going to see chips on Friday this week. I doubt highly they will get them next week either. At this point they have failed to deliver. They need to simply refund anyone that wants a refund at this point and they should be boycotted till they do.

Boycotting will do nothing, they will still sell to the next fool as greed blinds, they need to be investigated for why they have been caught out being dishonest on several occasions.

Pre-mining, splitting up, receipt of goods end of June, purposeful delays, selling of stock to other parties, and other shady dealings.

There has been no reason at any point to deceive anyone on this forum. Real delays are understandable, but when you lie and then people connected to you post photographic proof confirming deceit, and when they are too stupid to clean their pre-mined machines of dust and of the preconfigured pool info, then something has to be done as this is not what you agreed to in any no bullshit terms and it's theft, be it of currency or of value of the return of your items promised by a specific date and sold to you as an investment. The law is very clear to you about this.

Pursuing this won't harm Bitcoin, it will clean it up. Turning a blind eye is what allowed Lehman's to abscond as long as it did and cause the largest financial crash in history!

795  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [REFUNDS PROCESSING] $49.99 | Ƀ0.48 - K1 Nanos - Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: August 12, 2013, 07:52:00 AM
@ Bicknellski

Question: Are you by any chance funding your refunds to your buyers by some sort of separate sales channel deal?

Like for example, do you have any associations with ASICMiner?

65nm Gen2 = 1.2 to 2.5 GH/s (per chip) AM hardware?
Refunds for the k1 are just coming from what people have already payed. They will be refunded 100% of what they originally payed. We also have no associations with ASICMiner.

A company selling miners that is doing the right thing and returning 100% due to not providing timely delivery.

If your a tenant I would ask your landlord to get a sparky to change that, water heaters use a lot of power to be on a plug (although alot are) and that look near the end of is day..
Slip the sparky $20 whilst he's there to put in a double.
798  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [REFUND PROCESSING] K1 Nanos - Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: August 12, 2013, 07:00:44 AM

Note we are close to having a USB Miner ready using a chip that currently produces 1.2 Gh/s in our prototypes. We are also going to auction off 20 units to the community when they have been fully tested on our website. Also we will likely produce these USB Miners as a DIY model that people can buy soon and then put their own chips on and start mining.

Really Interested in this... Would the kit include the chip? If not would be nice to know which chip to buy.. Wink
I know your keeping this close to your belt, just letting you no there's interest..

This is all such a shame after all the work that has been put in by yourself, Chris and others. Am gonna get my k16's done regardless just so something comes out of it even at a loss, but I only had a few anyway so its no big deal..

Regards

I think the deal with this stuff is that TerraHash and Avalon, etc. don't want to give people information, especially bad information because they fear that people are going to pull out and they don't want to be left hanging. So they don't update anyone with the bad news, they just play it off over and over again. "Don't tell them x, y, z, because that might scare people off, just tell them this... or nothing at all."

This is what happens when you try to sell something you do not have..

Am so over all this pre-order sh*T
