yes im sorry i had a question about the item but decided to research it instead, i was just curious how these were connected to bitcoin as ive seen a lot of posts about these but never knew what they were

Gotcha Smiley. Yea they are from the 2018 Allen Ginter card series which featured the first 'official' cryptocurrency card, card #83. Thus the Allen & Ginter cards, in general, are fairly popular around here as many of us bought several boxes and cases worth on a hunt for the rarest of the rare  Cheesy

Current high bid:  .0065 BTC

Ends tomorrow!
6  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FOR SALE] PSA Graded Allen Ginter Cards (Full Size Black & Silver) on: July 01, 2020, 03:18:25 AM
Alright, got them up on ebay.  If anyone prefers to pay in BTC, that's my preference, anyway, so let me know and I will pull the listings.

You can find them here.  i've also listed up a few stamps, some of 5-digit greens, regular 6-digit greens, and a 6 digit blue.

7  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FOR SALE] PSA Graded Allen Ginter Cards (Full Size Black & Silver) on: July 01, 2020, 02:24:51 AM
what is the difference between the graded 8, 9 and 10 cards?

Same card, just a different PSA grading.  Cards come in different grades, 10 being the absolute highest for PSA.  A 9 may have a slight corner scratch, or an off center image, etc.  They have different policies for grading.  Essentially, 10 means absolute gem mint, the card can't be better.  9 is near mint.

+1 huge price differences.  83 card full-size ginter x psa 10 400 bucks.   Psa 9 less than 100

PSA 9 less than $100?  Can't find many sales on it so hard for me to say.

Adjusted my price slightly accordingly, but I won't go that low unfortunately.

My PSA 10 is fairly priced I think Smiley

You should auction it on ebay and let us know. They seem to do better there anyhow IMO

Yeah, guess I'll do that.  Thanks owl

In the meantime if someone has interest let me know.

9  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [EBAY AUCTION] The Times, October 31st 2008 Newspaper & Jan 3 2019 10 year on: June 30, 2020, 09:32:03 PM
what have oct 31, 2008 papers gone for in the past?

I have NEVER heard of this item as a bitcoin collectible.  I'm guessing this will confuse some newbie into thinking it's highly sought after like the 01/03/09 Times.

Just thought it would be interesting to have a 'The Times" released on the same date that the original whitepaper was released, that's all.  Still a neat piece of history if you coincide that date with other artifacts.  But that's just my personal opinion.

I even have a Dallas Cowboys newspaper article from January 3rd, 2009.  Simply because that's the date The Times had the article.  No relevance, and it's not for sale.  But personally I like collecting things based on this.

I don't think there's any confusion to be made.  The pictures show clearly it is not The Times from January 3rd, 2009

If anyone needs something specific, please let me know.  I'm going to go through a massive box of my cards in the coming weeks.

Oh, i remember now that you (and i) bought quite a few boxes early on.  you have unopened ones still?  Nice!

Yeah we loaded up haha

Naw, mine are all opened.  But they're scattered all around and need to be organized and catalogued.  I recall one of the boxes I opened was all silvers.  Not sure if those have any value.  And then I have some auto cards, maybe 20-30 of them.

Had a glowly crypto mini PSA 10 but sold it to someone here on the forum (who probably prefers to remain anonymous, so I'lll keep it that way unless they want to mention it)

The Times newspaper, dated the original date of the Bitcoin whitepaper, October 31st, 2008.  While there's no mention of Bitcoin in the article, I still found it to be a neat collectible for Bitcoin lovers.  I have one and am auctioning the other on Ebay.  Includes box and certificate of authenticity

Starts at $.99, no reserve

https://www.ebay.com/itm/264780302634

Also have a 10-year anniversary paper of The Times.  a bit crinkled, please see the pics:

All prices are plus shipping, to be determined (based on domestic or international, if you're buying multiples, etc.)

I also have two gold border / parallel A&G Crypto cards (not pictured), not graded, but they are in excellent condition.  I'd personally say they'd be 9's or 10's, but I'm not a skilled grader. Happy to send pics with any requests, open to offers on those.

Will update this page as they sell.

Best,

Frank

Edit:

Up on ebay now.  Happy to pull it and accept BTC (preferred)

Just wanted to point out the original retail was a bit higher as seen here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2114864

Price was 0.2BTC on 24/08/2017 which is about $867 Cheesy

Good luck with your auction.... a nice piece indeed!!!
