Bitcoin Lightning Payments Now Supported on Shopify

Quote
The Lightning Network was born out of the need for fast, seamless transactions that won’t clog up the main-chain of Bitcoin. With the OpenNode plug-in, Bitcoin Lightning payments help to take the industry one step closer towards mainstream adoption.

Thanks to the integration of OpenNode, the Shopify e-commerce platform now features a Bitcoin mainnet and Lightning Network plug-in for its more than 500,000 merchants. While on-chain payments on Shopify have been possible for some time through BitPay, the new plug-in brings quicker and cheaper transactions to the platform.

Also did anyone here see the banter between Warne and Prior it was funny, and if England wins it I’m expecting Prior to once again target Warne and Lyon.

Lol yeah enjoyed it very much.

Yes. Steve Smith will be part of the playing XI for the 4th test. You can check this:

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/18659/scorecard/1169534/derbyshire-vs-australians-tour-match-australia-in-eng-2019

He is currently part of the playing XI in the warm up match against Derbyshire. So in all probability,

Not commenting on if he's playing or not in the next test match. but here i noticed their professionalism and dedication when it comes to Test Cricket. in between breaks they are playing warm-up match. can't say the same for any other Test playing nation.

4th Test is 4th - 8th September so still a while for players to recover from that epic 3rd Test. AUS can guarantee that they keep the Ashes if they win so ENG are going to have to be really up for it again.

Welcome Bro

Aussie going to retain The Ashes because chances are Joel Wilson not going to play for England this time Tongue. England need to keep up their game and not relaying on Ben Stokes alone. More importantly Joe Root need to play Captain's inning in next game, this dude has every capability to become a Great but his conversion rate of 100s sucks really bad.

Australian umpire Ross Emerson. Is this what you are talking about? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8z_9fI3q2M

No, Radio talk.

Also the hassle they gave Muthia Muralidharan about his bowling action was also corruption.

It was nightmare for Murli, in field players were literally cursing him " Black Cunt" and few spectators joined as well in this shit when they walked out. i don't remember who was the Umpire but i remember watching interviews of some Australian legends and according to them Umpire's call was purely inspired with his own prejudice.

The margin would have changed or even the result.

Okay i agree, minus 100 runs. 50 from Rohit and 50 from Raina. India won by 9 runs happy now bro
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 28, 2019, 02:42:43 PM
Not sure about India but in the World cup it was fairly clear that most of the time the wrong decisions were favoring England.
Sometimes, it also goes in favor of India. You might have remembered the 2015 world cup match between Bangladesh and India, Mahmudullah hit the ball which was taken in the boundary, unfortunately, the player who caught has touched the boundary line but he was given out.
Rohit got out but umpire called "No ball" which was not a no-ball at all.
That's how India win that match  Cheesy

I already mentioned that Cheesy and yeah it was very close match Tongue, Bangladesh lost by little margin, Just 109 runs  Grin

But if we go into details then it was not only one factor of losing match. Umesh Yadav and Shami deserves more credit when they wrapped up Bangladesh Top order result Ban lost the match and didn't even crossed the 200.

And if you really want to dig some Spicy content then look at India vs Australia 2008 series. Umpiring was pure Gold for both sides Cheesy

Isn't it the series in Australia? India then refused to play the next test or something if they do not change the umpires and they had to change them. This was an embarrassment for World cricket.

Yeah, It was ugly series for many reasons.

1. Literally shit umpiring, ( recent Ben stokes controversy is cute)
2. Players refused to walk out even edging the ball in slips against spinners.
3. Countless amount of Sledging on personal level, followed by Famous Monkey Gate Saga ( its actually very funny story Cheesy ) then Ban on Harbhajan.
4. Indian Captain refused to shake hands with the umpires which triggered OZ's tabloid
5. Then in the end Threat of leaving series.

And I am not sure why such luck happens only for teams such as England or India. I have never seen smaller teams such as West Indies or New Zealand having such luck. IMO, the reason is simple. The umpires don't want to go against the home crowd and they award the decisions to major teams even when they are unsure about it.

Not much with India TBH, it was another way around till 2009-10 (Home-away both). There are countless incidents of bad umpiring. Start with Steve Bucknor- Sachin's dismissals. If it was not for Bucknor, then Sachin could have been made at least 5-10 more centuries or match-winning knocks in World cricket.

I can remember a handful of decision ( One actually) in recent time, which helped India and arguably changed the Game scenario to some extent. 2015 world cup quarter-final against the Bangladesh where Rohit Sharma saved by no-ball and he scored 130ish runs, but it's not even a good example because it turns out to be a one-sided match at the end where Bangladesh lost by 109 runs.

And if you really want to dig some Spicy content then look at India vs Australia 2008 series. Umpiring was pure Gold for both sides Cheesy

The last thing I read was to give the youngsters a chance to prove themselves. It was hard to digest but if that is true then seems like it worked however bowler like Starc is very effective to wrap up the tail of an inning.

^ Not sure if it's about giving youngsters a chance. Starc and Siddle almost belong to the Same batch, and Hazlewood also used to play under Micheal Clark's captaincy, so he's not young gun anymore. James Pattinson played less cricket, but he also debut in test cricket around 2011-2012.

About umpiring: I think it's time for an experimental call.

How about getting rid of human umpires and fully replace them with technology LOL. I know it sounds odd/crazy/unbelievable/shocking but if human umpire keeps giving bad decisions and ruin matches after matches then what's the point to have one!

RIP Cricket then  Grin
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 27, 2019, 05:23:04 PM
Yeah, I also thunk that chances for Starc is very low. A bowler like Starc may never imagined that he will have difficult time even when he is in good form however the positive note here is that Australian bowling unit is at it's best with some very promising top class bowlers.

True, but I still failed to understand why he was kept out from the Playing XI from the start. Tried to look into details but couldn't find any satisfactory answer.

Luck + Poor Umpiring + Fumbles from opposition here and there  Lips sealed
I almost forgot about the umpiring. These days umpires are making too many mistakes. ICC really needs to do something about it.

ICC elite umpiring panel turning out to be a joke these days, I understand that there is always a chance of Human error in Umpiring but what Joel Wilson did in the last moments, ( LBW) was a sitter! one doesn't need to be elite umpire to figure that out. Call it pressure, bias, or error. But it was a shitty decision indeed.

One question is getting around in my head - Will we see Starc in any of the matches in this Ashes?

Its a biggie Cheesy Australian bowlers didn't perform poorly in the last game per se. They only failed to get 10th wicket which cost the match, so I think Starc likely to sit out for next game too.

~Snip~
In sports, luck plays a big role and I think this year we are seeing luck is favoring too much for England and it's Stokes always playing monster innings. So, if luck combined with Stokes miraculous innings continue then may be we will see England is going to regain the Ashes or the job is too hard.

Switzerland’s first crypto banks receive licences

Quote
The Swiss financial regulator has awarded banking and securities dealer licences to two new “crypto banks”. SEBA and Sygnum have been cleared to operate in the new world of tokenised digital securities, a major milestone for the fledging industry.

At the same time, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) issued rules on how to apply anti-money laundering regulations to the banks   “where the inherent anonymity of blockchain technology presents increased risks”.

Still so many overs to go but if someone can stick with N. Dickwella then I think draw is pretty easy for SI in this match.

Like Windies batsmen, Srilankan batsmen had some other plans as well Cheesy Inning and 65 runs defeat for them, now i feel that they were lucky to win first game and sharing 120 points with Kiwis.

This look strange IMO, In Competitive Series like Ashes Aus and Eng getting less points for each win and India got 60 points very easily against the Windies and chances are they are going to get 60 more points in the next match.

@onrise Agreed, but i do have some reservation regarding Man of the Match, it should go to any bowler (Ishant : 8 wickets and 19 useful runs as a tailender) not Batsman because it was easy wicket to bat on.

Ben bloody Stokes
Welcome back V8

So you were keeping an eye on The Ashes   Roll Eyes

The game was ripper quite tbh, no one in their right mind expected England to win the game after a humiliating collapse in the first inning. But Stokes single-handedly won the game for England. Some Aussie still crying over LBW decision.  Grin
