3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Brc-20 by Domo on: March 25, 2023, 11:17:26 PM
Here is a partial excerpt from Brc-20s, by Domo, that are currently being deployed and being
minted, using Ordinals. I would like to hear your opinions on this experiment, and if possible,
discuss how you think this could be improved.

I know many people that have been in the Bitcoin
Community for some time, disagree with Ordinals, and think it is a waste. And I'm not here to
debate that. I do think that Bitcoin Ordinals have rendered Ethereum NFT volume, to very low levels.

BRC-20s: An Experiment by Domo
https://archive.is/97bbe

Experiment to see if ordinal theory can facilitate fungibility on bitcoin
•Create a brc-20 with the deploy function
•Mint an amount of brc-20's with the mint function
•Transfer an amount of brc-20's with the transfer function.
brc-20 balance state can be found by aggregating all of these function's activity together.

Front end
A very rudimentary front end for tracking balances has been created below.

Some notes:
•The front end should not be trusted, it's intention is only as a illustration of whats possible
•It will not track balances if you do not follow the formatting and instructions exactly (including fee matching). Even if you do it will likely be wrong for transfers.
•A front end that has access to taproot / ordinal indexed data is required for perfect state balancing

###How to
####Getting a balance

You can either deploy your own or mint from existing deployments bitcoin punks style
1.(Optional: Only do if you want to create your own brc-20. If not go to step 2) Inscribe the deploy function to you ordinal compatible wallet with the desired brc-20 parameters set

2.Inscribe the mint function to your ordinal compatible wallet. Make sure the ticker matches either a) the brc-20 you deployed in step 1, or b) any brc-20 that has yet to reach its fully diluted supply. Also if the brc-20 has a mint limit, make sure not to surpass this.Careful if using inscription service. Some tools mint to themselves first then send (thus the minter keeps the balance)

####Transferring a balance
1.Inscribe the transfer function to your ordinal compatible wallet. Make sure sending amount does not exceed your current balance. Careful if using inscription service. Some tools mint to themselves first then send (thus the minter keeps the balance)

2.Once received, send the inscription to the desired destination

Notes
•Each transfer inscription can only be used once
•The first deployment of a ticker is the only one that has claim to the ticker.
•In the event of two balance changing events happening within the same block the one with the higher fee is prioritized
•Minting transfer inscription to yourself first is necessary to avoid others spending your balance
•For public brc-20 mints the bitcoin punks / .sats names 'first is first' approach is adopted
•The "to" and "fee" fields in the transfer function are not required, but were necessary for the testing front end to track
•The mint function and the second step of the transfer function are the only events that cause changes in balances

6  Other / Meta / Re: Creating tools to populate /ANNS/ with current projects on: June 14, 2022, 07:05:45 AM
Please name 5 new relevant Bitcoin codebase projects. Newer, at least.

Smiley
There are no restrictions in place where someone couldn't create an announcement thread or update an existing one informing the altcoins community about the launch of a new project or important changes made to any existing network. There is no reason to introduce new tools. Most Bitcoiners don't care for Ethereum updates and those who do can find anything they need in different ways.
7  Other / Meta / Creating tools to populate /ANNS/ with current projects on: June 12, 2022, 05:04:38 AM
Ethereum codebase projects stopped using BitcoinTalk
/ANNS/, and opt for stealth launches and Medium launch announcements.

Could Bitcointalk create a tool to find projects that launch as close to their launch, as possible, and post it somewhere in the forum?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Epic Cash on: June 10, 2022, 06:54:12 PM
Epic Cash is around $1 right now. And it hit $6+ maybe 6 months ago.

When the network mining activity increases substantially, the price increases, occur.

And, another positive is that it is only on two exchanges, Bitmart and Vite Dex.

I know that some people might write this coin off. But if you're a smart trader with some experience, you'll know that small fortunes can be made in projects like this.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / New DAO on: March 27, 2021, 09:32:57 AM
Hi,

I'm thinking of starting a new DAO & we need members.

We will be brand new so we need people that are capable

of contributing time and are skilled, or knowledgeable.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why new projects/ coins do not have ANN on bitcointalk ? on: March 23, 2021, 09:20:15 AM
I noticed this also, starting with YFI.
And I think there's one major reason a
BitcointalkANN is not the standard anymore.
It's because 98 percent of new projects are
on Ethereum. And most of those devs are
Ethereum maxis, so you can't force them to
write a Bitcointalk ANN.

I do not see it as a fair launch for a few reasons.
Twitter and medium are algo based news feeds.
What one person sees on their home page is not
what another person sees. And Medium is a
paywalled site, which makes no sense for Ethereum
projects, because they promote decentralization.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Realistic 3x - 5x on: November 26, 2019, 06:05:01 AM
No feedback?

Synthetix SNX, did more than a 2x, in 10 days.

Yeah, 0.000094 btc to a 10 day high of 0.00022 btc.
That is a 2.4x

I'm definitely not here to brag, because I know there are so many more skilled individuals, than I, in this space. But each time I've posted good information in Speculation just to help others, and it does play out, nobody says anything. When I'm wrong or someone thinks I'm wrong, they're quick to speak on it.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Realistic 3x - 5x on: November 22, 2019, 12:18:25 PM
SNX or KMD have a better chance of 2x or 3x, than Ethereum does. Because it's already number 2. Is the #2 coin likely to double in market cap, or a coin like SNX that is #38 and up 25x, from early this year til now?

For me SNX, because it has room to grow. It is not a simple
project, and it has a very good lead dev. Go look up his experience, it's credible.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Realistic 3x - 5x on: November 16, 2019, 03:11:13 AM
I also want 3 of the coins you had mention and thinking that I would give any outmost credit and add some investment to them before another all-time high explodes, And right now I am preparing to not give priority but a little value to these coins, because I am giving number 1 priority to Bitcoin only,

Adding Monero (XMR) to the list of I think can achieve tremendous heights regarding this coming halving or all-time high.

Why not add Blur Network instead?
Much easier for a 1000 sat coin to 3x-5x, than a 0.0072 btc coin, right? Especially when it's an XMR fork w/KMD dPOW.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Realistic 3x - 5x on: November 14, 2019, 03:43:45 AM

To be honest, I'm very happy that this post
was able to bring together as many experienced
BCT users, as it did.

If you disagreed with my post, no problem.
If you agreed with it, that's cool, too.

I dont find that being combative & argumentative,
in a negative way, benefits anyone. So maybe we
will get some more good opinions, and maybe even
learn about some new projects.

Appreciate everyone giving their two cents.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Realistic 3x - 5x on: November 13, 2019, 06:41:34 PM
And, like I mentioned in my initial post, I've
recommended good projects in the past.

I'm a Bitcointalk community member and I
try to post something useful, every once in
a while.

If you think its bs, that's fine.
I hope everyone has a good week.
And mention any good projects that you
might know of.

You could call ANYCOIN then wait 6 months and "call the rise" Tongue   you remind me of those self proclaimed crypto gurus on twitter Tongue
just got into crypto 2 years a go or less now he's a guru Cheesy haha  buy anything low, and wait. easy as that
Your picks are solid tho, except you dont seem to understand DCR hehe,(i get it, it launched well b4 your time) its that price for a reason and wont be moving much Wink

Lol, yeah right.
I've been in crypto for over 5 years.
Decred chart looks good & they've been building.

I am not trying to convince anybody to buy these coins.
I often look through speculation, and I think most of the advice is poor. I am simply trying to offer others direction. Some guys might be new or might not be very good at analyzing projects, but it's all done in good faith.

Let's talk about some realistic 3x-5x coins.

Literally almost any coin can rise 3x-5x temporally if the altseason comes, (and it seems like we are nearly there). I still wouldn't recommend to invest in a direct scam in the hopes of the exit pump. But without slacking any specific coin, it's been proved in the past that fundamentals doesn't matter then the investors start to flow in. Trick is to know which ones will last through the test of time and which ones are actually needed in the end.

From your list, i am a fan of Komodo though.
[/quote

Agreed.

But I don't think you place enough weight on a 3x-5x.

Is a 0.0032 btc, or $20 BNB, going to 3x-5x easily?
No. It's not that easy.
Aside from one on that list, they are all below one dollar.
None of these are scams.

The main dev, on discord named Ryxor#0749, has not
responded since September 25---

'''Sorry for the quietness many users choose to message the team instead of posting here. We had some issues with the TradeOgre listing and got scammed - Crex24 is in discussions and @Hawkz_ is working on updates and additions for Ultex."

---Ryxor#0749

There is one other team member in discord, Hawkz#3154.

I believe this is a scam.
I have posted for 2 weeks in the discord, with no response.
