I think even a relatively nominal fee to register a new thread would be enough. 1 btc is pretty darned hefty in anyone's book. I think alts in general are a monumental waste of time but there are still plenty of miners and traders who glean some joy from them.

Problem being is most of it is a circle jerk of fake accounts.
One guy admitted in ALT Main he had created over 60 accounts to post on his coin(s) ANN topics.
Problem is many of you out there really are that stupid, naive and gullible.

And hefty ?
Says a coin CLONER hahhaha
You have sympathy for them huh ?

I say fuck 'em  ..charge 'em 2 Bitcoin then !

Judging from the number of scam-sympathizers voting "no" there will be no shortage of people willing to finance them.

I'm here because I don't believe in all the silly Jeebus nonsense and instead like living life like it is Christmas every day.
783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Roger Ver lost his fuckin' mind? on: December 25, 2015, 04:50:29 PM
As far as scammers go one could say birds of a feather flock together.

Roger Ver certainly has a more negative impact on the community than Marshall as far as I'm concerned.

Dude is a sell-out for his corporate buddies and seemingly insists on squandering whatever is left of his Bitcoin fortune on failed platforms and projects promoting more scams.

Roger Ver is a tool. I still laugh at the time he had a days long public meltdown on here and reddit over a $50 mistake that was made by his company or whatever. I need to find the link to that again.  Cheesy
784  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Win 0.01 BTC free I M ADMIN on: December 25, 2015, 04:37:30 PM
This all looks like some ellaborate post to have people click your referral link to be 100% honest.. You should likely reconsider posting stuff that has referral links as its primary interest as the moderators are likely to remove your post.. Which in turn fucks the people who put faith in your little contest... I dunno I'd be wary of this offering personally.

Says the guy who has negative feedback for spam posting reflinks.  Roll Eyes
785  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] Petition To Delete The ANN Section on: December 24, 2015, 09:04:31 PM
I voted for no. If ANN section gets deleted, where will be the place for better altcoins like Litecoin, Dash and Dogecoin? Their popularity will die very quickly!

Good.

Anyone who wants to post a coin ANN topic for now on has to pay theymos 1 Bitcoin.

That is really is a good idea. Why not make it 2 bitcoins or more? Sure would cut down on the cloners/scammers. Something that should have been done a couple years ago.

I do hope word of this idea reaches theymos and he, in turn, thinks it is a good thing. I'd rather have this than new forum software.
787  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: December 24, 2015, 08:12:25 PM
I heard a site called Xotika.tv where many new cam shows are being hosted recently. You all can have fun there. Smiley
But for porns, I don't think anybody will ever pay for it as anyone can get it for free now and all of them are in HD qualities. Wink

It's a different market. You get personalized services and not just generic pr0n.

Also, I like xotika.tv. It is fun to interact with the girls and spend a few bits. They also have a very decent (and fair) sig campaign going on last I heard.

It's a fucking wix site LOL.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lingham, Perklin, Pouliot named to Bitcoin Foundation Board / Mission Statement on: December 24, 2015, 06:58:59 PM
The Bitcoin Foundation's name is too tainted in my opinion and will never get much community support. They way Oliver was axed was the final straw for many I would guess. I like what you are trying Bruce, but you would be better off forming something new. How many people would be willing to donate to the current foundation after all the history it has?

Agreed. I wouldn't waste a single satoshi to buy water if one of the members was on fire. Pretty much all "The Bitcoin Foundation" is good for is kissing political ass and making the community at large look like thieves, liars, and preschoolers.

No thanks.

The Bitcoin Foundation belongs to everyone in Bitcoin it's as much yours as it is mine or any other member or the boards.

If this is true, return my donation from ~2 years ago. I'll call it a wash. /s

Even though I would not mind if the whole altcoin section was deleted, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

That is actually a fantastic idea, it certainly would make it more difficult for scam hawkers to push their wares. If exchanges require a listing fee, why not the ANN section.
It does make quite a lot of sense and there would be less scam/trash coins.

I admit I got caught up in the whole thing, mainly out of curiousity to see if there would be any good features in any of them. As I mentioned in a post yesterday in another thread, I have grown disillusioned with them all - all I see is useless gimmicks and a game to see who can make the most clever scam.

I'm turning over a new leaf in 2016. No more supporting the shitcoin communities. (Does nt apply to NMC which I still see as useful.)

Ok how about this idea ?
Anyone who wants to post a coin ANN topic for now on has to pay theymos 1 Bitcoin.

And my own section ? How fancy !
i would make everyone wears top hats and monocles to enter Wink

792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and Clean Up Has Begun- Join the Revolution- Re-open on: December 24, 2015, 02:34:43 PM
Does anyone have a list of shitcoin devs? There was one kicking about last year sometimes but I lost the link to it.
793  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: hello i need bitcoin news in my web site on: December 23, 2015, 11:22:23 PM
If you can code you can grap a rss feed and use magpie rss parser.
Else use ths site to generate an rss display widget:
http://feed.mikle.com/support/creating-an-rss-feed-display-widget/

Just google your favourite news site with rss. For example.

coindesk rss

Just wanted to mention that this also works with bitcointalk threads, so if you want to post news to a thread and have it show up on your site, etc.

Can someone quote this post please for future reference, Thank you

quoted. Please ensure this is an address you can sign messages from, as I have noticed a few people using exchange addresses lately.

Try this little news widget, you can change the size to fit your needs:

Code:
<iframe src="http://bits.aihosting.com/" width="650" height="550" frameborder="0" align="center"></iframe>

There may be some better ones out there. I like that one because it is mobile friendly if I am out and about. Also includes a little price ticker in the corner.

That in itself will not produce money, but it can attract people that will click ads or such.  Maybe use a plugin on Wordpess like content magnet or such for the same effect.

Of course it won't. One must use their imagination on how to make it work. Wink

797  Other / Meta / Re: MY ACCOUNT stolen PEOPLE on: December 23, 2015, 02:51:26 PM
The point of staking your bitcoin address is so you can prove ownership of an account by signing a message. It must be a wallet that you control or (god forbid) a blockchain wallet. Exchange wallets don't allow you to control your private keys or your bitcoins.

Sadly, there is no recourse for you but to make a new account, start over, and stake an address using a proper bitcoin wallet.
798  Other / Meta / Re: Need resolution before I go to law enforcement concerning this forum. on: December 23, 2015, 01:32:36 PM
Nobody is posturing Xian, I'm attempting to speak reasoning into whoever is in charge of taking down posts before outside help steps in. I don't want to. But have to if it's not taken down.
And xian even google sais to try and reason with the website moderator or owner before making a dmca report. I'm serously trying ot do all I can and not being a bad guy at the same time.

THose who know me know my heart isn't bad or I'm not capable of scamming or outright hurting others. I am legit following every path before seeking outside help.

Whether you are legit or not isn't for me to decide, but after reading this nonsense over the past few days all you are accomplishing at this point is making yourself look like a whiny petulant child. Since you are such a Google guru, search "Gavin Andresen". Maybe you two can have a whiners convention together.

Seriously, this is a single forum. Google doesn't care. I'm sure someone has posted the information you are so concerned about to a tor site like cloudnine or something. Will your SEO-fu help you get that taken down too?

It's just not how the internet works unfortunately. :-/
799  Other / Meta / Re: New spamming bot(different post style, and yeah had to make this thread) on: December 23, 2015, 01:12:05 PM
It is annoying, and I try to help mexxer-2 report them since I am on here a lot more lately. I kind of wish there was still email verification required for new accounts which would curb some of it perhaps. I almost miss the post restrictions that newbies had when I first came here. :/
800  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Secured Bitcoins on: December 23, 2015, 01:06:54 PM
If you are exchanging altcoin the answer is simple. Do not trade with people, trade at an exchange. It is a much faster and efficient way of trading as well as eliminating the risk of being scammed.

Have you seen the amount of exchanges that have exit scammed over the past few years? This is faulty logic. otc and p2p trades work just fine when you use your head for something other than to weigh your body down.

Escrow is cheap and/or free here. Over time I have built up some good contacts that I feel completely comfortable trading with.
