On the positive side, the new "franchising" plan indicates FriedCat believes AM can keep their market share over the next 12 months, AND can produce extra hashpower to sell. This is very good news.

This wider distribution of AM's hashing power reduces some of the risk and stresses associated with running one centralized hashing farm..

On the downside, we are currently down at 18TH/s. That really sucks! Sure its temporary  Wink

I agree will be interesting to see how the Franchising Plan will affect revenues as well.
Mining Selling Blades/Sticks and Later Franchising Revenue
I do not understand the leasing - unless we get close to 50% of total hashrate, no reason for it.

Friedcat believes he can hit over 50% of the hashrate or somewhere around that range given enough time but does not want to scare bitcoiners with a 50% ownership of the network by franchising the units to other people ASIC would be able to maintain more than 50% of the network without directly controlling it. Solving the network issue without needing to wait for the network to grow to handle increased mining.

(Note that is an opinion Smiley )

But it is very Bullish news
I like that he has a plan should we get close to 50%, but still currently at 20%.  I hope he hold off franchising until he ASICMINER at least at 40% - assuming that even ever occurs.

Provably Fair

After I receive your bet I will pull out camtasia recorder and video me generating a random number on random.org.  I will then make a payout video and upload all the rolls together to youtube once a week.

This really needs to be addressed.  If you say you're going to upload the videos once a week you really need to stick to that.  Anything else is suspicious.
Stop being paranoid - this is possibly fair.  Nothing to worry about.

Probably fair
I think "Probably" is a strong word - I prefer Possibly Fair for Insanity Dice
864  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: July 23, 2013, 11:16:08 PM
Well, the plan about renting the hashrate has quite wide consequences...
Considering that AM doesn't want to go over 10-20% of the network, in this way they can actually continue to build miners and by renting them effectively have more power on the network than by selling their equipment.

Yes, for sure. It is a creative way to lift that 51% glass ceiling.
They still make money from the miners, but they aren't in direct control of the miners so a 51% threat can't occur.

This way he could technically "rent out" more than 51% to external customers.

Essentially he figured out a way to unleash the extra hash power he has been holding back as soon as it can be rented out wihout waiting for the rest of the network to balance his hashing power to a non-threatening level.

This is very positive for shareholders and future profits.

Surprised we aren't seeing increased volume after this news
Expectations were already high and this only met them, did not exceed them.  The problem with always beating expectations consistently, is when you just meet them, it is a disappointment.  Same problem Apple has.  I would call it a high quality problem to have.
865  Economy / Auctions / Re: [SELL] Advertise on Just-Dice.com on: July 23, 2013, 10:57:44 PM
I said "only 1 BTC" not meaning it isn't much, but that it isn't much relative to the 500k BTC turnover of the site.

Wait, you made 500k BTC from Just-Dice? o_O

Ha, no.  The site is still running at a loss.  Over 500k BTC wagered.  Total profit: minus 136 BTC...
The difference is even 1 BTC per week, that is pure profit and purely to your pocket for the sites upkeep. 1 BTC not so bad when you have made almost nothing from commission so far due to variance

You set your desired odds and then your bet amount and then it shows the result and the winning number. So pretty much, yes.
I checked it out - it is really more of a raffle or lottery setup and slow pace (compared to dice).  I don't think it belongs in this poll.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie on: July 23, 2013, 09:59:35 PM
The problem is when emotions get in the way of common sense. This silliness that the dev can do no wrong is very reminiscent of SolidCoin during its initial...

I'm not sure about other members in eMunie forum (which you like to call "ass kissing" people), but I sure was the first one to question the legitimacy of eMunie system.
http://forum.emunie.com/threads/emunie-hoarding.11/

And surely I did not have to kiss anyone's ass to get a founder status, I simply signed up and got it within a day without asking. If you believe it's all about kissing asses, then keep thinking so, I don't care what you think of me Wink

According to the public forum the founders have yet to be decided. I stopped reading there regularly weeks ago after I got tired of Ecoinomist's thinly veiled 'I am a founder in the making and only those who make amazing contributions like me maybe deemed worthy of becoming one' posts on a daily basis. Well done Ecoinomist with what in my opinion looks like a shitty Internet Explorer logo ripoff.

I hear you want free lunch, good on you, go get some XPM with my guide, why bother with EMU? No one makes you!
PS. I stopped making posts for a week now because of work, don't quite get where your "daily basis" is coming from.

I'm sure I could become a founder myself if I beta tested more and kissed ass in the chatbox every night but some negative experiences there have put me off the community and I am pursuing my own projects now.
You mention negative experiences, but fail to mention specifically what is negative, so until you clarify that I shall assume it's just another trolling attempt.
You guys really should just stop posting here.  You come off as a bunch of jackasses and if this is the PR you are doing for this eMunie project, it would be better served with your silence.
869  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANN] [BTC-TC] [TAT.MINIGAME] Ministry of Games passthrough, Bitcoin Game Dev on: July 23, 2013, 04:24:00 AM
I would smash my toes with a ball-peen hammer, but some quick medical research shows it would hurt badly.

Any references to back up the "scammer" accusation?

No need for sources on the asshole, insane, and arrogant?  Grin

Check user "MPOE-PR"'s post history
I have to agree - this guy is a huge f*cking tool.  TAT, this corporation of his is a scam and why would you want to help enrich this asshole at the expense of nieve shareholders. Don't just throw your name on everything.  I know the IPO market has been weak but that is no reason to help funnel funds to this sociopath.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie on: July 23, 2013, 02:06:21 AM
My favorite part about this entire discussion, is that some feel that they actually have legitimate excuses >.>

If you only knew a bit of the developers behind eMunie, you would have a little faith Wink
Regardless, I forget, but do we win something if we 'convince' naysayers? All I have been rewarded with from beating the naysayers is pride in knowing that they cannot do any better lol.
Yes, you wil adoption and support from the cryptocurrency community.  But hey, you can go trade your emunie coins among the 30 people on your forum and see what traction you get with that.

Is peerbet a dice game?
872  Economy / Auctions / Re: [SELL] Advertise on Just-Dice.com on: July 22, 2013, 02:24:51 PM
are there any content restrictions on what you will/will not advertise or can it be anything?
Considering it mostly gamblers there, I would wonder the usefulness of putting anything not gambling related there.

That goes both ways.  It's pointless to advertise non-gambling services, since all the audience is gamblers, but I don't really want to advertise the competition (ie. gambling services)...

I guess the audience is all into Bitcoin, so any non-gambling BTC service would be ideal.

I'm wondering if it's even worth selling ad space.  If the auction only brings in 1 BTC per week, maybe it's not worth it.
Charity starts at home and Dooglas still has not made any profits to even pay his server costs yet.  1 BTC per week will help with that.

"only 1 BTC per week"  ONLY? ._. , you might profit a lot more off your casino, but that's quite a lot.

Maybe you can donate the ad profits. Some people will pay more if it's going to a charity or something

fine for me atm
874  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Bitcoin Dice Game on: July 22, 2013, 08:51:31 AM
Is it provably fair?
Yes, it is! You can check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=120497.0 for further discussion.
I added it.  What is the house edge and max profit per bet?
House edge is 1.9%. Max payout per bet is 25 BTC (See http://bitbattle.me/bets/).
That a tough sell when 3 of the games above have a house edge of 1% (primedice, Just-Dice and coinroll.it)

I think as the service gets more popular, the value of the space will increase also.  I think as long as you avoid any similar games (mainly bitcoin dice games), displaying other bitcoin gambling games is fine and those advertisers likely to pay the most for the banner space.  I know I checked out bitbet and even used the site for a couple wagers since I saw it on J-D.  However, that a totally different type of gambling that playing dice.  It slow motion while dice is ultra fast.

Max profit up to 310.88.  Chance for someone to win more in a single bet than the previous record: https://just-dice.com/roll/23563297 <-- 303 BTC won

It's been quite a month for this site. I can't seem to keep from having it up all day.
It went up 7k BTC the total invested in 1 day.  I saw celeste on in chat earlier, if I had to guess, he deposited the lionshare of the new amount.

879  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC resale value on: July 21, 2013, 09:17:46 PM
THis is why I do not understand why ASICMiner sells for so much.  All their inventory once replaced by newer ASICs becomes nearly worthless.  And the dividend is fairly small.

Their dividend is amazing!. Point me to one stock out there that consistently has >20% yearly returns from their dividends.

ASICMiner reinvests half of their profits in more mining hardware. They will never fall behind.
That requires two assumptions:
1. The fiat/Yuan ratio will remain stable
2. That noone else will come out with more efficient ASIC chips

Also, ASICMiner cannot be compared to a stock listed in fiat on a regulated exchange.  This is in bitcoin to an anonymous person "friedcat" eithe OTC or on an anonymous exchange.  The risk is much higher with no recourse if cheated.
880  Economy / Auctions / Re: [SELL] Advertise on Just-Dice.com on: July 21, 2013, 07:56:58 PM
Doog, I do not think anyone realized you were running the auction this week.  You should post a new 24 hour auction every week to get the best price.  Traffic only going up and it the right type of traffic, gamblers
