1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [*] 8BIT [Dark Masternodes][Anon][Roadmap Stage 4] on: January 05, 2018, 04:46:44 PM
I finally got my masternode UP Grin How do I can check if is working fine? Any advice?

You can try:

cli masternode outputs

It should show not-empty TX outputs

If wallet is not synced, you may need to wait till it fully synced, and the restart the wallet to see proper output from this command.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [*] 8BIT [Dark Masternodes][Anon][Roadmap Stage 4] on: January 04, 2018, 06:07:57 PM
I was able to compile wallet using these instructions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028119.msg25225323#msg25225323
Then I got masternode working by adding following lines to init.cpp:

Code:
        } else {
            return InitError(_("You must specify a masternodeprivkey in the configuration. Please see documentation for help."));
        }
        // ------------------------- start -------------
        std::string err;
        masternodeConfig.read(err);
        if (!err.empty())
            LogPrintf("error while parsing masternode.conf Error: %s \n", err);
        // -------------------------- end -------------
    }

    fEnableDarksend = GetBoolArg("-enabledarksend", false);
Without these lines it doesn't read masterned.conf, therefore it will not be able to find stake coins.
Not sure how everybody else's wallets are working without this fix. Mystery....

When new wallet is going to be ready? Old wallet seems to scare people off. Is it even worth fixing?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH Bitcoincash is available in COINBASE ! on: December 20, 2017, 05:41:30 AM
I hope this will push core devs to raise block size limit too, and maybe accelerate LN devs as well. Bitcoin clearly cannot fulfill the demand alone.
And after a while both BCH and BTC will face scaling issue again...
Interesting times. So interesting to watch how it all unfolds...
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [*] 8BIT [Dark Masternodes][Anon][Roadmap Stage 4] on: December 16, 2017, 05:27:06 PM
I have 4 masternodes running, but when I issue "masternode count" command, each of them shows different number:
213
230
242
280

Also, my masternodes sometimes are not in the each other lists.

Is there any reliable way to determine if masternode is actually on the network, and will be participating in the payout?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [*] 8BIT [Dark Masternodes][Anon][Roadmap Stage 4] on: December 15, 2017, 01:22:29 AM
I tried to build masternode, took sources from here: https://github.com/8bit-dev/8bit
But in order to get it running I had to actually edit sources and call dead code that is responsible for reading masternode.conf.
Is it supposed to be like that, or I am missing something?

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / 50%/50% script driven by block hash parity - x1.9 multiplier - Bitcoin Cash only on: December 07, 2017, 04:05:10 AM
How it works

1. Script monitors all blocks and searches for transactions to predefined "odd" and "even" addresses.

2. If
- transaction is sent to an "odd" address, and is included into the block with odd hash (hash ending with 1,3,5,7,9,b,d,f), or
- transaction is sent to an "even" address, and is included into the block with even hash (ending with 0,2,4,6,8,a,c,e),
the script will multiply amount by x1.9 and send it back to sender.

3. Minimum amount is 0.0003 BCH (30,000 satoshis), maximum amount is 0.1 BCH (10,000,000 satoshis). Transactions below minimum will be considered as donation. Transactions above maximum will be processed up to a maximum, and excessive amount will be returned.

How to play and verify

Send some amount to one of the addresses below:
  • Odd address: 1odd6AkhxemktuVQWbqwewUTJhUBHnsPa
  • Even address: 1evendEgyb2cPrnzKfaY57PoDodD8XaUX

Wait for 1 confirmation

Check if transaction is included in block with odd hash, or even.

If condition #2 is met, the payback transaction with multiplied amount should be already pending in your wallet.

Notes

Please make sure you are sending from your own wallet, that you have keys from, and don't send it from the exchange. Otherwise the payback payment will be received by the exchange, not you.

You may want to check that there is a sufficient balance on "bank" address 1bankdTiMW47T955ykfQJ1TYPY4Nu8zKW, which is used for payouts. In case if there is not enough funds, the script will just return all the amounts to the original senders.
12  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coin price varies on different Exchange? on: December 05, 2017, 09:56:23 PM
Price differences are normal. They usually reflect fees on deposit/withdrawals as well. So if you try to buy on one exchange, and sell on another, you should also add withdrawal/deposit fees on both exchanges. Once you do that, you usually see that fees will cover all price differences.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of bitcoin increase forever? on: December 05, 2017, 09:23:37 PM
If everybody would convert some part of their assets into bitcoins, which is entirely possible in the long term, the total demand on 21 theoretical max bitcoin supply could reach 10 trlns, which would make price of bitcoin at around $500k.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin not so anonymous? on: December 05, 2017, 09:20:01 PM
Bitcoin is pseudoanonymous. Anyone can track how coins are being transferred between addresses, but it's extremely hard to figure out what exactly happened, as wallets tend to generate new address on every transaction. But if the government can get exit addresses at the exchanges, they can establish connections with these addresses much more easily.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 2 altcoins to invest in NOW. on: December 05, 2017, 09:09:42 PM
I am still waiting for perfect altcoin, that
1) doesn't wait for to block to be mined in order to confirm tx, and therefore has truly instant transactions
2) has some sustainable retention policy, instead of keeping things in ever growing blockchain forever
3) with incentives to nodes, not just miners
4) with privacy similar to Monero
5) with functionality similar to ETH, but with ability to fix bugs in that functionality
Once it is out there, I will buy it.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your house for investment in btc. on: December 05, 2017, 08:51:18 PM
Just imagine selling your $259,900 house for 43BTC and 2 Months in street.

and after just 2 months sell 43BTC for $498198.

Again buying the previous also you will be in profit of $472298.

would you try this technique.

If I had 5+ homes I would try this for sure. But if I have only one house, that would be too risky. Don't invest more than you can afford to loose.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan Switches Tact, Backs Bitcoin as New Gold on: December 05, 2017, 08:26:39 PM
This going back and forth doesn't add much trust to them. I will believe when I see that they are actually adapting to changes that this technology brings, instead of denying it. Internet already reshaped many industries, and whoever did not adapt went out of business. Now it's their turn.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Why bitcoin indeed "looks" like a Ponzi scheme on: December 05, 2017, 08:13:22 PM
TL;DR : I really do hope that amazon will one day start to accept bitcoin  Grin

You are right that bitcoin adoption is it's early stages. But due to the fact that it is so revolutionary and so much better than we currently have, I think adoption is just a question of time. The same happened about 20 years ago with the internet: as adoption increased to every household it created whole bunch of industries (lycos, altavista, yahoo, dotcoms, myspace, google, facebook, apple, android, online movies, online trading, work online, online everything), that all use internet as a base. That's why bitcoin is not just a ponzi scheme, but rather inevitable future.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Already lost 50% of my capital on: December 05, 2017, 07:48:48 PM
Hello guys. I just want to ask for your opinion or an advice.
I started trading since May 2017. I calculated all my loss, I already lost 50% of my capital  Sad. Some coins are still in hold.
I just want to ask what can you give to me an advice or any learnings  about trading. I'm using bittrex.
Did you use any particular strategy, or relied on gut feelings?
From my experience if you strictly follow some strategy (preferably using trading robots), you most likely break even. Finding winning strategy is complex task by itself, because it involves analyzing data, modelling, and testing, which needs to be proved on large sets of data.
Gut feeling strategy us usually the best way to loose money.
From other point of view, why not just stop trading altogether, hold bitcoin, and enjoy daily 5% gains?
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good idea to short here. on: December 05, 2017, 07:37:50 PM
There will be multiple short-time corrections for sure, bitcoin has done it many times. But for the long term we are due to revolutionary changes in the financial industries, that bitcoin brings to the world. And during that time bitcoin price can only rise.
