SilentArmy V3 became a full mining app, it's not just a solver anymore.
For the moment linux only.

https://github.com/mbevand/silentarmy

Interesting, I might go ahead and give this a try. After all, the weekend is coming up Wink
Thanks for the tip Doktor83

I have another tip for you :
https://github.com/nicehash/nheqminer/releases

Do you perhaps have any experience how this nheqminer compares to the zcashminer used for this pool? I used an older version previously, but I believe I lost half a day of hashing due to another pool being hardcoded in the software.

483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WINGS - Where DAO Unicorns Are Born on: November 04, 2016, 11:01:25 AM
What's the current state of affair with WINGS? I know it's been spammed over the forums for months now, is it in motion yet? Seems to have been in ICO phase for quite some time lmao.

The ICO hasn't launched yet, but in two weeks, the 18th of November, it is planned to start. The team is waiting for some final legislation work for being a company registered in Switzerland. Once complete, the ICO is good to go.

Signature bounty for november??

Not sure, but keep your signature just in case. The team has been generous in terms of Eggs so far, so maybe they will prolong the campaign until the ICO is over?

I have asked this question several times that which one is more valuable egg or token but have not been given definite answers, I guess the team coy the egg for marketing purpose and are undecided on the actual definition they are going to give Eggs.

The collected Eggs will allow you to receive Wing tokens as a part of the bounty program. Eggs themselves will be pretty much worthless, but may allow you to swap them for Wing tokens later on.
..............
It is very simple.  1.5 Million WINGS are set aside for EGGS, so if only 1 person sends his EGGS in he will have the whole allocation of 1.5 Million.

If 100 people send 100 eggs each, then 15,000 WINGS each.

Those that clear it up?

https://blog.wings.ai/get-ready-wings-dao-details-revealed-d8baaa33a33#.mlmtcbhqi

1.5 million Wing tokens are reserved for the bounty program. Your final share of the tokens will be calculated once all bounties (Eggs) have been paid out and those users claim their share of Wing tokens.

You can try http://coinsforall.io/distr/zcashclient-0.2.4.zip - connection lost handling rewrited in this version.

Thanks eXtremal, seems to be working just fine on my Win7 box. Appreciate your efforts!
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: zcash wallet on: November 03, 2016, 01:58:39 PM
It might be a useful resource for users, especially for those who can't setup a Zcash wallet in Linux.
That said, you do understand that few people would want to keep their tokens in a web wallet that they do not control? Why should I trust you with my Zcash coins?

As for the coding experience, it probably is a useful project and you get to familiarize with the zcash daemon rpc calls and so.

Can someone please clarify how much does 1 egg worth's? how is that calculated, also how much eggs will one translation  earns me? signature?
I couldn't find specific numbers....

Right now we don't know this conversion, other than the more eggs you have, the more Wings tokens you can swap them for. But to my knowledge, the exchange rate has not yet been officially announced by the Wings-team.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WINGS - Where DAO Unicorns Are Born on: November 02, 2016, 01:12:29 PM
With only 4 days after launching this campaign , we have already garnered 170k social reach . This is awesome.

we are almost 2X now

to be 1 million before ICO Launches!!!  Cool

Its really encouraging how the social reach has responded . We have reached the target of 250 k social within 5 day and as you have mention 1M is possible because we have ample time .
If only majority of those who supported can donate at least 0.05 btc . It will be a lot of help for the development and further enhance the potential of WINGS.

Why should they? Isn't this what the ICO is for?

Please refer below . Don't we love Wings to succeed with these fascinating features :

OK I understand you. Donating as in investing although not investing due to regulatory terms. Yes, in that sense a successful crowdfunding/donating would definitely lead to interesting features for the Wings project.

Sounds really good bizzyb, can't wait to start the beta testing!
I do assume that there will be clients for Linux/OSX/Windows? Any plans for docker images or virtual machine appliances as well?
I am not sure, but can the client/daemon run well under FreeBSD? There used to be build instructions for Unix, although I don't know if they are valid or just a leftover template from the BTC repository.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stratum Based Open Source ZEC ZCASH GPU Miner - ZOGMINER on: November 01, 2016, 10:34:40 AM
Can I use this miner with my old macbook pro (model from 2010)? Or will it not work?
(I installed Linux in Virtual Box, so no problems with OsX...)

You could try, but in general, any kind of mining on a laptop is a bad idea. They are not built for long term cpu-crunching and can be damaged due to overheating.
If you would like to try for the learning experience, sure go right ahead and try mining for a half an hour. The macbook will not survive a long term mining though and the components or motherboard could get damaged.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: October 31, 2016, 07:31:23 PM
The MUE team has bought all rights to the pool www.weminemue.com
We will bring it into our systems hopefully next week and the pool fee will be 0%.
That's right, nada, nothing, zero!
Smiley

I'm glad to hear that a settlement was made to keep the pool running! Maybe we can suggest some new features to the pool? I read you guys were looking into a better block explorer, that would be nice. Maybe a comparison for stats between the pool and the network? That is hashtate of the pool vs MUE network, how about email notification if a miner goes offline?

I'm sure others have suggestions and feature requests so I though to post here, and others may add to the discussion.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source ZEC (ZCash) GPU Miner AMD & NVidia (up to 45 sol/s on RX480) on: October 28, 2016, 12:47:03 PM
We have to mine on his pool because thats how he gets paid for creating this software

Then it would be better to have a dev fee of 1% like claymore.
The 4% is too much for me.
And the 4 zec minimum payout I may never reach.
Minimal payout on mainnet - 0.1 ZEC, pool fee 2,5% then down to 1%.

About silent army and NVidia, this kernel uses unaligned access to memory, that dosn't support by NVidia (miner crashes) and gives undefined behaivor on a part of AMD GPUs. It fast, but don't work everywhere Sad

sound way better!!
do you have any eta when going on mainnet should be any moment?

Great news eXtremal, sounds good, I'm sure many will continue to mine on the pool with these new settings.

@issie81 From what I have read, the genesis block should be done and the wallet(s) compiled. The launch will wait until the zcash devs get up in the morning, whatever time zone is in the San Francisco area.

494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: October 28, 2016, 09:46:47 AM
Baikal mini miner, mining Quark at ~151.8 MH/s using 24.9 W from the wall.
Temp of miner 26 C.

Time since restart, about 5 minutes.

How does the temperature change after 1 hour?

Unless the ambient temp in the room drastically goes up, the miner stays cool and rarely goes up more than a degree or two. It runs really stable in terms of hashrate, fanspeed and temperatures. Quite frankly, it is a really great little miner.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source ZEC (ZCash) GPU Miner AMD & NVidia (up to 45 sol/s on RX480) on: October 28, 2016, 09:08:52 AM
I saw that the 0.2X branch launches two instances of the miner. Is the idea to have one instance per card? So if I only have 1 card, I need to change this setting in the config?

Edit: Tried running with one and two instances, but I didn't see any larger speed differences. Creating a new .bin every test still yielded about 16.x sols for both trials.

What happens if someone starts mining this coin with 5000 GPUs?
Whether a coin is profitable to mine or not and if it is then what stops people to go full force on some coin?

Rest assure that companies like Genesis-Mining are likely to start mining with thousands of GPUs on Zcash at launch, and perhaps ramp up once the payouts get greater. This is just my speculation, I have no knowledge whatsoever if this will actually happen or not.

Are you others able to download the 2.1 package from Dropbox? For some reason I only get a download failed time and time again.
I have the version 1 running OK on Ubuntu 16.04 with the AMDGPU-pro drivers. I was getting 15 sol with 1x R9 290 card and was looking to try the updated miner.
I did a upload on one of my FTP so here is the link
http://www.sosit.co/miners/zcashclient-0.2.1.zip

Thanks a bunch tutorialevideo, I just downloaded it and will give it a try. Kudos!

how do i get zcash wallet address?

zcash-cli getnewaddress

any windows wallet avaible ?

Only Linux based systems from what I saw on Github. Ubuntu/Debian and Fedora.

can i use exchange address for mining?
if yes than is there any exchange?

Just relax and wait for the launch. Then clients will be available for end users and exchanges. I don't know about Windows wallets, but I'm sure you could mine to an exchange wallet for your account. You would need to have a minimal amount in your account before you can start selling and trading.
